You guys look so happy to be on the Volendam after MSC. Thank you for mentioning the ship housed Ukrainian refugees and has some artwork in honour. That’s what makes HAL a class act in itself. ❤
We agree. The difference between the two experiences were night and day.🛳 It was wonderful to be back cruising with HAL.

This was so much fun to watch. I am only seeing the video now since I was on that cruise. One of the highlights of the cruise was meeting you two.

I was probably having lunch on the aft deck when you were filming.
My favourite place on the ship was the aft deck. I usually ate breakfast and lunch out there. I loved going there for sunsets.
I also thought the World stage space and MDR were beautiful. The fresh flowers and artwork were also interesting.
You are so right about the fabulous staff. I never encountered a grumpy staff member. They were always smiling and engaging.
I loved the ship and I would definitely sail on the Volendam again.
We will have the gym in the ship tour we are about to release. It was wonderful to meet you. We agree with your assessment of the ship. We hope to sail again on the Volendam.
It is hot today! We are in Ottawa. We sailed on the Volendam in 2011 from Vancouver to Alaska. Thank you for the tour and memories!

Yes, Holland America has some nice ships. And they have very good food for the most part. Pizza wasn't so good though. Maybe they do pizza different today. Do they make vegetarian hamburgers? Prefer to take stairs. The Volendam looks like a nice ship. Would consider taking just to be on that ship. When on the Veendam we ate one night in the Pinnacle Grill also. Nice place. Those are all nice ports-of-call. Been to all except Montreal. The staff on Holland America is usually very good. Prefer ships with few kids.
The Volendam was a wonderful ship! We had an amazing cruise.

Great relaxed ship tour. Your cabin reminds me of our first cruise in the older Rotterdam in 2017. Loved the promenade and used the loungers outside our cabin like a personal veranda.

Bucket list! We've been to Montreal but not Quebec.
Quebec City was probably the biggest surprise to us. We felt like we were in Europe not Canada 🇨🇦
Definitely Old City has a very European feel. My husband came from there, and every trip during our dating years to see his parents, we explored often.
We are getting on the Volendam in Boston on Saturday. Really enjoyed this sneak peak.

I missed the live but enjoyed watching. Great tour of the Volendam...the layout seems similar to the Zaandam. The Oceans Bar looks like a great spot. Enjoy your time exploring Eastern Canada. Looking forward to your videos of your 7 days. 🤩

That was a great live vlog. Your tour of the ship brought back some very nice memories. Our first two Alaska cruises (2006 and 2011)were on the Volendam and a lot of the spaces on the ship hasn't changed. It is amazing how HAL maintains there older ships. Look forward to hearing more about your cruise.

I'll be watching for your updates on this cruise. It's been 20 years since we've done HA and loved it then. Recently done Princess and Royal Caribbean and was very disappointed in the decline of offerings, taste, and presentation of food. Most significantly the taste. I am hoping your HA reports indicated that the food is better than the bigger ships.
We feel that the food on HAL is one of the best we have experienced. One thing that we like is that they seem to always have something related to our itinerary such as clam chowder for Maine.

We took this ship to Alaska last summer. First cruise, loved it! Enjoy!
It’s a wonderful size ship. Not crowded, but still plenty to do!
Does the Volendam do this Cruise all the time or different cruises? This one's on my bucket list. Is this cheaper than the larger ships?
It is doing this run this year and next. Beyond that we aren’t sure. We had a good price but it becomes more expensive throughout the season.
When is the chocolate parade? Last cruise we were on we asked guest services about population of ship. And they have us printout with all the guests. BTW we were on Volendam when the ship got stuck on a Sand bar. Is there pickelball on board
The chocolate parade was on our second formal night. It started at 9:30pm. There is pickle ball on board.
Do you have a fridge in the room
No fridge in the cabin. Just an ice bucket.🛳
Is the ship full enough that this itinerary will continue being offered in the future?
It looks like they're only running it a handful of times this year.
We believe it is pretty full. HAL has had at least one ship doing this itinerary from May to October each year.
How did you get such a good deal in CDN$ ?!
Cruising in May was very reasonably priced. We found that the cruise is much more expensive later in the summer and fall.
question: How many formal nights are there?
We believe two. Tonight is the first one and we hear that the second one is when we are in Halifax.
Do thry have a limit on daily drinks with the drink package?
Yes. 15 drinks. That includes water and coffee. The Elite package is 15 alcoholic with unlimited non- alcoholic drinks
How come you didn't complain now about the buffet area being blocked by the shades like you did on the MSC seashore? Just saying.
Cause it was closing down after lunch and it had already served over a thousand people without any lines. Classy service without people grubbing with their hands in the food. Much different than thousands of people in lines of dozens of people on the Seashore while half the buffet was closed. You say complain - we say just showing what our eyes see with the camera.
