People can hate on the styling all they want. But the 999 with the 54/57mm Termignoni exhaust was the best sounding bike Ducati ever made. And it isn’t close. It was also one of the highest quality motorcycles they ever produced. It was the last of their hand assembled bikes, and you can’t find a single cheap, generic part anywhere on it. Even the bolts are high end. I remember looking at one up close in a dealership back in 2007 when the 1098 first came out. They had to keep the 999 on the other side of the showroom. Apparently they originally had them all in the same area, but when the bikes were side by side, the 999 made it too obvious how many generic parts the 1098 used.
Note to viewers “Don’t try this at home!” Riding any kind of motorcycle for any distance with flip flops on is just not smart, or safe 😑 I don’t care how experienced you think you are.
Damn, I wish my Panigale sounded like this. Even my old 1198 didn't sound that mean. Love it! So many haters with the downvotes too, haha. Who cares what he's wearing, I clicked on this to listen to a bike, not rate some guy's riding safety.
No dtc, no abs, no riding mode, a lot of character, intense sensation, on this vibrant red ''love'' DUCATI with enough horses power to get any common rider in trouble, a true old school motorcycle , tell u what I love the spirit ...
I still can remember the sound of World Superbike all-winning 888 superbikes among the crowd of howling japanese four cylinder ones. It was a powerful, distinctive, truly basso profundo exhaust note. "Here comes Roche" you said. Ducati's exhaust tone is pure awesomeness. I think those fools complains are in regards of mechanical "noises" at idle. Those dry clutch "noises". But then, that's all trademark Ducati sound. And there you have it.
It's just taste! My personal taste is from a Harley to a BMWS1000RR, I love all powerful bikes, of any style. I had a GSX 1100 W, a V-twin Honda Shadow, a Benelli 899S and I'm getting my first Duca 999R. Thanks for sample sound, it's awesome!
people say they hate the sounds of a ducati and that it sounds like a lawn mower, thats only because the engine is running at a low rpm, on a track they are beasts...
amazing how you captured that deep sound on camera , i got a very impressive sound in my panigale with new termignonis full system , filmed it with a gopro (on my channel ) then i listened to it , complete bullocks , the termis are LOUD , and reving it up twice gives a loud bang and flame from the exhaust , but on camera it sounds like a fart .
ohhh ok,, i didnt know but i will say i love the looks of ducati bikes,,they are one of the best lookin sport bikes on the planet, italy allways did build an awesome engine in everything they build,,
Love the sound when they are running---driving, but that cold idle sounds like an old threshing machine. Kind of different....... but still pretty "bad assed"! .
Never ride without a helmet and certain NEVER with flip-flops. Even at 20 mph your head would be mush if you hit a wall or fence or a car. Nice bike, but be smart and never think you are above an accident, blown tire, idiots on the road, road imperfections or malfunction with bike. We want to see you alive on a bike. Nice 999. Not sure why people say this is an ugly bike, still looks modern today.
Tony Meoli ,,,Agree ,, flip flops are retarded thing to wear,he looks too small for that bike ,, no helmet no brains ,, he can learn the hard way ,, he'el be an advocate after he's in a wheelchair sayin
When i was listening to the exhaust on the youtube i tought that this sound is good or even very good. But when i heard it in real life, with spark exhaust... oh man. Just excellent superbike :)
Actually not bad for a Termi exhaust, sounds great. I used to own the 999S, but only with a slip on, but I have to say, my current 999R with a full system Titanium Corsa Leo Vince exhaust beats anything I've heard on a Ducati. Wanted the LV bad when I heard one equipped coming up a mountain canyon. I said one day I would get one, but never could afford the sucker being $3,750 retail. In 2009 I bought a 2003 999R, the first year R model of the series and it had only 951 miles on it. I called the guy, who lived outside of LA and I drove down there the next day with my cargo trailer in tow. Bought the bike and drove back to Sacramento the same day. Six months later I found the Leo Vince through Leo Vince's Richmond office and made smokin deal on it because it was their last one. I installed it and you should see the awesome weld work on the interior pipes, a work of art. But the sound is intoxicating.
The cold start sounded like (used to be) my 2006 Honda CRF50F. It all sounded like it.... Except the bass was a little deeper and I didn't have plastics and all rattling like crazy...
I think people who hate this Ducati's nice sound is that they're using cheap speakers and sound systems. Don't even rely on built-in speakers if you're using a laptop. I for one had that experience. First time I heard a Ducati, I thought it sounded like a chainsaw, until I put on a pair of high-quality headphones.
My Briggs & Stratton sounds like that when i fire her up after the winter with old and thick oil and old gas. Nice to know Ducati sounds like a reliable brand lolol
I have a Ducatti 999 in Yellow, the noise is the dry clutch, Asian bike all have semi wet clutches, they make nearly no noise but they dont clamp as hard as a dry clutch like oh say a Ducati or any over GP style superbike
Everyone knows, Filipinos are the only ones that can ride a Ducati with flip flops. We are the masters of flip flops, we even play hoops with flip flops on ALL DAY ERR DAY!!
I LOVE the sound of this bike when it is revving but at idle it would drive me nuts. Even the valves on my CBRF2 drove me nuts and it was pretty quiet.
Completely agree on sound. I have tried to sell my 999 twice but as soon as the potential buyer starts it up I am in love all over again.
This is the best recorded sound of a Ducati Superbike I have heard online, exactly as they sound in real life, great job!
I believe so too.
Mark Nowhereman Man use the helmet
keyboardheroics It is? Because damnnnn I fell in love with the sound!
I'm the same, that sound is very addictive and rarely comes out right on video recordings sadly.
All Ducati superbike engines have this deep, bass heavy sound trait. It is too loud for some tastes, but perfect for others (like myself.)
2022 and still what a bike . still sounds best, best looking ever.

the 916 with termi actually had the best sounding, but i would take the 1975 Sport 750, or 06 sport classic, any day
cafe racers if you want that timeless look
Nothing beats a Ducati!
In cars, I am JDM all the way, but bikes… all Italia ☝🏻
I'm pretty sure people don't think Ducati's sound like crap - in fact the opposite is held true...nice bike - nice sound! Cheers
Note to viewers “Don’t try this at home!” Riding any kind of motorcycle for any distance with flip flops on is just not smart, or safe 😑 I don’t care how experienced you think you are.
*yawn*
Thank god he´s wearing safety flip flops and a safety cap
Sounds like a Honda elite 80 with a exhaust leak lol
Your Panigale should sound like this - Basically sake Desmodromic Engine.
Flip flops, no helmet, and obviously a pretty new rider, live and learn
Tenho uma igual . Ma-ra-vi-lho-sa . . .
Clanking like a lawnmower that needs a tune up
That's the sound of a dry clutch.
Nice bike 👍 but still prefer a v4 sound !
Damn, I wish my Panigale sounded like this. Even my old 1198 didn't sound that mean. Love it! So many haters with the downvotes too, haha. Who cares what he's wearing, I clicked on this to listen to a bike, not rate some guy's riding safety.
Well said!!
***** If you mean the exhaust(sorry but i don't speach english very well),it is a Termignoni.
+Darwin Allen Or maybe they are 12yo kids wishing it sounds like a i4...
+Darwin Allen Damn right dude!!

I'm a diesel person but ducati bikes sound amazing. Wish I could get desmo valves on my truck.
people say they hate the sounds of a ducati and that it sounds like a lawn mower, thats only because the engine is running at a low rpm, on a track they are beasts...
That's THE best sounding motorcycle I've ever heard. Period.
The exhaust note on this beauty. Hallelujah!! 😍
You are welcome my friend. I also love the 999 and 749 body work. So simple, thin, sexy and artistic.
amazing how you captured that deep sound on camera , i got a very impressive sound in my panigale with new termignonis full system , filmed it with a gopro (on my channel ) then i listened to it , complete bullocks , the termis are LOUD , and reving it up twice gives a loud bang and flame from the exhaust , but on camera it sounds like a fart .

Mark that bike sounds awesome!! There is nothing like a Ducati!!
It's different than other superbikes, Ducati has that special feel and sound to it.
Una delle Ducati piu' belle di sempre!
Love the sound when they are running---driving, but that cold idle sounds like an old threshing machine. Kind of different....... but still pretty "bad assed"! .
Damn I miss my Ducati!! That sound is like music to my ears.
I wish I had more hands. So I can give that bike 4 thumbs up! Nice bike.

Classic sound..!!
For christ's sake, am I the only one who came for the sound of this bike?
I would wear flip flops all day long if I could take a ride on this.
I LOVE the sound of this bike when it is revving but at idle it would drive me nuts. Even the valves on my CBRF2 drove me nuts and it was pretty quiet.
It's the dry clutch sound I love it
Man you sure know how to have fun.
