I used to live next door to a professional part time house and garage DJ back in the late 1990s and early 2000s and he was a family friend already and he had tons of Technics 1210s (I think it was, the really desirable one for DJs back then anyway) and he honestly had piles of them stacked up on top of each other on both sides of the room, I think he used to modify them. And he once gave me 2 top notch ones and some records to play around on. I was only like 18-21 and I tried a little bit of matching and mixing but wasn't that interested and sold them years later when nobody was into vinyl and DJs were using CDs and got nothing compared to what they are worth now. Man I love vinyl collecting now and wish I had them now.

You’re thinking of the techniques 1200 and yes, very desirable turntable even today.

That’s a great turntable from 1978 I believe. I picked mine up at a pawnshop for 50 bucks nonworking and basically did all of the same things that you just did to get it fully functioning again. It’s a great turntable. I also have a modern high end, audio technica Turntable, fully manual piano black that I love as well

Hi I have an SL 3300 and can’t seem to get it to turn. Everything else works and it’s getting power but I can’t get the table to spin.
It spins freely and if I get it moving by hand the needle will drop.
Any suggestions? I will update once I do it this service

Could be dirty pitch control(s)…either the dial on top or the VRs underneath. Could also be caused by a bad cap or integrated circuit.

I have this turntable and it can't get up to speed on the 45 setting. I'm confused as to where you sprayed the deoxit. I tried once and it didn't do anything. Should I just be spraying where the know turns in the housing and try to work it in, or is there like a hole to spray the stuff in. It mostly all just looks like black plastic. I can'y figure how to get the deoxit inside.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. The 33 is fine. The slow 45 seems slight, but its audibly noticeable and sounds bad. Thanks!
I did see the part of the video where the pots are sprayed but I'm having trouble susing out exactly where its being sprayed. It almost looks like the two knobs each knob was sprayed in different places. Maybe the whole is on the knob and moves, so they were sprayed in different spots because the knobs were turned to different positions.
I don't know, but thanks! I soldered in new RCA cables all by myself, but I figure its time to reach out.

This left the shop a long time ago...there could be more going on than just a dirty 45 RPM pitch pot. There are some electronic components that could cause the issue. VinylEngine would be an excellent source to research if anyone else has had the issue.

Hi,thanks for posting, I have this turntable but the size selector will get stuck when it is moved to the lowest setting(7") and the tone arm doesn not stop for auto play, it just keeps going to the middle. Any suggestions?
    thanks

I just released a video regarding a similar issue with a Technics SL 1300 (the tonearm not doing what it is supposed to). The problem was dried/sticky grease. While the design is different, the concept is the same. Make sure all parts that should move underneath are free to do so. Also check for any misaligned/bent/damaged mechanical parts. For one-on-one troubleshooting, your best bet is to start a thread on Audiokarma or Vinylengine.
