- If you struggle in getting the altissimo notes, you are officially a saxophone player!
In this video I am going to show you how to make your life easier when attempting your first altissimo notes.
Use the alternative positions for the E, F and F# palm keys will set the fundamentals to getting a good air flow in preparation for the altissimo G and above.
Remember that when learning altissimo you want to avoid tonguing and just focus on air and air flow as much as possible.

Bravissimo!!
Grazie carissimo!! Grazie di ❤️
Do I use the octave key with the x key?
Yes, sure Nancy! Octave key pressed as you would for normal palm keys😀
i can play F and F# but find the E very hard... Slurred from D or F it is ok, but to start on E is tricky, while F is easy. Any tips on that? G starts to come out, so need more practise on that. (btw sidekey E is fine, no problem with that)
Hey Johan! Nice to see you here as well!
Yes, E can be so unreliable... it’s so annoying....
Trying slurring from F into the E and try to maintain a steady E, even if just for few seconds.
The actual sound of that position has to open up and it takes sometimes.. just keep trying and trying😀😀 E is the hardest
