as a local, (I spent the day in downtown Mystic and at the village today! ) All I have too say is Why would you come here in the winter??? Mystic is AWESOME! when the weather is nice (and kids are in school)

As a native of CT I would recommend Mystic Seaport over Mystic Aquarium if you only have 1 day and have to choose ( though they are doable in one day if you have a car). Its very hard to get around CT without a car as public transport is inconsistent. The Norwalk Aquarium is also great and not very far from that is the Beardsley zoo. I definitely reccomend people check out the stowe and twain houses in hartford as well as the wadsworth. Kent Park is lovely. There is a lot to do in CT . The people can seem a bit stand offish but we love sharing our state. Thanks for vlogging your experience! Looking forward to checking out the rest of your journey. Doing all 50 is a goal of mine, so far I am at 31.

Mystic Pizza--not to be confused with garlic flavored cardboard which actually DOES have flavor. The best pizza in Mystic is Angie's at the corner of rte 1 and rte 27.
we can argue best in Mystic, but I'm a huge fan of Angies too.. depending on my mood, Mangoes in the OMV is good too.. miss Pizzetta, but we are so spoiled for good food in town :)

Years ago, my husband and I docked our boat at a marina behind the Mystic train station. We slept on the boat on weekends and whenever the train whistle would blow while we were sleeping, it startled us! In 1984 before I met my husband, he had the chance to buy either one condo next to the drawbridge in Mystic for $84,000 or two boat slips at the marina that were also $84,000 for two combined. He chose to buy the two boat slips. He sold both boat slips a few years ago and we now keep our boat in Clinton Connecticut since it is closer to home and no highway traffic jams. You are lucky to get between $10,000-$25,000 for a boat slip and the condos are now worth over a million! Hind sight is 20/20

If you do visit make it to East Haddam really beautiful town!! Close to Mystic as well. There are small close adorable towns near you can drive through and visit quickly! Chester, Deep River & Essex it’s a beautiful day trip!
Red 36 is amazing. You walked by the green I played many community concert band concerts at. Swift attended and bought kids ice cream. Fun times there. Great ice cream at that bridge the sea port it’s awesome.
Another amazing vlog, honestly one of the best! I haven’t mentioned this before but your editing is always so spectacular. If I didn’t know better I would say it’s done by some high end Hollywood studio level experts! So not sure which of you does the editing but awesome work. Love the aquarium. Great little town. They only scratched the surface. Good tip about avoiding eating at Mystic Pizza. Replica of the Mayflower is not usually in Mystic but in Plymouth MA. It was just in Mystic for repairs. But there are some good exhibits at Mystic Seaport.
the 'So good to see you' sign was up in 2021 :) It was sad that our 7' Shamrock for the Irish Parade hung from March 2020 and the shutdown straight through to October when we were allowed back in the state controlled bridge building to take it down...such a weird memory...
Love Mystic great video and editing. That breakfast looked great no eggs for me but bacon and home fries. The aquarium is really nice the best one I ever seen was in Chicago close 2nd is Boston and Baltimore

Why am I getting so sad that this 50 states adventure is almost over?! I know you’ll still have so much fun to share with us, but it feels like the end of an era. Lol I didn’t even know this town was a place but I DID know about the lemon and Diet Coke! I’m a Diet Pepsi drinker and lemon in Diet Coke is the only way I can tolerate it. Lol 😂 the beluga whale was so cute!!
I love aquariums I am headed to sioux falls on Thursday and I think I have everyone to go eat at Matildas then drinks at the treasury. Hopefully nothing changes.

WOW that sunset was beautiful 😍 I saw the movie Mystic Pizza years ago, very cute movie. I wish you would've went inside, but I get it, you would feel obligated to patronage the establishment, after the nice uber driver said do not eat there 😆 Btw, we visited Baltimore and DC this Memorial Day Weekend. Definitely watched your videos on those cities. I was hoping to eat at Faidleys for the crab cakes, but we got into town too late 😫 Ate at Philips Seafood, and it was awesome. The Bartender Michelle was great, even gave me and the hubby free shots and a froze' drink 😋 Wish we had more time to visit. The paddle boats, aquarium, and the casino down the road looked like so much fun. Have to go back!

Longtime Mystic resident here...the Uber driver did NOT steer you wrong. There are wayyy better places to grab food downtown or in the village. Definitely should visit in the summer when it really comes alive around here and we have all the art and music festivals.

Yes, the DJI Mavics are great, and he does a really good job! I have a Mavic mini that we take on vacations just because it is so easy to carry around. I also wanted to say thanks for sharing a bit of your faith on your channel. I get the impression when you say "pray for us" you really mean it. I know that you don't want to alienate any of your fans, but I appreciate your expressions of faith. I am a Christian who teaches chemistry (I know strange combo) at a small college in Missouri. I too try to share my faith from time to time in inviting and encouraging ways. Hope your adventures just get better and better!

I live in downtown mystic actually grown up here my dad had Texaco station here in 60 and 70’s , across the tracks from train station in the island with 3 marinas.. i could’ve let you stay here ?? Cuz I love people and sharing my town,, kayaking in mystic river .. well I’m a frontliner and I love sharing my town and showing you the best you don’t know I’m sorry I’m not sure where you got your info but it’s ok ,, real facts lmk.. .. Taylor ughh u don’t know what she did but Anyways I wish I knew you were here I would’ve actually showed Mystic .. u did the tourist thing sad😢.. ext time you’re here lmk I’ll show you the real stuff .. this is just tourist stuff you missed everything Mystic cuz u didn’t have someone to show you the real experience from someone that has grown up here.. u only saw what maybe google said to see sad😢.

I live here too. This is a good summary. I would also add Lake Compounce in Bristol for that classic wooden roller coaster vibe.

This is my backyard! The Seaport is a must do, sorry it was closed. And dinner outside at Jealous Monk around the fire is another must!

You should come back to Connecticut and go to Litchfield,ct. It is so beautiful and so much to do.
WOW that sunset was beautiful 😍 I saw the movie Mystic Pizza years ago, very cute movie. I wish you would've went inside, but I get it, you would feel obligated to patronage the establishment, after the nice uber driver said do not eat there 😆
Btw, we visited Baltimore and DC this Memorial Day Weekend. Definitely watched your videos on those cities. I was hoping to eat at Faidleys for the crab cakes, but we got into town too late 😫 Ate at Philips Seafood, and it was awesome. The Bartender Michelle was great, even gave me and the hubby free shots and a froze' drink 😋 Wish we had more time to visit. The paddle boats, aquarium, and the casino down the road looked like so much fun. Have to go back!

Longtime Mystic resident here...the Uber driver did NOT steer you wrong. There are wayyy better places to grab food downtown or in the village. Definitely should visit in the summer when it really comes alive around here and we have all the art and music festivals.

Yes, the DJI Mavics are great, and he does a really good job! I have a Mavic mini that we take on vacations just because it is so easy to carry around.
I also wanted to say thanks for sharing a bit of your faith on your channel. I get the impression when you say "pray for us" you really mean it. I know that you don't want to alienate any of your fans, but I appreciate your expressions of faith. I am a Christian who teaches chemistry (I know strange combo) at a small college in Missouri. I too try to share my faith from time to time in inviting and encouraging ways. Hope your adventures just get better and better!

We went to Mystic this past week, but we couldn’t find Mystic Seaport. The signs are very confusing.
I'm local live 1 mile from Downtown Mystic love Mystic . My daughter name Mysti we named her from Mystic just with out C .
I live in downtown mystic actually grown up here my dad had Texaco station here in 60 and 70’s , across the tracks from train station in the island with 3 marinas.. i could’ve let you stay here ?? Cuz I love people and sharing my town,, kayaking in mystic river .. well I’m a frontliner and I love sharing my town and showing you the best you don’t know I’m sorry I’m not sure where you got your info but it’s ok ,, real facts lmk.. .. Taylor ughh u don’t know what she did but Anyways I wish I knew you were here I would’ve actually showed Mystic .. u did the tourist thing sad😢.. ext time you’re here lmk I’ll show you the real stuff .. this is just tourist stuff you missed everything Mystic cuz u didn’t have someone to show you the real experience from someone that has grown up here.. u only saw what maybe google said to see sad😢.
