@ 8:49 what exact brand and model is that black field jacket? Has rectangular pocket flaps, at least on top, which I have been looking for in field jackets for some time, it's quite a rarity and exception, the rule is the typical pointed ones, a la M65. Unfortunately this black jacket has slanted flaps for the lower pockets, man what is wrong with designers missing the simple rectangular flaps? A correction @8:57 , the G9 is the jacket model name, the brand who created it was Baracuta (UK). In fact that is the brand which created the Harrington jacket, at least according to the Wikipedia entry for Harrington Jacket. So there's no "Harrington" brand that created this type of jacket. Apparently the Harrington name comes from a character played by Ryan O'Neal in a soap opera from the 60s, who wore the jacket.
I don't want to be rude but that's not a trench coat you're wearing at 5:00, it's the trench coats minimalistic brother: a mackintosh coat, it has 1 line of buttons, no shoulder flaps, no belt, no gun flap, no back vent, no hook and eye. it is marketed as a trench coat on their site though
I've never heard of the brand Harrington Original but the original Harrington jacket is the Baracuta G9. Ryan O'Neill's character Rodney Harrington wore one in the TV show Peyton Place, hence the name.
Loving my Shacket from M&S UK, perfect for Autumn. I am also wearing a Barbour Duke in rustic, Levis Sherpa baige chord and knee length navy rain mac, autumn is a great season for mens fashion 👌
I buy them through end clothing that has a lot of high end/luxury brands and sometimes snipe them on sale. Got 3 Barbour jackets for $100 a piece and the flask aswell lol. Got a Wax Jacket but it’s tricky getting your size since they run out pretty quickly, keep an eye in that website and you might score a decent jacket as decent price (or clothes in general).
@@dereklap1159 I know, that doesn't negate the fact they are $400 in the US, where most people will be shopping for them if they are watching this video
Impeccable timing Jon, just the stuff I was looking for. I just got myself a bomber, been eyeing a Filson or Flint and Tinder jackets for a minute too.
Great choices and options here Jon! Check out Yeossol next time you looking for a dope casual or elevated classic jacket! I have the Urban Safari jacket coming in a mottled olive linen cloth!
I have the ring jacket balloon wool polo coat in navy. It’s fantastic. Incredibly thick and insulting (while being super soft and unlined, which is a testament to the quality of the wool). Expensive (I got it from the armoury in NYC four years ago for $2k I believe) but will last a lifetime. Recommended!
Ring Jacket is truly special. It'll be a fun review, and also great context for everything else you want. Definitely get something in a Balloon or Calm Twist fabric. Oh, or try their jersey button-up shirts.
Definitely want to add a Pea coat to my list not sure if there are any available online that's descent condition. Maybe I can get one for my birthday. Excellent content!
Chore coats and field coats have always been synonymous to me. I don’t consider any of the coats that were pictured to be field coats. Check out L.L. Bean, Eddie Bauer, or Land’s End field coats. I like the look and they look good over a sweater, vest, or fleece pullover.
One other timeless garment that can cover all seasons depending on the fabric and that is currently “trending” is the safari jacket, which, especially with a belt IMO, can look really good with a suit and effectively replace a jacket. Check out two Singapore brands, yeossal and collaro for their take on it. Great vid as always!
Filson is living off their reputation. Their quality has gone down, as most everything now comes from overseas. The exception is anything made from their Mackinaw wool. Those products are still made in the USA. The Mackinaw wool garments are fairly expensive, but the cost is worth it. They will last you a lifetime.
I like buying made in the U.S.A as the next man but just because something is made overseas doesn't mean it's worse, if you did a blind test with two of the same product with one made in the U.S and one made in Taiwan you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Now there are some really poor utility stuff made overseas but there is poor quality stuff made in the U.S aswell
Wow! I actually bought the Skymaster bomber Jacket a month ago. I love that bomber! I'm always in search for new bombers and the next one I want is a grey bomber jacket from suitsupply.
I've had my eye on the Flint leather jacket from Soul Revolver. Has anyone tried that company's products? Are they high-quality, durable and long lasting, or should I avoid that brand and look elsewhere. I purchased a Perry Ellis leather jack on sale and it's nice but after less than a year of wearing it the black finish has already started to wear off on the cuffs and elbows. I'm hoping to find something better. I like the clean style of that flint and I'm looking for something lightweight as I live in a warmer climate.
Living in San Francisco it’s hard to understand this whole Seasons thing. But this is one of those videos I love because a ton of these could make for one stylish layer... as long as it’s light. Looking into those Ventile fabric jackets. Thanks for another great video my dude.
You get some negatory flak below - but isn't all flak negatory - and I'm sorry to add more but that sherpa-lined trucker jacket's too long. They should fall to below the belt, yes, but that far? The great virtue of this style jacket is if you're a little long in the trunk & short in the leg, this will fix you up.

Your Bond Peacoat wasn't even a peacoat but a single breasted overcoat - which ironically, you did not mention even though they are the more typical overcoats over polo coats. Finally, your field jacket didn't really look like field jackets to me. That being said, personally I hope to see some reviews of overcoats. The market is saturated with polyester ones and I'm really struggling to find one in proper wool or, for something less common, corduroy.
I like the look of Harringtons, but I've never bought one because my brain just sees them as "over 50 suburban dad" jackets. 😂 Looking to size down on a camel overcoat to wear casually.
