Bounty, back when its catchphrase was "The Taste of Paradise" and not "Taste of The Exotic" and when Bounty was only a brand of chocolate bar and not also a brand of paper towel.
Looking back its crazy how in 1998 as a 9 years old everthing seems so modern Looks at the adverts most of the woman have 80s hair style curley and long😂❤
Amazing to think that Kleenix ad was 1998; it's proper early 90's style ! Good to know there was still some integrity and class in late 90's pop culture amongst the domination of lad/ladette depravity and degeneracy !
9:29 You can tell that this is from around 1993-1994 as Danny Baker was everywhere. You can also tell that the pixelated washing powder is Persil - it would never be a Proctor and Gamble washing powder like Daz would it?
I was doing an apprenticeship in 98 at a garden place called Compton acres in Poole, Dorset. I was jet washing some slabs, and the petrol jet wash was losing power and only putting out a small stream of water. So I wrote on a slab "Mr muscle does the jobs you hate". A year later, it was still there!
i don't think advertisement really works these days. fuck knows how ad revenue on youtube works because i either look at something else for a 20 seconds or skip them after 5. or i could just get adblocker. i don't think many young people even watch tv these days.
Those were the days, but saying that... I went to a 99. Something % white school... and lived in a 99. Something % white area... so I quess the demographics represented right in adverts back then... not like now
Does anyone remember a car commercial in the UK in 1998 I think it was where The Animals' We Gotta Get Outta This Place was used? It showed a car in a maze in the desert if I remember right then it showed the car get out of the maze and then it focused on the speedometer speeding up. I'm just trying to remember which make of car they were advertising.
I remember one with a car on the roof of a skyscraper driving fast on the edge of the building... and it was all filmed for real. Probably a Honda advert
I think these adverts are from around 1995, not 1998. What was the song and artist used in the Maxwell House advert that I seem to remember? I think it was also used during Newcastle United's home matches in its Premership days, certainly in recent times.
Men's fashion was like pop up addias joggers and baggy coats denim shirt and combat trousers and accessories such as bandanas anything that made you stood out was cool we didn't bitch about things about like you see people do today you look at a women and say she was sexy and they took as a compliment unlike if you say it today its sexist
Yes, that's when the advert was made but some are reused for years. That was one of them, I guess. I recorded these off the tv in 1998, it said so on the cassette.
It's mad to think that when these were uploaded, they were 11 years old and now they're 22 years old. Where the hell does time go?
I still consider 2009 to be a few years ago... let alone 11 years back. Mind you, your comment was one year ago and here I am saying hellooooo

Hello 6 years ago commenter, they just banned leaded petrol across the world a couple days ago.
I miss the 90s so bad lol.

@@mikematthews7018 true comment. Our species future looks bleak these days
Same. The best days.
What a load of tosh.
Was born in 2006 and wish I lived during the 90s so bad 😂
Each advert is so unique which is a far cry from the competitive nature of brands today.
There adverts were on when I left school and started work, now I feel old!
Same here. Left school in 98
if you come back from a date and the first thing you talk about is the kind of bog roll he uses, it wasnt a great date lets be fair
It depends what you clean up with it. 😉
2:37 Les Battersby from Corrie plays the dad that needs a cushion.
I noticed :)
I remember that 'Drugs + Solvents' leaflet. It was really good; it just gave you the facts without any bias or propaganda.
LMAO! Love how the current Bold 2in1 is practically the same advert as in this vid, but now she needs credit for her phone. XD

Mr Muscle loves the jobs you hate....
Hes obviously Polish
When it was Oil of Ulay and not 'Olay'
Holy shit, I noticed this too. Mandela Effect?
I thought it was always 'Olay' :S
It changed to Olay in about 2000 Or so.
It used to be oil of ulay and they used to say "the oil of UK" on the adverts
I swear it was Oil Of Olaz? lmao
I never saw these ads in UK before when I was originally born in the year 1998.
As if I remember that Bold advert so clearly...I would've been 13 in 1998 and love these nostalgia trips
Bounty, back when its catchphrase was "The Taste of Paradise" and not "Taste of The Exotic" and when Bounty was only a brand of chocolate bar and not also a brand of paper towel.
+Chris Woollett it was actually 'the taste of parrot diced'
Oil of Ulay...blimey I feel old now

I think the British ads used to be the best in the world ..
It's insane how embedded these are in our memories, how did I remember so many of these so clearly?
Those Horvis adverts already remind me of being a kid :D
What are ya, 120 years old :p
Body form for youuuu, that was a bloody good advert
Just like a woman!
Not one woman on this planet is that happy during her period. Period!
Les Battersby on the Pork advert, haha!

Trying to remember this old commercial from 1998 in the summer and it had all these red squirrels.
The bodywork and Pedigree chum I remembered so well!! I miss this year!
Ive noticed a large quantity of dog food and pet adverts are on these 90s videos compared to nowadays!
Ah.. A simple time.. Even though i would have been 8 years old lol

Depending on when these aired I would have either not existed or have been a new born crazy to think eh?
How was it simple?

I can't believe Pedigree got away with calling a type of their dog food "Chum" in the UK. That would have never worked in the US.
Why not?
The song is called Going Home (Local Hero theme) by Mark Knopfler.
Contrast the first advert with the second advert - that represents modern life.
people had dishwashers in 98? they still seem a recent thing to me, ha
