I’m 47 now, and have been listening to The Cure since I was 12 years old. Robert was my father figure, because I came from a broken home. When I was 13 my mom took me to see them live in Orlando, FL. I remember it like it was yesterday. She’s gone now, but he’s still here and I can’t wait to see them one last time at least, in Tampa. This man means more to many of us that he could ever imagine.
@@jsyndownfall7829 happy belated birthday, i can't think of a better way to celebrate than seeing the cure - i turned 30 at one of the MSG shows last week :')
Every Cure concert is something that goes deeply in the heart.... Robert is firstly a poet , then a musician... Thanks The Cure, for emotions you give us ! (seen last time in Milan, november 22)
Classic Cure. Long, long introduction which was amazing then Robert blends in his dark, depressing voice and the magic of The Cure happens yet one more time. Can't wait to see them live next month. Every concert is a treat for the soul and nobody but Robert Smith could pull this off song after song.
Instantly became one of the most important cure songs to me. It resonated deep in my heart like the ringing of a bell... deep & moving like all of their music... a experience I will never forget
I think the song which they perform currently as Endsong is effectively Moonsong, but who cares? The only thing I care is when are they finally going to release that new album?
Moonsong and Endsong are both listed, so I think they are separate- but I’m with you. I love getting one new song every couple of weeks, but it’s time for the album. According to Reeves, each time they tweak a new song when playing it live, Robert gets the urge to adjust the studio version.
Beautiful and sad! It looks like the entire album is going to be played live. I'm loving it so far. Four more songs to go if the rumors are true that it's a 10-track album.
Are we suer that "It Can Never Be The Same" will not be on the record? anyway, it will be a very beautiful, sad and depressive (in the best possible way) record.
The remaining songs are Vanishingsong, Feather and the Waves, Moonsong and No Care. Maybe ICNBTS turns up as a bonus track, but I doubt it. He tends to suggest that those songs were written by a band that doesn’t exist anymore.
It's harder to hold on With every passing year As the memories fade You slowly disappear I try to keep you close Alive in my heart Though with no one there to hold me I'm coming apart And your birthday is the worst day I'm singing to a ghost Happy birthday I forget how it goes And I'm all dressed up I know it isn't right Pour myself another glass Turn off all the lights And sit for a while Aching and alone Waiting in the dark for you So I sit for a while Aching and alone Waiting in the dark for you To come home

Pretty sure they are using a musical technique called “secondary diminished” normally found in jazz and classical music. Nice hearing rock bands experiment with more dissonant colors

I think you are wrong - he plays keyboards actively in many songs. His guitar is obviously pretty much heard and useful on Wish and Bloodflowers era songs....if they are played. What strikes me more, he is not as energetic as he used to be in the past...and I don't know whether it is due to his age or he just does not feel as much happy being back to the band.

In this case it is quite literally Classic Cure seeing as the instrumental part of this song stems back to Bloodflowers.

I would LOVE to hear this song in Miami on July 1. This is my favorite of the new songs.
Robert is the Master. He corrected Reeves Gabrels at 1:10 who totally wasn't in this song. But Robert saved this beautiful song. All love to him.

Please release this album sooner than later. Disintegration 2!

It's harder to hold on
With every passing year
As the memories fade
You slowly disappear
I try to keep you close
Alive in my heart
Though with no one there to hold me
I'm coming apart
And your birthday is the worst day
I'm singing to a ghost
Happy birthday
I forget how it goes
And I'm all dressed up
I know it isn't right
Pour myself another glass
Turn off all the lights
And sit for a while
Aching and alone
Waiting in the dark for you
So I sit for a while
Aching and alone
Waiting in the dark for you
To come home
I am dressing up in a dark blue, as in a dream.

Yes indeed! One of my favourites which did not make it to Bloodflowers.

Fantastica!
Aquí mi humilde esfuerzo de traducirla al español:
Es más difícil resistir
Con cada año que pasa
Mientras los recuerdos se alejan
Desapareces lentamente
Trato de mantenerte cerca
Viva en mi corazón
Aunque nadie está allí para abrazarme
Me estoy desmoronando
Y tu cumpleaños es el peor día
Le estoy cantando a un fantasma
Feliz cumpleaños
Olvidé lo que sigue
Y estoy disfrazado
Sé que no está bien
Me sirvo otra copa
Y apago todas las luces
Me siento por un rato
Adolorido y solo
Esperando en la oscuridad por tí
Me siento por un rato
Adolorido y solo
Esperando en la oscuridad
Que vengas a casa.
Una melodia dulce y triste a la vez😔😪
Trilce
Great!!
WOW... BEAUTIFUL

☄️ AHEAD OF THE FRONT OF ❌CELLENCE ☄️
This song is not really a new one, it is based on an instrumental demo ("Lost flower 1") from the "Bloodflowers" sessions.
❤❤❤
was originally composed in 1997-1998.
Robert composed it inspired by the note of...happy birthday to you.
This "gothic ballad" almost made it onto the bloodflowers album.
I’m like 333 and my birthday was on the day this was live
This new album sounds like a top 3 or 4 of their catalogue so far. Wow...but will we live to hear the entire thing?
