Could you please react to Freddie Mercury "Exercises in Free love". Just Freddie and Mike Moran on the Piano. It's beautiful. I know you will absolutely love it. Please 🙏
I played this song to my girlfriend back in 1976 and then asked her to marry me!! She said yes and 46 years later we are still happily married (to each other lol)
There is "Jealousy" on the "Jazz " album, which got a seamless tone. "You Take" is my favorite song too, so pleasing to sing anywhere, at anytime... a masterpiece, both simple and complex. Really smart piece of art in fact. Freddie was (and still is, in our hearts with Queen's legacy) a real genius, each of the band was, a perfect match at the time.
"Dreamy" is the perfect description of this song. You nailed its atmospheric quality. It is also sweet, longing, and slightly melancholic. So beautiful.
Imagine being there and hearing a never before released Queen song?! This is one of my favs and favourite versions. The way he sings it is everything 🥰
In the studio version Freddy does all the harmonies himself just like Nevermore, studio. Live at Earls Court 1977 is also good in a slightly different way
You really loved this performance. It is beautiful. Now, I, and Im sure everybody here, would LOVE to see your first-time reaction to the studio recording. The prelude with those vocals is truly INCREDIBLE, Doe! And the ending, oh my gosh, the ending!!! It’s wicked! Wicked!! I always told myself, “Ok. Freddie went crazy. He went insane. He’s so in love with this person that at some point, he lost his sanity and he entered into another mental state.” That’s how intense the ending of this song is!! Will we get to see your reaction to that, though? 🙂
@@DoeDarling yes! We know you would be reacting to the same song, but a live performance is one thing, and the studio recording, very different. It’s the same for any recording artist. Now, in the case of Queen, it’s almost TOTALLY different. When we, musicians, are on stage, tempos go naturally faster. But sometimes arrangements change, choices are made, decisions; it’s fun to revisit a song you have recorded months ago and adjust things here and there. Brian said himself on interviews, “We’re never trying to recreate on stage what we have done in studio. The live performance should be an experience in itself. It’s different.” Very brave and true. So, consider making a video for this “You take my breath away”/ studio version. You will not regret it. Go deep in the lyrics this time. Maybe share how Freddie’s life was at the time: break up with dear Mary, dating here and there, falling for people and getting heart broken, etc. It’s a beautiful journey this song. He’s so passionate; almost obsessed at some points. Thank you for reacting to this performance today and for sharing it with us. Your love for Queen, Doe, is so beautiful and brings back memories for many of us. Happy Valentine’s day again! 😄👋🏽

What a great pick for Valentine's day! I loved your reaction to this stunningly beautiful song. It is indeed (in my view) one of the greatest Queen love songs - maybe the best (but there are so many). It remains one of my favorites from 'A Day at the Races', and you should also listen to the studio version (if you haven't done so already, which is hard to believe). Well I have not heard this live performance of the song, so thank you for reacting to it!
one of the most sincere performances from Freddie! So mesmerizing! I watched this one hundred times and ready to do it again and again! Thanks Doe for your brilliant reactions 💓 Happy Valentines Day and best wishes from Moscow =)
Stunning vocal by Freddie ❤ I love how the crowd starts out a bit noisy (requiring a couple of Freddie finger pointing warnings) and is dead silent by the end. The studio version is lovely, Freddie's voice (only) layered for harmonies. There's also an acapella version that's pretty amazing to hear. (We all have a crush, it's okay)
Beautifully said! Bravo! Such a mystifyingly beautiful song! Once again, a giant reminder that their live performances are a huge testament to their unquestionable pure talent. There was nothing Freddie couldn't sing, his piano skills would impress even the likes of Mozart and Beethoven, yet he was so modest!
Happy Valentines Day Doe Darling! 💝💖💞💕 Freddie is exquisite during this performance. Singing a not-yet-recorded song for that special someone who was in attendance!! I love that Freddie put it out there for all to see!! 🥰😍😘 🥂🍾
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY Doe, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG sung SO BEAUTIFULLY by Freddie Mercury & Live. Did you notice how Freddie controlled the AUDIENCE, just by raising one finger. ENJOY YOUR EVENING Doe ♥️😊. LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR NEXT REACTION video.
Yay! You picked the perfect song for today. I love your look btw, you're so beautiful ❤️❤️ The studio version of this song has a ton of beautiful harmonies by Freddie, if you haven't listened to it you should. Have you heard In My Defense? From the Time musical. It's amazing and I'd love to hear your thoughts, Freddie sounds incredible
This is my all time favorite Queen song. I remember hearing it for the first time in 1976 and I was blown away with the voice of Freddy and the beauty of this song. Played it since then at least a 1000 times and it still give me chills every time again and again. Thank you for playing this song.
Just my opinion but I prefer this live version, simple and unadulterated, I think the studio version is over produced and the message gets lost somewhat.
Wow. I have a story about this, Doe. I was watching the Freddie Mercury Tribute on VHS back then. Metalica started it. Then, Extreme killed it!, and so forth different acts followed. But in between acts, they would show bits and pieces of Freddie’s videos, montages with slow Queen songs. That’s when I heard “My melancholy blues”. Wow, that made me tear up a little bit. But when another montage came, they played “Every breath you take”, and watching Freddie all happy and full of life, Doe, I cried. I sobbed. I was crying like a baby, there in my living room in front of my TV, and the paused VHS tape. Doe, listen to the studio recording!! “A day at the races”, second song, side A. the vocals, the overdubbed vocals… WOOOOOW!! I WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY!!! It’s a MASTERPIECE!!!
Thank you for sharing ❤ I can totally understand you being in tears, I have over Freddie before for sure. I'll have to check out the studio version now thanks!
Freddie Mercury Tribute concert is iconic. I didn't think it could be pulled off, but it was. Sadly getting Elton to sing Bo Rap off key was the only issue. Sure he's a star, the song is beyond his vocal range. The Crowd could have done a better job IMHO
I agree with you 100%. It's a beautiful song that gives me chills all over listening to it. I also think it's normal to crush on Freddie - he was talented, charismatic and romantic. Totally swoon-worthy ;-)
Yes Doe, I agree with you, this is dreamy. Freddie draws you in with his beautiful emotions. It's lovely to listen to and watch Freddie melt into this song. Thank you Doe!
I loved this reaction! And that is exactly how I felt the first time seeing this video. I was haunted by it for a while after. I’m going to London next month for my first time ever, and I want to go to Hyde Park, just to be in the same place that Freddie did this performance. Ha ha, that’s like the one thing I have on my list that I want to do😂🤷♀️ and, I agree with you about the love. I am a happily married woman, that is head over heels in love with a dead man, ha ha, and my husband knows all about it.
Hi Doe. Hope you & your partner have a fabulous Valentines day. Take my breath away is a fantastic song this performance shows how great Freddie was as a performer think of how many people were stunted to silence listening to it. Amazing. Please can you react to any of the songs from the Made in Heaven album
The quality _AND_ quantity of excellent songs written and performed by Queen is unmatched by any band in history. They literally _CAN'T_ make a bad song. Some bands have a few good songs and the rest are so-so. There are no so-so songs by Queen. It's all or nothing. _AND_ the fact that they do so many different genres, makes that even more impressive. I love "Modern Times Rock & Roll" just as much as "Bring Back That Leroy Brown" and you can't _GET_ more opposite spectrum songs than those 2. Somebody tell me I'm wrong. Btw, Doe, you're looking more lovely than ever.😘
The sweetness of the start gains a kind of scary intensity toward the end. I do think this live version is VERY impassioned while the studio version is incredible and lovely, but a controlled beauty. Try ONE YEAR OF LOVE - a bit of R&B with just Freddie & John. Scorching vocals. You are in good company on that Freddie attraction!

“You gotta listen to this one.” And they all did, all 120,000+ of them.
freddie mercury's voice was out of this world! this song makes it clear!
To me, this is one of Freddie's most precious gems. Give the studio version a listen too. It's entrancing. Happy Valentine Day !
Only Freddie and his piano.... Amazing 😍
And that's all you need. It's such a wonderful live performance that I often watch it over and over.

"Dreamy" is the perfect description of this song. You nailed its atmospheric quality. It is also sweet, longing, and slightly melancholic. So beautiful.
Freddie ensured us a small insight into his soul with a song that is able to touch everybody's heart.
