Great reaction! The lead singer to Maybe has a vocal range that sounds as if she's crying. I'm guessing her name is Chandra or a name that begins with Chan like the RONettes, SHIRells... It's nice to know these back stories of these classic songs and those who sing them. Radio DJs would often do the same (Kasey Kasun, Nina Blackwood...). I would be interested in your reactions to today's new music..
Reactions by younger persons are often amazed how rich was music from the 50s through the 80s with most stating their favorite decade is the 60s. What seems to impress those younger reviewers the most is those singers had such rich voices with using today's autotune (whatever that is). BTW, I was born 1949. I'm 73 today. I shared a bedroom with my older brother. We listened to those 50s songs on his AM radio at night in our bedroom. The songs are now lovingly imbedded in my brain today.
That's when your voice sold records unlike today when it's music overshadowing A not so great voice.!

Arlene Smith was 14 Rene White was 11when they started and was 12 when they first went on the road.. She had the deepest voice.
Such a magnificent dreamy gorgeous voice. Though its not rock'n'roll, it has much of the musical rock'n'roll structure.
I remember it well though I was only seven. It pays to have older sisters & brothers.
Yes for girl bands, they need to be heard as much as the "guy" bands. For my money if I had only one to pick from between both. I'd take the girl bands. As a male, they just speak to me.
As an X Catholic all I can say. This must be the best thing the Catholic Church has done. The irony of this song, with the church. They would never allow us at a dance, to dance close/ slow dance to a song like this.
There are so many fantastic girl bands with unbelievabl beautiful voice.
