I fall in love with their cuteness. Thank you for making my day. It was the first time in my life seeing this dance in Samsara film and I keep searching for them. Here I am 🥰
If yall find this "creepy" or "disturbing", yall should know that this dance was performed by children. These children couldn't portray the movement in a more "graceful" way, their technique wasn't quite good and their expressions were a bit exaggerated. Probably because they were still young and they didn't finish their training as a dancer yet. Actually, this dance is beautiful and I found it pretty hard to learn. . . . Fyi, they were trying to portray a balinese dance called Legong. You can search it up and find out that the performance is usually performed by older dancers.
I don’t really understand the comments being creeped out or disturbed by this tbh. Idk I didn’t interpret the facial expressions or any other part of the performance as anything but a context I didn’t have and for all I knew it was all intentional to convey something. Thank you for providing context though!
Because i currently live in bali , from the costume its maybe a legong dance. And i've watch the full dance with the gamelan intrument its so amazing .
That's freaky, they look like robot dolls from another dimension. Kind of creepy and not creepy at the same time, I think I could watch this for hours and slip into a trance.
So interesting. This IS Balinese. As humans we must be programmed to fear anything unfamiliar. I am mesmerized. But was from the first time I ever saw a Balinese dancer many many years ago. Probably some gene that makes us curious. Another says hide. Where I live many genes of people that tell them to BITE anything different.
Saw them in sphongle/Ott tea song and that was my first thought also. I had to rewind several times because their faces were morphing as it was a visual flashback.
@@AnoRex770 I know . I was just kidding . I remember watching a Balinese dance on TV when I was a child and I remember it scared me a little. The wide eyes and those strange almost mechanical movements; like dolls that had come to life ! 😳😁
This is great art and culture, look at the costumes, it must have been passed down by a once very affluent Hinduism civilisation. Too bad, civilisations prosper and die.
Oh hello, actually balinese culture nowadays is exist after majapahit collapse around 15 AD. So if we talk about hindu civilization in the past, its not like balinese culture nowadays. Bcoz culture is still developing and changing every time. Same like other indonesian culture. Srivijayan era, tarumanegara era, majapahit era, pajajaran era, mataram era, yogyakarta era, etc, they have their own civilization and culture. If you wanna see indonesian traditional arts these days, you can check my playlists (not only bali). Thank you
@@andrewtee Im not historian, im just common indonesian who love to learn about culture. Btw not all indonesian culture has hindu influence, like borneo and papuan culture. Their culture looks more like pacific islander rather than southeast asia. Also, when you check my playlists, make sure that you have to distinguish balinese culture and other indonesian cultures. For example, Balinese dance has eye movement, also has vibration movement, the arm position is mostly up. (Off course you have to look at some more details too). Look at tge videos on top of my indonesian dance. Thats the example of balinese dance. Also, dont forget to watch other indonesian culture like from jawa, sunda, sumatra, sulawesi, lombok, etc. I'll appreciate if you wanna see them.
I want to see you as a dancer, Like the desert gypsy women With candelabras on their heads Or like the Balinese on their holidays I want to see you as a dancer Like dervishes Tourneur's Who twist around, around their back bones To the sound of ankle bracelets of Katakali
can somebody PLEASE explain why do they have this super PSYCHOTIC look in their eyes, like its in a horror movie or something.. please tell me you always know exactly what i am talking about
I wanna..........I wanna.......I wanna reach up there and stop those springy things from wiggling around! But seriously......those girls are so disciplined and animated! Pretty neat to watch.
I love the way they move their hands. A mesmerizing scene from a mesmerizing film.
This movie actually inspired be to travel to indonesia. And it was one of the best experiences of my life to see all this stuff in person
Such a beautiful cultural dance. From 🇦🇺..
I love how they look like dolls.highlighting the eyes and giving an illusion that they have big head and small body. Its art
becasuse they're small girls about 10 years old.
they don't look 10 years old.... more like adult midget....
@@MasterofPlay7 lol. It's because of their makeup. They're kids
@@introvertdude842 no dude I think they are indeed midgets...
@Althea E Maybe they really do have big heads and small bodies ! 🤔😌😊

One of the most beautiful works of art I have ever seen!
Best intro, the music, the color, the culture, the 70mm film and film grain.
documentary film at its best
They look so beautiful and their faces are adorable! The most memorable scene from that film.
Need to see this film! Thanks Raja for opening up this world to me. 🥰
came right from dr to here also !
this is actually not the same dance, you can find a 14yo girl perform the same dance as Raja's performance
we should all pitch in and have Raja take us to Bali as a tour guide, i would totally go!
disturbing and hypnotizing at the same time
They are ADORABLE. Love this film.
Are they children or just young small ladies?
This was so beautiful and mesmerizing. I felt an instant calmness while watching.
Ive been watching it every so often since i discover this and meditate. Made me very emotional
This is a beautiful dance and feel. If I died today and go to wherever it is the soul travels next, this is what I wish I'd see.
Go to Bali, Indonesia and see it for yourself. This movie inspired me to go there and I loved it. A dream come true.
This is my favorite movie of all times

Iya juga malah jadi serem gitu . Aslinya bagus
Probably makes them think of the so-called "evil eye"
Because i currently live in bali , from the costume its maybe a legong dance. And i've watch the full dance with the gamelan intrument its so amazing .
@Mutiara Naga but legong has same movement in begining
@Mutiara Naga Yeahh it's Called "Condong Legong Keraton" Dance....
Amazing, pure art. I love different cultures.
Kiko- Dead Can Dance. This is awesome.
my eyes while watching: 👀
I think the music made it more eerie
They are so pretty :))
Thank you-This has quickly became a lowkey meditation song and video for me when stressed out at work.
do you know what the song is called?
How absolutely stunning.
much better when accompanied by the music from the video KIKO by Dead Can Dance. these dancers are just amazing
Fun fact: a fragment of this video was used in the "10% brain capacity explanation" from the movie Lucy.
That's freaky, they look like robot dolls from another dimension. Kind of creepy and not creepy at the same time, I think I could watch this for hours and slip into a trance.
YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO RESPECT THE ART CULTURE....
"from another dimension", or hinting at it, is exactly the thought I had when I saw this!
Right they put this on when I was on my shroom trip and it was just way to much for me was mad tripping balls
Wow fantastic!! I came here because of Raja

creepy and beautiful at the same time.
what is the story of this dance ??
This reminds me of Blue Man Group.
Nice video❥ Very beautiful and cute dancers and dance❦
Esa pelicula es muy fascinante. Esas niñas no tienen mas de 10 años y son hipnóticas.
So beautiful
Totally enthralling ~ beautiful girls.

it is A Wonderful of Indonesia
am I the only one who think it's a bit scary?
Dit is zo Mooi !!
This reminds me so much of the entities i saw on DMT
Saw them in sphongle/Ott tea song and that was my first thought also. I had to rewind several times because their faces were morphing as it was a visual flashback.
Just WOW ...
This vid was in the movie LUCY
the eyes 😍🙏
💛
Does anyone know where I can find the rest of the song and what it's called?
Bali girls the song
I think this dance is something to do with slaying a dragon. Trippy and attractive ladies ..
Actually the dance is about slaying Garuda (big mythical bird), so yeah, pretty close. 😅
They're little girls, I think....
this is like a bad mushroom trip
noirdesire 😝
🤣
I watched this while tripping on acid, and it did start to get a lil freaky🤣🤣🤣
......and that is how robotic dancing got started !
There's actually a pattern to this traditional dance style...it's not random robotic movements...

Nice.
I can see the impact of chola tamil culture in this dance, thanjavur bommai, tanjore doll thalayaatti bommai,
в Аватар: легенда об Аанге были такие штуки.. напомнило:)
This is great art and culture, look at the costumes, it must have been passed down by a once very affluent Hinduism civilisation. Too bad, civilisations prosper and die.
87% population of Bali is of Hindus and 2% are Buddhists. They are proud of their ancient root.

Huh? Hindu culture is alive and well in Bali, Indonesia.
who came after watching Raja do this dance on Drag Race?
so, this is how Francis Dolarhyde was moving after killing the Leeds? lol
What is song
They look like living dolls
This culture came from the lost hindu empire thousand years ago.
Are they children?? I can't quite tell
Mirelurk yes they are quite young probably around age 10-11

It's similar to Indian dances right
Bali Endonesia
Nice
Where can I find music from this clip?
There's a soundtrack album for the film Samsara. Great film, too. You can sit back or even lay down to watch it. There are no dialogues nor plots
Dfaq is this and what Iam I doing here 3am in the morning???

Блин, жутковато
They are not balinese dancers.. balinese more than them.. this makeup colours not the balinese.. its fake
What do you know about Bali?
It’s a movie dummy!
Creepy as fuck
Would have been thrice as good with gamelan music which is meant for legong dance instead of this shitty song
I love this scene but the ethereal music ruins it for me.
It's creepy and I don't like it
Abe Knight you stupid
It's for succeeding your inner fears.
You like justin bieber
Then why did you watch and comment?!
