I had an odd one at my previous address. No issues with the solar panels or inverter, but the generation meter developed a fault after 9 years and needed replacing.
Just because inverter is warrantied for 5,7,10 years doesn't mean it'll fail after 10 years and need replacing 3 times. An inverter in a garage where it's not suffering extremes of heat I could forsee lasting for a few decades. Don't install in a loft basically. And as they give off heat a utility room is also good as it's free heating
