I like how that petition idea has aged with the announcement of 2.0 hahahhaha. I am literally buying a Shadow Caster tomorrow to practice for 2.0 when all 360 arcs work this way.
At ~18:45 you mention that black market slicer tools could be used defensively but the card states that you have to choose an enemy ship. Looks like a great card to counter the 'push the limit' aces lists.
The Nacelles are different but it's pretty close. This duplication problem may be inherent to; slapping cockpits and engines on pancakes. Eventually you'll get look-a-likes!
On the Black Market Slicer Tools, you can't use it "defensively" in the way you guys described it. Reading the card it says: "Action - Choose a stressed enemy ship at range 1-2...", so it needs to be an enemy ship, as opposed to any friendly one (including the one with BMST). Overall, it's now an anti-PTL mechanism... Looking forward to the next unboxings :)
This ship is actually from the clone wars and was to be Asajj's ship ...... and then Clone Wars got canceled before it was used. They repurposed the art assets for use in Rebels. This little tidbit of info makes the whole Asajj pilot make sense. BTW, great channel you guys have.
I'm not sure you've got the Black Market Slicer tools correct there. You said that you can remove stress from a friendly ship. The card reads, "choose a stressed enemy ship... on a hit or crit result remove 1 stress token and deal it 1 facedown damage card." I read that meaning that you can choose an enemy ship, if you're successful remove the stress on that ship and then deal it damage. I don't think you either remove your own stress or the stress of a friendly ship.
great video. these ships are built to have a pair run around the table kiteing the opponent around the edge of the table. they are a blast of fun to fly around the map with few upgrades, you will see lots of lists with two of these in formation with a ywing ion cannon. lots of plain ole fun.
Can you barrel roll the enemy ship into an asteroid? Rules state that you cannot perform a barrel roll if it would cause its base to overlap another ship or obstacle token. Would assume this applies even when barrel rolling an enemy ship?
I'm in agreement with you guys about the 360 firing arc. It's awful. And it's fixable. I have 2 ideas for solutions. 1. An EPT card called "Sharpshooter", which allows an opponent who hits a turreted ship to forgo any hull damage to destroy the opponent's ships turret weapon instead. 2. A rules revision allowing named pilots (you gotta have experience for this stuff) to call target a turret with their primary weapon. If the offensive ship gets one hit through, the turret is destroyed. Here's the thing. Ive read lots of the novels in the EU, and they specifically state that turret weapons don't have very long ranges. So, FFG probably should've limited the range of turrets in the first place. I remember a scene from one of the "X-Wing" EU novels in which Wedge Antilles just stays out of the range of a turret, and just picks off the ship with his longer-range weapon.
Big Ship can't arc dodge? Super Dash does not approve. Shadowport Hunter could be better than a trandoshan slaver in the two scout and slaver build. No space for upgrades but it's got a better firing arc (which is odd to say a negative thing about the yv-666) and it can k-turn.
"Falcon is going to shoot you every turn. Period. But, that needs to have a cost." Umm, why not the actual cost (i.e. squad points)? To me, the 360 arc belongs where it is and increases ships' cost the requisite (high) amount. It feels very thematic to have "the ship's computer" using the 360 mounted guns to acquire and shoot at targets. It feels even more thematic that there is another computer system (Autothrusters) that actively works to negate an enemy ships targeting. This mobile firing arc feels like "manual" targeting that would effectively negate the Autothrusters system. Both obviously belong in the game and I even feel they are accurately priced. FFG has done such a good job of balancing things, and rebalancing when needed, that this is just one thing that doesn't need adjusting.
+Team Covenant I assume you are referring to the scene with Han and Luke. That was a great scene, but that doesn't mean that the cannons couldn't be activated remotely. In the Wookiepedia article for the AG-2G quad laser cannon, it explains the remote firing options from the Falcon's cockpit. Maybe to fit the theme of the Falcon, a new upgrade card could be "Not Out Of This Yet". It would remove the full 360 arc and give the falcon a mobile arc. There would have to be extensive playtesting to see what kind of cost (or negative cost) it would have and/or if it would give any other bonuses.
Whew. Caused a few near heart attacks over here! If it makes you feel better, we did not research anyone ahead of time. Usually Zach has the knowledge since he is such a fan, but he has lost his privileges now!
Oh, ok. Sorry 'bout the heart attacks. I appreciate you replying, it's actually the first time a channel has replied to my comments. Anyway, --Zach has lost his privileges-- If ya'll call him out about losing privileges, that'd be hilarious.
i'll sign a petition to update all 360 large ships to use the mobile firing arc!
I like how that petition idea has aged with the announcement of 2.0 hahahhaha. I am literally buying a Shadow Caster tomorrow to practice for 2.0 when all 360 arcs work this way.
Black Market Slicer Tools can be used only on enemy ships!
Getting my box tomorrow, can't wait
So right! Thank you! Enjoy that box.
Starfleet called. They want their Defiant class ship back.
At ~18:45 you mention that black market slicer tools could be used defensively but the card states that you have to choose an enemy ship. Looks like a great card to counter the 'push the limit' aces lists.
Yeah we just straight up zoned out on that one. Thanks for the catch!
NP, easy to do. Thanks for the videos!
when I first saw this ship I couldnt help but think that it looks like the defiant from star trek. Yea, I just googled a photo. Its the same ship.
The Nacelles are different but it's pretty close. This duplication problem may be inherent to; slapping cockpits and engines on pancakes. Eventually you'll get look-a-likes!
Pre-painting research has already begun...

So right! Thank you!
I guess we will see YV-666 ( the 180 degrees firing arc one) with Igg 88D, Bossk and any Cannon paired with a certain Ig -88.
Ketsu Onyo I believe is Sabine's friend, also a female character :D
what's happening with Zach @16:55 ?? he got edited out for some reason? :)
That was not edited and it terrifies all of us.
Was he briefly transported to the Upside Down? #justiceforzach
Oh zack
your wink to the camera made my day

So Zach WAS right?!
Thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to trying this ship. Where's the review of the Protectorate?
Just posted Sean! Nice avatar!

You're so right. Thank you for the catch!
The IG-88 synergy reminds of the katana fleet from the old expanded universe a fleet all slaved together to a main flagship
RIP Tycho. Thanks for coming Grand Inquisitor and Soontir Fel. It's gonna be a weird stress-phobic meta.

I am trying to put together a 100 pt build that includes one Shadow Caster and 2 Protectorate Starfighters.

Michael Gilchrist read the tractor beam instructions. Yes, you can. That's the whole point of tractor beam (besides the agility reduction).
This ship makes me wish I had started buying scum a long time ago.
16:57 - be careful, you're glitching :)
That is the strangest thing. It wasn't edited! Ah! Freaking us out now. Need to have a talk with Zach. Maybe a human test.
What happens to Zach between 16:56 and 17:04?
The upside down?
The black market slicer tools says choose an stressed ENEMY ship so i don't think that you can take your own stress.
You can't do what the card clearly says you can't do! Who would have thought... Thank you!
Love you guys..

Turrets at standard Range 2 or less! That's tasty.
You guys a good at explaining things nice
I'm a Casual gamer and struggle on getting the best out of my cards combos
But this is pretty cool 😎
Glad to have you Simon! Thank you for watching. Combos are hard :/
Please link to your t-shirt with Rey.
It is awesome.

How does the new action work?
You take your action and decide which of the 4 quarters becomes your secondary firing arc
although I think you should add an extra die if the mobile and primary arcs are pointing the same way.

But remember that scene where Chewie and Luke are manually shooting down TIEs?! Good points though!

I was so confused at 17:00
I think you forgot one pilot, the ps5 with an ept
Ooops my mistake, i thought about the protectorate
But seriously, I'm not angry. I liked the video.
Whew. Caused a few near heart attacks over here! If it makes you feel better, we did not research anyone ahead of time. Usually Zach has the knowledge since he is such a fan, but he has lost his privileges now!

I just want to add to the many others about how you were WRONG about Slicer tools. I feel better than you now!! Thanks for that!
Haha thanks Jasper.
Ketsu is female, though! :D
sorry to say but Ketsu is a female, the rest of the video is flawless mostly but just trying to clear something up
Haha, yeah. Many people have mentioned that. A shame! Also, we now know that she is an awesome character.
Ummm... Ketsu is a female, not a male.
Yes, thank you for the catch. Sorry about that one!
Ketsu Onyo is a she, not a he.
Indeed, we got it wrong. Thank you for the catch!
KETSU'S A GIRL!!! A LADY!!! A WOMAN!!! WHY DO YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH ON EVERYONE *BUT* KETSU?!?!?!
