A Professional Guide to Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett Elk Scoring. ft. Troy Hawkins

A compressive guide to officially scoring an elk for either Pope and Young or Boone and Crockett. Official scorer, Troy Hawkins of Palisade, Colorado was nice enough to invite us down to show the process of officially scoring an elk. Troy is an official scorer of Pope and Young, Boone and Crockett as well as SCI. Troy owns and operates Hawkins Taxidermy, LLC in Palisade Colorado. With nearly ten years of professional experience, Troy shows some great tips and tricks on how to accurately score an elk. No matter your skill level, I'm confident there will be something in this video that will help you out next time you score an elk. The elk we measured was my 2020 archery bull elk. Working with Troy was outstanding, and I want to thank him very much for having us out. If you are in the Grand Junction area and you need some taxidermy work done, or you need to get an official score, I would strongly recommend Troy. I was able to walk around the shop and I was very impressed with his work.
