Hi Angie! Great job. I like your personality and dedication to the sax! I’m working on emboucher and tone on my tenor. I am learning on my Yamaha 6c w Java reds 2.0... I also have a berg larsen 85/0 that kicks ^*+ - still developing skills but agree w your comments on bringing that shimmer to the tenor! I squeak here and there, but getting better each day. How long has your channel been up and running?

Thanks for your thoughts, and particularly why you think this way. If a metal mouthpiece will brighten a tenor or bari, can you suggest a setup for an advanced beginner who would like her alto to sound a little darker? (Asking for a friend)
I would've liked also your thoughts on synthetic reeds.
    Thanks again.

I would suggest that they try a few different mouthpieces with different tip openings and chamber sizes - a smaller tip opening generally will darken up the sound though.
And yeah I should have included some thoughts on synthetic reeds... I think they can work well depending on your mouthpiece and ligature. I’ve used legére reeds for classical alto and they worked well with the mouthpiece I had at the time. I tried the same brand on clarinet though and it sounded awful, so I guess it just depends.
