Very pleased to hear you highlight Clapton's playing on "E.C. Was Here". I think his often overlooked 48-bar solo on "Ramblin' On My Mind" is some his finest playing ever.
Wow! This is SO great! I just love your playing. Speaking of EC Was Here, I think some of Clapton's best playing ever is on "Ramblin' On My Mind". I love the new personalities that emerge with each key change and by the time he finally works his way back up to "E" I start to get chills. I've never seen any UA-cam instructors tackle that solo. Thanks for the amazing content.
I could listen to this over and over again. Some of the most tasteful playing ever and the tone is killer. He definitely hits Clapton phrasing from that era.
Superb dive into the Em blues that have so many facets to explore. Great soulful playing & flawless instruction. As you say "practice the crap out of it." Amen.
Flawless string bending and vibrato technique, plus some tasteful "less is more" rhythm playing during the keyboard solo. Jeff makes it look easier than it actually is.
I just really appreciated this today! I’m already making better note choices in my solos, by thinking about chord changes and the notes within each of those chords while playing. It’s temporarily slowing down my playing lol. You are right, it is much easier than trying to think in terms of blending major and minor pentatonic positions together. 💡 However, I’ve been working on mixing positions for so long, It’s hard not to see those too. I think that’s a good thing though. Now I’ll work on outlining chord shapes and surround them with tasty pentatonic licks. It’s gonna be good! Thanks Jeff, I can’t wait for the next one!!
Very Special Lesson. .. Great Sounds and Touch Filling on Guitar Mood. .. Thank' s so Much Mr. Mcerlain for this vdc Istructional Play Guitar Blues ... ☺😊😀/💙💙💙/👍👌👏👋
Great stuff Jeff love a lot of the greats but Eric & Peter Green are definitely up there - terrific lesson wonderful content- as always your playing is so inspiring thank you👍🎸🎶🤟
Awesome lesson as normal 😀 have nearly all of your Truefire courses so far 👍👍 Can you please do a course on how you play so loud in an apartment without your neighbours banging on the floor & walls 😵
Been watching a ton of your great videos! String gauge has come up a few times... and I'm wondering why I can bend heavier B & G strings so easy, but anything more than a 9 for the high E kills my weak fingers. Why might that be? Is it string tension? I thought it might be because lack of fingerboard, but not too sure. Seems if we can bend heavier strings so easy... why not the high E that is a lighter gauge than those? Thanks!
Jeff Johnny Winter is a big influence on me I'm sort of a recent guitar player only really doing five years or so but is there a difference between learning Eric Clapton blues and Johnny Winter blues and maybe you could do a little session on Johnny Winter and talk about the difference thank you
Between you, Tom Bukovac and others we unsigned afficiandos are being treated to such massive content it feels like stealin'. Each video is equivalent to a month of Sunday's woodshedding.
Nice SATOR on your wall. That’s an unusual thing to have. I have one of these as I’m interested in folklore and occult stuff (I live in a very pagan part of the Shire, UK) What’s the story with that? Thanks for the Clapton Jeff.
Hey! The first known one was found at Pompeii. We are Roman Antiquities fans in the house. So that’s the basis for this one. Ancient Rome. I’ve had the good fortune to go to Pompeii, one of my favorite places.
@@JeffMcErlain it’s a very cool and mysterious object. Pompeii must have been amazing. We have lots of Roman sites here but ours is a modern stone cut locally. Always a good talking point back when we used to have actual people come to our house....
Hilarious! Was a huge Evel fan as a kid! Just watched this and then saw Evel in your vid. What does it mean? Haha! ua-cam.com/video/0S480RRRVvw/v-deo.html
Sounds a lot like the live stuff on the compilation album “blues”.. I think the recordings were from the 70s , my favourite Clapton era personally. As great as the 60s stuff was I prefer his playing once he got a strat in his hands personally.
Definitely . Dont get me wrong I love the bluesbreakers and cream but I found Clapton as a kid on the unplugged album and worked backwards from there , that blues album is still some of my favourite guitar playing ... the solos on double trouble and driftin blues .. so good! Thanks for the content !!

No better way to spend one hour of your day than listening to the amazing talents of JM. Thank you Jeff. 👍🏻😎👊🏻

Damn this is one of the best blues lesson ever!
Well thank you very much!
Best TRUEFIRE Instructor! ✨🎸✨
Thank you!!
No shit. Clear, friendly and can connect with guitar players like a friend would. I think I have 8 of his courses.
As always Jeff terrific stuff when I hear a blues solo in my head this is it!🙌 thank you wonderful content & info
Superb dive into the Em blues that have so many facets to explore. Great soulful playing & flawless instruction. As you say "practice the crap out of it." Amen.
Thank you for positive comment George, I really appreciate it! 🙌
I didn’t grow up with blues and took up guitar a few years ago. Your work is helping me a great deal. Many thanks Jeff
Hi Dave, thanks so much for letting me know! It means a lot to me. Glad to hear you are progressing!
Gorgeous. And not a diminished scale to be heard anywhere.
Ha! Thanks
Just had to revisit this lesson Jeff terrific content keep going over stuff - your playing is just wonderful- great stuff 🎸🎶👏
What a great lesson! Decided to give this a go on my Les Paul and loved every second of it. Thanks Jeff
Thank you!
Hi Jeff and all. Had to watch early Sat AM. Eric Clapton still rules ! Thanks for all the insight. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✌🏻&❤️
Thanks my friend!!
Wow. Brilliant stuff Jeff. I heard about this channel through 5 watt world. I wish I'd found you years ago. Brilliant.
Excellent and thanks! Glad you are here now!

Thank you! I’m so glad this resonated with you. Yes, it’s really about the chord changes. It’s worth the effort as you know.
Very nice class u realy enjoyed and lerned a lot, thanks!
Oh my days!, Jeff, where have you been all my 'guitar playing' life.
lol! Thank you! Well you’re here now!

Wow first 30 seconds is all you need. Wish I could of been there live!
Thank you!
Way kewl! Thanks :D I could have used these tips back in 1966. :)
I could have used them in 1968!
Great stuff Jeff love a lot of the greats but Eric & Peter Green are definitely up there - terrific lesson wonderful content- as always your playing is so inspiring thank you👍🎸🎶🤟
Ah thank you! I really appreciate that you took the time to let me know this. Wishing you the best. 🖖🏻
Awesome lesson as normal 😀 have nearly all of your Truefire courses so far 👍👍 Can you please do a course on how you play so loud in an apartment without your neighbours banging on the floor & walls 😵
Lol! It’s not loud! Either an amp into an OX or I’m using the Fractal FM3 into studio monitors. Television volume.
Awesome tutorial Jeff, you are a great blues player. Is this backing track available for download?
Informative and inspiring!!! always!!!
🙌
Awesome stuff!!!
Amazing solo, Jeff. I'm going to transcribe and steal it for me. :)
Please do! I know I’ve stolen all of it as well! Lol
Great lesson Jeff. Heard around the practice studio,,,"The Blues are easy",,,well no, no its not when if its done right.
Thanks Earl. Well, as we know, almost nothing is easy when when done correctly!
Very useful
Just watched 'A life in 12 bars' about Clapton. I had no idea how difficult a life he triumphed over.
Wish I could get that tone on my spark amp, just started his blues course.

Just wow. I know what I’m doing this weekend. Sorry honey, sorry lawn. I got to go. Thank you!!
Have fun!

Nice one, ta fella.
There might be an opening on the upcoming Mike Tyson card ,if you guys are interested .

That’s a beautiful strat! Which one is it?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
man that organ sounds like it is wired to sound - blends so well with the other instruments
That’s a live track. My friend Todd Caldwell on B3.
@@JeffMcErlain yes I thought it probs was live. A B3 or a Rhodes through a Fender bassman = heaven!

Hi Jeff great lesson! Is that an Evel Knievel figurine hangin out on that guitar?
Thanks and yup, that’s Evil!

I just look at him as almost two different players and I love both! I do lean towards the Gibson/Marshall era though. 😉
