MARTY! I've wanted to play the guitar my whole life but I was to busy being a grown up with to many responsibilities. I'm 71 now, and I'm glad I found you! I'm hooked, and I refuse to grow up any more. Looking forward to your lessons!!! Thank you, Rick

We lost my very cool and loved nephew David this year. I decided to pick up his guitar and push me now at 54 to honor him by learning how to play it, instead of leaving it sit there idle. He loved music and I hope he is happy that I am doing this on his honor. Marty, I love your approach, thank you for making it friendly and give hope that it can be done. I am watching school of rock. Dude, you are by-far the best in the biz when it comes to guitar lessons on UA-cam. I love how it's just one (or 2 easy) chords per lesson. Aside from that exposure, I came from a background of piano and the guitar was always something I wanted to begin, but just couldn't seem to shift my thinking over from keys to strings. I have tried several times over the years and almost gave up, but since watching your first lesson, I am strumming chords and making music with an ease, confidence, happiness I've never felt before. Your lesson series is superb Marty - thank you. I've tried learning various different things off UA-cam but the lesson series I've tried to follow have invariably been useless. The pace is just right for me, and the reassurance that everything will sound rubbish to begin with is very welcome indeed. Actually my G sounded all right straight off, and, listening to your comments, I found myself feeling pleased with myself that it wasn't too plunky!
I must say I can't get the A chord to sound nice though. I'm finding a 2-1-3 fingering working best at the moment, but I'm still struggling to get my fingers reliably near enough to the fret without touching each others' strings. Bah!

know this is really late but im in the same situation as you! (or should i say the situation you WERE in). can get the g chord relatively easy but the a major my fingers keep touching off other strings. I'm sure with practice I'll get better though :)

Now that I am 50 my love for guitar and getting back to it has been sparked again thanks to your beginner video lessons. I can’t believe how much I learned in these first three lessons and how your techniques and insights are helping me get back to playing right away. 👏

I like that Marty emphasize that even real beginner can playing lovely tunes.. It so encouraging to know that just with few cords I can play lot of songs. Many other tutorial spend too much time on technicalities that hard to grasp for beginner and the end results is that you want to give up as you find it too hard.
    Let's go Marty!

I’ve been playing guitar on and off since I was 6. A few years ago I got back into it and started relearning chords by looking up diagrams. I got much better than I ever was but since I taught myself I never found the right flow and sound. I decided to relearn everything using your videos and it has really been helping me, and this is someone talking with previous guitar experience, so I can’t imagine how many beginners you’ve helped. Thank you for teaching others and re-teaching me the beauty of this instrument that I fell in love with. You seriously rock!
