Hey wanted to say I followed this and it helped a lot. Thank you! I also installed a 7 pin wiring and that was a pretty big pain because you have to run extra power for the brake controller and 7 pin. Anyone doing this and just looking for a 4 flat will be in luck! Some people just run that out of the interior to the trailer when needed and tuck it inside.
I just got my 2023 odyssey sport last week, thinking DYI the trailer hitch too, after seeing this video, I think I need someone else do it for me, this is way more complicate than I think…you are so talented…thanks for a good video…
A nice looking installation. I like the look of the OEM hitch as I don't care for the appearance of having the cross bar part of the hitch hanging below the bumper. As you mentioned, it's nice to have the additional ground clearance as well.
Thanks for sharing this. This is one of the videos that I was studying before I did my install. Also, I agree with you wholeheartedly on that awful look of some of the aftermarket hitches. (They are def easier to install though.) My job took about 90 mins, which is light speed for me doing these sort of projects. Thanks again!
nice! thanks for the video. what is that L shape attachment to your power drill called? also is there a guideline on the bumper so you know where to cut?
So In order to get 50% off coupon you need to “buy” the car using Costco auto…..and you only get 15% off if you don’t buy the car through them & you just a member? Was the coupon instant or you had to wait a few days for it ? Also thanks for the video I’m going to tackle this myself…how is it holding up?
correct. i believe the 15% was instant online, but I think the 50% came a few weeks later via email i believe. It is holding up great. Only used it a few times with the full bike rack, but no issues so far.
Are those taillights tinted? I have the elite but lights don't come smoked. Would I have to buy a whole new taillight set or could I just tint the ones I have?
Excellent. Thanks for responding! Just bought a new 2023 odyssey and am looking to install the oem hitch too. Will be using this video for reference when the time comes
That ENTIRE Bumper cutouts 🤯🤯😵😵💫---ohhh....noooo... and nooo.. I will not install an OEM. the Draw-Tite 76170 Class 3 Trailer hitch is a much cleaner install. Not sure why Honda designed their hitch that way

Exactly, this is a lot.
Nice, this is the most powerful, best looking and also most family friendly mini-van right now.

Thank you for the video. I just installed mine today
Awesome! Let’s see a pic!
Thank you for the video! I was quoted $1600 including insulation by my local dealer so no way.
Yeah that’s about the going rate it seems. But if you do decide to go with them use the coupon mentioned to save some cash.
Thanks for this awesome guide! Looks so clean…
Thank god I found your video thank you.
nice! thanks for the video. what is that L shape attachment to your power drill called? also is there a guideline on the bumper so you know where to cut?
Do a web search for “105 Degree Right Angle Extension” And yes there are lines on the bumper so it’s easy to know where to cut.

No they are stock.
Did the bumper and other parts have the markings of where to cut, or did you have to measure?
The bumper had markings you could follow of where to cut.
Can you tell me if the scribe marks for the cuts on the bumper were already there?
Yes they are marked for you.
I have a 2021 odyssey and imagine the scribe marks on the inside of bumper as well ?
@@jasonpinca5443I would assume so, but don’t know for sure.
How did you know where to cut and drill the bumper?
The inside of the bumper has lines and holes of where to cut.

Did you wire in for trailer lights?
No, I wasn’t planning on towing, just for a bike rack. But I think it would be that much more work.
What dealer you get the trailer from?
I believe it was Irvine in scal.

This has the highest clearance. Mechanically the best.
90% of the time you will never need a torque wrench, just a long pole. I’ve built many Jeeps never touching a torque wrench
