I am from S.E.Asia and I travelled to many S.E.Asian countries and I noticed that alot of Chinese tourist from China like to leave their bags unattended to take photos. They forgot that they are not in China anymore. I would like to remind tourists that they should not do that even in Singapore because there are alot immigrant workers from other countries. Stay safe.

You are right. Chinese they are so used to wander around freely without have to worry about safety in China and many are very naive thinking other countries are the same as China and they can do the same. Only when they are in trouble then they know it is not the same as in China. But it is too late.

In China, people don't have the concept of dangerous area. Everywhere is the same. People can walk to any corner of the city if he is just curious about people living in that area. And this is not just in recent time but when I was a kid in 1980s. But still, don't take safety for granted, always be cautious even in China, girls should not go out alone to remote area at midnight.

It is an irrelevant and idiotic question. Every where in the world can be unsafe if you are unlucky. The real comparison is CRIME rates per 100,000 persons. In general, I would say that China is much safer than most Western countries, particularly the US. I live in San Francisco; there are parts in this city I would NEVER set foot in at night. So don't ask this silly question, China is safer than anyplace in the world.

The security situation in China is very bad. China's youth unemployment rate has increased in recent years, leading to a deterioration in public security. A woman was once assaulted by a drunkard at a barbecue restaurant; there was also someone who deliberately drove a vehicle into pedestrians crossing the road; and there was someone who stabbed elementary school students to death in front of the school with a knife. The abduction and trafficking of women has always been a social problem in China. A large number of women are kidnapped in China every year and trafficked to remote mountain villages in China. The Chinese government can do nothing to solve this problem.
