Awesome work on a subject that nobody covers and most of us dread doing! This is becoming the most informative channel on UA-cam, for the Foxbody community. Thanks and keep rockin’ the content- this stuff helps!
It’s a night and day difference we had a drag roller with cut out door panels for the roll bar crash bar etc the doors were super smooth and light weight
Another great video, my passenger door sticks out just a hair when shut even with the striker all the way in. I might try the 2x4 trick, like I said it’s really close just off enough to annoy someone with OCD like me 😂
door preload is a good idea. i just swapped the doors on my 86 capri t-top car. i put 87 convertible doors on it and they don not fit the same as the 86 doors. im going to go ahead repair the factory doors and reuse them. the driver door may not be repairable. we'll see.
Have you ever hung a GT Convertible door bu yourself? Would you be able to guesstimate the weight of the door fully dressed? The tip about the dorman hinge pins is great. Do you have video of the door being removed with 1 person? Ty so much for the content - I just stumbled on your channel and am thankful for it.
My doors were sagging replaced door pins now door has a gap if fully closed can't open from outside.. after looking closely door hinge bracket is bent out driver side
Move the door up, down, forward... But what about in and out? I've got my fender and jambs MINT but there's like a 1/4 where windshield/roof meet. You guys shim the bottom out or something?
I'm 27. Restoring my first complete shell of a 89 notchback and the doors the people put on it before I bought it fit like complete hell. Full of bondo and tweeked as shit. Gonna be sourcing some good ones, thanks for the tips.
Before removing doors is it best to drill an alignment hole through the hinge into body so that you can reinstall with proper alignment…. I am about to remove mine as part of a total rebuild and paint job
I dont do that, mainly because you are going to replace the Bushings. So won't go back in the same place anyway, and that leaves you with a hole in your a pillars
A impact screw driver that you smack with a hammer will take those screws out of the latch mechanism every time. Probably buy one for 20 dollars or less.
@@foxjunk73 okay thanks. Im reviewing your past paint videos to see what order you paint in. I pulled my doors off by cutting my pins , can just stick the replacement pins in with the hinge on car
I'm gonna have to take my driver's door off whoever had it before me said the door was sprung back the other way I hope I just have to replace the door and hinges

“Excuse the dad bod I hear they’re in Now”😂😂😂Great Video
Not a waste of time at all I appreciate you taking the time to explain.
I learned that red Pex water line works amazingly well as a door striker bushing on my '92. The ones from the Help section were too thick.
Thanks for all your high quality and top notch videos!
Lol, thanks
I really like the way that You show and explain how to adjust the doors on the Fox body ! Thank You . 🇺🇲🇵🇷🦊👍
Great video! I really appreciate the your effort to get this information out.

Great video. Thanks.
Dope stuff man !
Good content, thanks👍🏿
I went through this same thing hanging the doors on my ‘66 Mustang.
I set the door up empty and then had to re-align them once I got the glass in.
Can you please do a video on installing the front fenders and getting them set right thanks! Great vid btw great input!
Love your content! Right to the point and detailed. Question? Is that the 5 gallon paint stick or standard 1 gallon stick.
Another great video, my passenger door sticks out just a hair when shut even with the striker all the way in. I might try the 2x4 trick, like I said it’s really close just off enough to annoy someone with OCD like me 😂
Just be careful, you can dent them pretty easy

Yep, barber shop finally opened, they cut the 3 i had left on top too
Subbed👌🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks for all the great suggestions! I appreciate the part numbers. What chemical / brand do you use for cleaning the door latch mechanism?
I uses Castrol Purple power and a old tooth brush. They spray clean with carb cleaner

Hey Aaron. Koz from base. Hit me up!
Where are you located, I’m in Virginia Beach, Virginia?
So did you pay for it to get wired up. Or when is the wire up video coming?
what do you mean by wired up?
Electric windows door locks and mirrors
@@HIGH_SPEEDs oh ok, no I do all my own work.
So the doors are coming off again? By pulling the door pins correct?
No, they are on to stay. I paint my cars with all.the body panels on.
@@foxjunk73 okay thanks. Im reviewing your past paint videos to see what order you paint in. I pulled my doors off by cutting my pins , can just stick the replacement pins in with the hinge on car
@@mica9977 ya, you can do that. However you get a lot of surface rust between the hinge and the a pillar.
@@foxjunk73 my bodys pretty clean put i walnut blasted around the hinges . Small corrosion was present.
@@mica9977 I have yet to see one that didn't have minor rust in between the hinge and the body, and most the cars I do I would say are rust free cars.

You never actually said how to align the doors is there some kind of alignment tool or what?
we must have watched a diffrent video
Its backwards...
What is backwards
@@foxjunk73 The video is flipped, the words are all backwards and your Mustang looks like its a British right-hand drive model.
