I've had to leave all sims groups cause got tired of watching the same thing over and over again. New pack comes out, people buy it and are enraged its broken. Spend the next month complaining about it. Then a new pack comes out and those same people rush to buy it before even looking into reviews or gameplay content. If there was a record drop in sales they'd have to address it because $$$. There's no reason for EA to fix the game when people are still throwing money at it.
I 100% agree with you. Also, that button is a break of immersion and intrusive, since it's not a part of the gameplay. That should be a main menu tab, or at least be featured in the game menu.
Stuff like this is why I'm glad I've been completely consumed by BG3 for the past several months and not even thinking about any EA BS. Really looking forward to Life by You, Paralives, and other life sim games that will hopefully relieve us of EA's dominance over this genre's market.
I don't care about them trying to sell me stuff... but if it keeps pulsating... that's going to annoy me into not playing anymore so hope that's not true
I feel like that icon was designed specifically for players that are just now getting into sims. Cause why would simmers who constantly play the game need that icon, when we are always on edge and lookout for new packs?

My sim often says they are uncomfortable due to dirty surroundings and I found out its the rice cooker. When I removed it the mood let went away, I wish they would fix this
The rice cooker is a mess. One time my Sim came back from traveling and the rice cooker had soap bubbles pouring out of it and spilling onto the floor. She had never even used it. And then a minute later, the bubbles just disappeared. Plus, if you have the Fresh Chef trait, all of your food is supposed to never go bad, but the food from the rice cooker spoils as though you don't have the trait. I got rid of mine.

Those For Rent updates sound good! I haven’t got the pack because it so broken. I didn’t hear them mention the lag I know people are experiencing… I may still wait to hear what others with the pack think with this update
People got mad when Poppy Playtime just had a merch section on the main menu This is insane overkill. As soon as you open the game 6/7th of the damn screen is already dedicated to just the featured packs and kits and that tiny bar at the last 1/7th of the screen is like “continue game? Aaaaaand here’s more info on the online experience where people use packs that you don’t have!!” Now we’ll have no peace even during gameplay? Like, fuck *OFF* EA, focus on fixing your shit first, you’re a multimillion dollar company
I loaded the game and saw the shopping cart immediately. I went to this video to see what you were going to say on the issue. So tired of EA being just brazenly money grubbing at this point.
The button is worse than you think, the flashing can cause people with epilepsy seizures, and others with sensory issues also have similar health issues and get sick because of the button, they can't even play the game because of the flashing button, much less use it to buy things.
as someone who works in sales, this is just way too much for customers! and if there’s no way to turn it off, or at least stop the pulsing, it’ll feel like the equivalent of not being able to opt out of promotional texts or emails from a company.
If they wanted an in game way to sell things they could've added a new option to the computers actually in the game and added a Shop or a Buy to the computer menu, that takes you to the shop page, instead of a flashing button that causes health problems.
The upside for me is I’m blind in one eye so can’t physically look at the entire screen at once.. and this is on the right upper corner and I’m blind in the right side. But it’s SO annoying! It doesn’t need to flash! They could’ve just made the button green to stand out
I didn't even realize it was there until I saw this, and I've literally had my game open for the last 10 minutes. It says that I have all the packs when I don't lol love the bugs of sims 4!
I actually like playing scenarios. It gives me a good starting place when I haven’t played the game in a while and don’t know where to begin. Would love for them to continue making more. I also noticed that they stopped adding new ones.
Yeah if they wanted to advertise packs they could put out pack specific ones like focusing on making a bakery with Get to Work or a fallen celebrity from Get Famous. If the story sounds interesting enough people might want to spring for a pack
@@emp116 Or at least run contests where people can submit ideas/scripts and people can vote on them. I also wish the game would suggest them for current sims when it might fit. That they would put time and resources into adding a throbbing in game icon to get you to buy packs instead of fixing the packs they want you to buy is so wild it's almost funny.
a button that telling you to buy the pack but not telling you if the pack has bugs. good job ea. cough cough for rent, the unit system cough cough my wedding stories and more
Everything I turn around there's another "controversy" when it's more of an inconvenience to complain about. This though I only agree with because it's bound to be annoying enough to discourage not only old but new players from wanting to play. If I learned anything, it's that if you push to much, it doesn't work. This button is pushing to much.
yeah, definitely getting annoyed with how he titles his videos. same with "HUGE UPDATE" that every simmer does, and when you check it out it's like... a new wallpaper or something.
@SimlikeitHot I think the button alone isn't the issue. It's another issue that's added to the pile of issues already in place. I really hope it doesn't open up a loading screen to the store because I can see myself accidentally clicking it which ends up pausing my game to load another screen. If it does that, oof. But I know someone will likely make a mod to hide it lol
In this case it can be an actual issue because the way the icon flashes and moves can be dangerous to someone with photosensitive epilepsy Inconvenience for us? Sure. But legit dangerous for others.
@elvingearmasterirma7241 I hadn't thought about that! You're right! Goodness, I hope you CAN turn it off. And the fact it will be in the corner of the screen (therefore your eye) it will automatically lure your gaze to it.
@MakeSureYouCleanUp mods are all well and good, but they aren't always a solution. That and consol players don't have access to mods and are stuck on the whims of EA to fix things.
the Ranch Hand in my game was using my stove all the time making White Cakes I left my game running and there were these cakes everywhere I hope after the fix this stops. I had to eventually lock her out the house lol.
I thought I was gonna be more annoyed by it, but when I actually played I barely realized it was there. Never even saw it pulsate. Just completely blind to the extra icon. First time I love being a lil dumbass who can only focus on one thing at a time (making sure my infants don't get taken away :D) Feel for everyone else though!
A constantly flashing button, seriously? That's probably the worst idea ever. For neurodivergent people and those with epilepsy or migraine flashing lights can be a trigger (as is the case for my migraine). So, basically, the game is unplayable without a turn-off button for quite a few players. Guess I won't be spending any more money on Sims
I'm actually glad that my computer broke down just in time for this update. My autistic ass wouldn't be able to play the game properly, and I can carry most of my work over to my phone anyway.
I have ADHD and am, frankly, broke. This is not only annoying and distracting but just plain greedy and inconsiderate; if someone didn't buy a pack the game assume they would like after having to pass the EA page to open the game to a pack menu before loading their game in, it's safe to assume they (a) didn't want it or (b) couldn't afford it. I can't wait for the mod that shuts it off.
That new button is not appearing for me. (I play on console) The ones I was the most excited for are: The wallpaper fix for console, like FINALLY!, holidays now showing for every sim in the household, sims not eating prepped ingredients as leftovers and that purchased reward traits would not be possible to buy again after you bought it
I stopped playing about halfway through the Sims 3 lifespan when I had enough expansions that the game became near unplayable with multiple installed. I did pick up the Sims 4 at some point but didn't play for more than a week. The last Sims game I truly enjoyed was the Sims 2.
after i read the comment I think all players don't like it if the cart pulsates a lot and can disturb the player focus they are like telling us to buy all the packs when dine out is still didnt get any fix!.EA really need to get rid of it!!
Next step is, that they will show the unowned content in game - in build mode and create a sim - and after clicking it it will show you which pack to buy to get it 😭
And next step is micro transactions, own in game currency and loot and drops, and then Sims will be a money making machine for EA, like League of Legends for Riot 🤑
My menu is not showing well, like all icons get on top of each other, as if with the new shopping cart icon the menu doesn't have enough space to show all the icons properly >>
As sombody who doesn’t really care about any of the ea and sims team drama and kind of just sits back and laughs at everything, this annoyed me too, especially the fact that the icon will constantly be flashing as an autistic person, this might annoy and distract me… TOO FAR EA. TOO FAR…
Another update, and they still have yet to fix the multiple Spirit Day notifications with High School. Oh well, at least we get a new button to buy packs that NO ONE ASKED FOR.
So, I saw the cart icon and got excited, thinking there might be a new pack I missed. I own every single pack, so I was eager to check it out, but I was disappointed seeing the message and thought to myself "Why is this even here?". As to the 4Rent PK... My first build disappeared and even messed up my saved lot in the gallery. Like, it straight up replaced my lot with some bare bones version of a diffrent lot. Walls and floors? Nope, not anymore. A total mess, right?
The new button conflicts with my MCCC mod.. so the whole UI bar is messed up.. good news is its not flashing 😅 and thats the only thing that's messed up.
So basically they spend time putting this button that we absolutely don't need but fixing the problem with rent in the last expansion pack is not a priority.... the point of the expansion pack is to get money renting property!! And it's not working... I don't understand....
I absolutely will not be able to play with a button constantly flashing. I already can’t play with scenarios because of the extra UI thing in the top left that reopens any time you change sims or travel. It’s the same reason the first thing I do when I start a new save is go in and delete every holiday from the calendar. It takes up too much of my screen and pulls my attention away from playing the actual game. Then there are the unexpected holidays that pop up. Then there are all the extra little notification lights on UI panels like anytime there’s a milestone or the calendar light or the phone notification lights from the millions of infernal social bunny notifications! And don’t even get me started on all the pop up notifications whether it be the cell phone ringing constantly or even just the ridiculous amounts of notifications in the notification panel. WHY?! I already can’t use so many of the features I would actually like to use and paid for because the notifications are so intrusive on the senses when playing, and now there’s a whole new one that no one asked for. I really wanted the new stuff pack too but no point in buying it if I can’t even play the game because of a flashing button. I understand that some of the bugs in the game are not reasonably able to be fixed. It’s decade old tech, I can accept that. I just wish they’d stop “fixing” what isn’t broken by adding totally useless things.
I am completely agree with you, it's just uneccesary and make the gameplay annoying. I will speak for myself but I think alot of people will be agree with me, it is intrusive, I don't want constant reminders of buying things I can't even afford. $15 for Cats and Dogs and I feel like I've made a huge mistake.
Honestly! I got in to the sims like 3 years ago and I love it I really do but its getting so hard to be ok with this company and there are more packs I want but I also know they almost certainly don't work right. Its part of the reason I refuse to buy anything that isn't heavily marked down. I refuse to buy the kits. (minus the book nook kit I love books and couldn't help it) And like I waited for high school years (one of my top 3 reaaallly want) until it was half off. You won't catch me wasting $40 or $50 on a videogame that is a laggy, glitchy, glorified dollhouse. And its so annoying because I love the game and the idea of it soooo much. But I've alread sunk so much money into it that I feel like I might as well finish getting the packs I want then never paying for anything again.
@@linorder22 this is funny to me because i bought it for $39.99 💔 and I STILL feel like it wasn’t worth it

The fact that the icon constantly flashes the way it does non stop, like we don’t see them selling the packs everywhere else 🤦🏻♀️ really nervous for the sims 5 ngl
There is a reduced main menu screen by twistedmexi xx
Oh gosh, I just realised what tho is about 😡
Twisted Mexi will get rid of it,
@@bigcuppagirlsims7111 I will make sure to download that mod if he does!
Don't worry! I'm sure ParaLives or InZoi will come out before The Sims 5.
I fucking swear! They just keep trying to find new ways to piss us off!!
This is a HUGE deal!! I already push the wrong icons on accident. With it being right in the middle of the ones you actually want to push you’ll continue to get that screen of packs in your face. Cause you know that saying “out of sight, out of mind”, yea they do to. They know what they’re doing, making sure those packs are NOT out of sight. I HATE IT. IT’S GOING TO DRIVE ME NUTS!!
I still don’t understand why the gallery icon isn’t more obvious! I ALWAYS press the build/buy when I want the gallery 🤦🏻♀️ and I’ve got over 1000 hours in game

Ugh I can see my autistic self just distracted and annoyed by this pulsating button
Yeah, honestly, I'm autistic, this is my comfort game and I wanna cry because this could ruin it for me 😅😢
Fortunately I don't see it, but I can understand it can be annoying and frustrating for others! 😢
ADHD here and I find that very distracting and it will interfere with my gameplay. Did they not think about how distracting that would be for Neurodivergents or even anyone before releasing this update? It's going to be harder for me to focus on the packs I already bought with that cart flashing non stop.
literally same @@TheChlozie
@@TheChlozie literally, its so annoying. I really hope a mod comes out that fixes it, but who knows, even if it does I still feel bad for console players.
as someone whos got some issues with hyperawareness, any time there is something flashing or whatnot in the corner of the screen like in a game be it a blinking message icon or whatnot it drives me crazy. Atleast most of the time it can be solved by just clicking on it. This can't. I really hope a mod comes to solve this otherwise its gonna be a nightmare to play the game at all.
Twistedmexi will fix it pretty sharp ish, I’m sure. Keep an eye out x
If they don't I will be putting a sticker on my screen to block it from view
Why does it have to be there while I play the game??? I purposely don’t have some of the packs because they’re broken🙃
Or you just don’t want them.. like the stuff packs? The medieval pack.. I was so excited for that pack. I
Until it came out and I saw all the things it came with.. and found free CC that had all that and more.. this shopping cart in the cart. Is a slap to the face to the players. I get it that being a option at the menu but in game? Seriously!? Rude
I wish simmers stood they ground n just didn't run to buy every new thing they drop instead of demanding the game be fix first.
Same. They’re not even that nice or exciting lol other than 4 rent but atp why is anyone buying right away knowing it’s gonna be full of bugs 🫠
I guess I have a mod that disables it? Cause I don't have the icon *scratch
I haven’t played or bought anything since the Star Wars release. It needs to be fixed honestly & I’m not giving them anymore money.
@@goblintiddy4053 this is why I 🏴☠️ it lol
As someone who is a UX designer, the consistent pulsating is so obviously dumb
RIGHT? I am an UX intern and I know this is bullshit
It's been two years and the sims team haven't fixed the black and white for cross stitch, puzzle and other things for consoles!!
I gave up on the Sims 4 when no matter what I tried the game ignored the DLC packs I had installed with it on my PS 5.
I 100% agree with you. Also, that button is a break of immersion and intrusive, since it's not a part of the gameplay. That should be a main menu tab, or at least be featured in the game menu.
I hope theres a mod to remove it or turn it off, bc that'll get extremely distressing to constantly have something moving on my screen
THIS. i hope someone makes a mod for it soon because i tried playing today and my ADHD just couldn’t. had to stop playing
it just feels like a slap in the face at this point
Stuff like this is why I'm glad I've been completely consumed by BG3 for the past several months and not even thinking about any EA BS. I'm sure I'll be back to Sims eventually because it always draws me back but EA makes me so tired, especially now that I'm seeing first hand how much better players are treated by other development studios like Larian. Really looking forward to Life by You, Paralives, and other life sim games that will hopefully relieve us of EA's dominance over this genre's market.
Every time I think about updating the game and starting a new play, something comes up that makes me step back and not do it.
I left this game about 3 years ago, a very good decision.
I sincerely hope they give us the option to turn this off like we did in Sims 3... Otherwise this'll be a seriously annoying pain in the ass. It sounds so distracting 🥺
I own all the packs. This button better not light up.
Same
It pulsates even if you have them all
It will. They won’t make it different for some of us. Too much work. Twisted Mexi will fix it soon, I’m so sure

Great just proving sims is still a money grabber 🤦♀️
This is truly disgusting!
EA frustrates me so much. They take one step forward in the right direction, then they take another three back soon after. Very annoying
They need to give us the option to turn it off that is going to get very annoying.
If this shopping cart icon flashes or pulsates that can cause people with Photosensitive Epilepsy😟 to have seizures.😟 This is very dangerous and not fair to players. This shopping cart update can end in very costly litigations. EA is not concerned about customers only about making money.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Many people are photosensitive. I am 100% sure EA knows about this subject of flashing light that can induce seizures...every major game company is educated about it. EA will be forced to fix any flashing or they with have legal problems.
Many people do not even know that they have photosensitive issues especially kids. I am very sure EA knows that flashing in a game can cause customers to have seizures.
i have this and it's very minor seizures for me perosnally but it's still like... i may hold off on playing
@@nightfrost1891 I am very sorry you have seizures. Unfortunately no seizures are minor. Seizures especially Epilepsy ones can cause many problems from severe memory problems, SUDEP, balance, heart issues and so much more. Seizures affects people and EA knows better. We have sent hundreds of dollars (at least I did for over 21 years. thousands of dollars) invested into this game for them to do such evil and greedy things to customers.
We all deserve to play this game we have spent money on without getting sick. Fair is fair. Shame on EA.

Same here! I’m autistic , ocd and adhd. I totally relate. This update will make me quit playing hands down. Sucks cuz I took a two year break from sims 4 , started again last week and just see this today. My heart. It hurts XD
As an MMO player nothing chafes me more than buttons that lead you to shops in game. Praying for a mod that will remove this crap from my game.
I never make comments but this is something that really gets under my skin and if they keep it I actually think I would stop playing the game, I understand a lot of people can deal with it and it really isn't a big deal for them but I struggle with ocd and adhd and something like that would constantly have my attention all the time while I play and it would ruin the whole experience for me, I honestly hope they remove it, but seeing the downward train EA has been on for the last 3 years really makes me sad, at least we have so many other games who are willing to fill that space for us
especially when you’ve been playing for a decade and spent all your money on the previous packs. who in their right mind would do that?
I know it's just so heart breaking. I've been playing Sims 2 since I was a little kid its so sad to see 😢@zebras04
Did. Did they forget that people with photosensitive epilepsy exists? And most likely play their game??? Like-
i swear if it just spams journey to batuu to me because i refused to buy it im gunna throw a fit 😭
Imagine that you have all packs except buggy ForRant one and game now is pushing you to buy this last one aggresively
To those who play on PC: I know Twisted Mexi has updated their Better Build Buy mod with this update and has included the removal of this new "feature" so i suggest that. Tho you will not be able to only search for cc in build/buy mode with it. Only either no cc or base game and cc. Tho im sure there's other mods out there by now
Those For Rent updates sound good! I haven’t got the pack because it so broken. I didn’t hear them mention the lag I know people are experiencing… I may still wait to hear what others with the pack think with this update
A lot of parts of For Rent are really fun so hopefully this helps but I will wait to play with the update until my mods are updated
People got mad when Poppy Playtime just had a merch section on the main menu
This is insane overkill.
Having the button is one thing but making it flash is another... That would drive me batty IF I was still playing...
When i thinki that they cant damage the game any more, they do
I loaded the game and saw the shopping cart immediately.
That button being right next to the floor toggle arrows is diabolical.
Use PgUp or PGDn on your keyboard instead :)
Lovely!! A way to subconsciously encourage us to spend MORE money.... 😮💨 just what we all wanted.
as someone who works in sales, this is just way too much for customers! and if there’s no way to turn it off, or at least stop the pulsing, it’ll feel like the equivalent of not being able to opt out of promotional texts or emails from a company.
True
They should open scenario creation to the public
@@emp116 That would be so cool. I wonder if any of the modders have been able to do anything with that
@@emp116 Or at least run contests where people can submit ideas/scripts and people can vote on them. I also wish the game would suggest them for current sims when it might fit. I play mainly with one save I've been playing for a while with cyclical gameplay so I'm not going to start new games that much
That they would put time and resources into adding a throbbing in game icon to get you to buy packs instead of fixing the packs they want you to buy is so wild it's almost funny.
a button that telling you to buy the pack but not telling you if the pack has bugs. good job ea.
cough cough for rent, the unit system cough cough my wedding stories and more
Everything I turn around there's another "controversy" when it's more of an inconvenience to complain about.
In this case it can be an actual issue because the way the icon flashes and moves can be dangerous to someone with photosensitive epilepsy
Inconvenience for us?
I like getting all the packs as I can, but that is still nasty having that button.
the Ranch Hand in my game was using my stove all the time making White Cakes I left my game running and there were these cakes everywhere I hope after the fix this stops. I had to eventually lock her out the house lol.
I thought I was gonna be more annoyed by it, but when I actually played I barely realized it was there. Never even saw it pulsate. Just completely blind to the extra icon.
First time I love being a lil dumbass who can only focus on one thing at a time (making sure my infants don't get taken away :D)
Feel for everyone else though!
I don't want to buy new packs, when the existing ones don't even work😪
I'm actually glad that my computer broke down just in time for this update. My autistic ass wouldn't be able to play the game properly, and I can carry most of my work over to my phone anyway.
Sooooo if the pulsing effect on that button can't be turned off we'll consider that a bug, report it as such and wait 1.5 years for it to be fixed?
I have ADHD and am, frankly, broke. This is not only annoying and distracting but just plain greedy and inconsiderate; if someone didn't buy a pack the game assume they would like after having to pass the EA page to open the game to a pack menu before loading their game in, it's safe to assume they (a) didn't want it or (b) couldn't afford it. I can't wait for the mod that shuts it off.
That new button is not appearing for me. (I play on console) The ones I was the most excited for are: The wallpaper fix for console, like FINALLY!, holidays now showing for every sim in the household, sims not eating prepped ingredients as leftovers and that purchased reward traits would not be possible to buy again after you bought it
The button is not appearing for me on PC either.
I don’t mind about the icon…but if the pulsating things gets too annoying for me…guess I’ll need to bring out the tape and paper. 😂🙄
the shopping cart is very much giving "mobile game".
Next they're gonna offer a micro transaction to hide this icon 😂😭
Next step is, that they will show the unowned content in game - in build mode and create a sim - and after clicking it it will show you which pack to buy to get it 😭
And next step is micro transactions, own in game currency and loot and drops, and then Sims will be a money making machine for EA, like League of Legends for Riot 🤑
My menu is not showing well, like all icons get on top of each other, as if with the new shopping cart icon the menu doesn't have enough space to show all the icons properly >>
The Home Chef Hustle fix was a much needed one for me. I could not have my Sims use the appliances without them constantly catching on fire.
Just started playing and my neurodiverse arse can stop being distracted by it!!!
Hopefully a mod will keep it from flashing
As sombody who doesn’t really care about any of the ea and sims team drama and kind of just sits back and laughs at everything, this annoyed me too, especially the fact that the icon will constantly be flashing as an autistic person, this might annoy and distract me… TOO FAR EA. TOO FAR…
I do not need to see a pulsating button on my screen while playing. I just can’t with EA
I already spend lots of money in the game but they seem not to care about us alot. Game are expensive already. I wanted to but the new pack on thursday but now I'm just thinking nit to do it. Honestly dissapointed and so fed up with EA.
Please no I’m in the middle of downloading mods :,3
EA keeps pushing me right out the door. Havent played in days, Ive switch to cityskylines! Thanks for the heads up. I wont even bother opening the game!
I know i'm not updating my game until a modder creates something to hide this
I wish I knew about this before I elected to update my game! Now I'm stuck with it until a modder fixes it :/
Of course this happens when I come back to Sims 4 after a year. The last 2 days were fun while they lasted. Time to retire again.
My game is updated but i don't have the cart. To be fair i have not reconnected to the gallery yet. If this is a bugged this is accepable bug to not have this feature :D
