That is one angry sounding and MASSIVE sounding fuzz pedals in a very good way…..and that Les Paul of yours is fantastic. I’ve got this pedal sitting in my den of I’ll repute still in the Amazon packaging and I’m watching all these review videos to crescendo myself into a frenzy before I open it
Wilco, nice! Does anybody know more about the Big Cheese circuit? Someone told me it's a fuzzface with a muff style tone stack, but I don't know if that is true.
dude, yes! the "invisible-pick-method." andy to me shifts between traditional finger styling, and his own "sans-pick" method. I have "squirmed" too, but only when he plays "traditional-pick" style, but with his finger(s). He has developed his own style, for damn sure. i think he has a vid up somewhere about it. btw, what do you reckon on this particular vid, and the fuzz sounds. Loads of fuzz out there. This particular field marshal fuzz sounds wicked dope to me...heh heh. be well! ; )
@@pdautg I grew up in a town in the 70's where there were no music stores. @@graemero5532 Q Store..... And his Noise Gate (usually a pedal you would place at the end of the chain to control the output) would be called the Latrine?
Always great to see some fuzz pedals that aren't your typical Fuzz Face/BigMuff/Tone Bender. This sounds incredible, and ThorpyFX makes some quality pedals!
Paul Weyer The only Gate mode is with the switch up. Mid and Bottom modes are mid boost fuzz, which might have a tiny bit of Gate because we are taking fuzz. Hope that helps!
Hi, thanks for the demo. Curious if the pedal responds to guitar volume roll-off like a Fuzz Face, so you can get that kind of bluesy/creamy fuzz at louder and go roll-off for cleans? Or is it not that kind of design?
Yes, the pedal still cleans up incredibly well! I would suggest using the middle/lower modes for maximum cleanup. You can clean up in the starved upper mode but only with low gain settings. Thanks for the question, I was focused primarily with the Big Cheese tones and could have used a cleanup example. You can just hear it on the last chord of the demo :)
Andy you're an awesome bass player and I always watch your videos hoping to see you play some bass. Given the popularity and love for Radiohead's "National Anthem", I'm curious why you didn't at least do 15 seconds of bass at the end or something. Does it not sound good on bass like the OG Big Cheese did?
@@jpaulsteadmanI do use a couple of their pedals,- the look isn't a deal killer, and varies from one to the next by degree.I suppose that it's at least simple, - as opposed to many more " Metal" oriented , or say, EHX , or the recent Fender pedal branded attempts. The color choices for the side panels are cool..
Dude, no. From demos, I had high expectations, - they really hard sold that whole line of pedals, tons of demos. That's the first bad sign. I have to draw a line under that joyo octafuzz rubbish it was aweful and couldn't wait to send it packing. Now the Carcosa that's a real nice gated fuzz for $80

I can't believe it took so long for companies to start replicating this fuzz, but I'm glad so many are jumping on the bandwagon
I love that it seems like everyone youtube is playing JazzMasters or JazzMaster clones!
This is amazing for their interpretation of the Big Cheese Fuzz.
John Cusack is killing this fuzz!

That's the perfect tone for my Andy Demos opposite band, The Dandy Emo's.
Andy, the music that was playing under your spoken product description was melting my face off. Killer!

That sounds fucking awesome.

Kansas Sounds you are not dreaming!
One fuzz to rule them all...
I have to learn that opening jam, cheers Andy.

This or the keeley fuzz bender ?? Serious question.
Brutal thing....
Geil!
Working Man intro woulda been nice...
👍🏻
Wish I could afford one
I don't know why but the invisible pick method makes me squirm 😂. Seriously though, the opening track was just insane. Nice work!
Why on earth would it make you squirm? He’s an amazing player.

Because, when I don't have a pick for certain styles of playing, I get uncomfortable very quickly😂. Andy is the king!

Very cool Andy good demo

Love it 👍
