It’s true, I know older generations spank kids but honestly when I was a kid. It doesn’t do much to teach me anything at all. Words and reasons actually gets me to understand why my behaviour was wrong as a kid. I get used to the spanking because it doesn’t hurt all that much.
I had bladder problems all through my 20s after having children exercises didn’t work and it got severe finally got an operation at 30 and changed my life so yes it definitely isn’t normal nor should no women have to put up with it and just accept it .

We have been married for over 17 years and our oldest is in high school now and are youngest youngest is in middle school. When they are both 18 and 20 I will be in my early forties. There will be a time period when traveling and doing big things will be tougher (some stages with kids are just tougher to take them out of their routine) so I really want to encourage y’all to make sure you make some parent friends to be able to have play dates and dinners. Being a parent can be really isolating so it’s important to have fellow parent friends. Also parents don’t care about your age, they just care about you having a kid similar in age to their kid. Parents bond over parenthood. We are young parents and all our friends are older than us. Going on hikes and going to the park or a splash pad when he is a toddler are all great ways to get out for your mental health without having to go do something big.

"No one suffers from this so something must be wrong with you", to find out 10 years later its super common in young folks too, not just older folks. And both male and female can be forced to deal with this.

I think the Matt pushing Abby postpartum doesn’t have to be a bad thing. My husband was like Matt and if he wasn’t our babies would never have slept in their own room and I would’ve just stayed home all the time because it was easier. It was good to get out, even if it was chaotic. And so thankful my hubby implemented the “no babies/kids in our bed/our room” because as he said, it’s important to be husband/wife because we were husband/wife first and if we are connecting then we can be better mommy/daddy.
@@inana0707 oh yes! Newborns always slept in our room. My babies started sleeping through the night at 3 months ish so they went to their crib in their room after that…as hard as it was for me at the time, I’m thankful we did that so we can unwind and have husband/wife time
@@yenmoody9812 yes thats what I did with both my babies but my first one it was so difficult for me to put her in her bedroom I was so afraid something would happen so when I finally decided that im ready to do it she was 9 months and thank God she was ok with it....the second baby went much quicker in her room I think 4 5 months old.

My husband and I will probably have mostly girls😂😂 on both sides girls are very common. My younger sisters have kids and I have three nieces, another niece on the way and one nephew😂😂 Parenthood is never easy and the first week is so tough. I love being a mom but it’s so mentally draining at times😅 it’s nice to have support because it really does take a village to raise a baby!

I just wanted to comment on one thing you mentioned, and that is spanking kids. When my kids were young, I did feel it important to reserve a spank for super important life threatening situations. For example, we lived in a house on a steep hill and the kids knew that if they put just one foot up on the back deck railing they would be spanked. A tumble over could have been deadly.
Don't pee in the shower (standing up) Abby. If you must, squat while you pee. I just found out that peeing while standing can cause bladder issues for women.

I've grown up being hit by my dad with a belt/slipper (i don't have a brother, im not sure if he would be more harsh), however, he did stop when I was roughly 7 years old. But I still remember. I do still love him and I know he loves and cares about us a lot. But there are moments where I wish we could openly express our love to one another through words and hugs without it being so weird and awkward. Nonetheless, if I ever have a kid I would NOT spank them and use the traditional (asian) parenting way. I believe once you resort to spanking then your relationship with the child as you grow older will just be more complicated and restrained. I want to openly tell them I love them without it being awkward af.
You two are so sweet and I love how playful you are towards each other! I’m a little old fashioned when it comes to discipline so I don’t have a problem with spanking, within reason. With that being said, we don’t do it often. Our kids are pretty well behaved I have to say, and we have high expectations. If anything, just be consistent with what you choose and follow through. HOWEVER, I’ve only been a mom for five years and have three kids but a word of advice for new, young parents….don’t ever say you’re not going to do something, because you most likely will be changing your mind about *something* as you navigate parenting and discipline and anything else along the way. Lol I’m speaking from experience 😅

I'm 44..I had 4 kids. I was just like you all when I was your age and I was a young mom. I got 2 kids already graduated college and 2 on the way. You are doing great. Bladder leakage is not supposed to be “normal”. It’s horrible that after we have kids it’s just “how it is” that we pee a little when we sneeze off cough. It’s not supposed to be that way. It means you have a weak pelvic floor. Seeing a pelvic floor specialist to help with this.

Parenthood is never easy and the first week is so tough. I love being a mom but it’s so mentally draining at times😅 it’s nice to have support because it really does take a village to raise a baby!

I just wanted to comment on one thing you mentioned, and that is spanking kids.
When my kids were young, I did feel it important to reserve a spank for super important life threatening situations. For example, we lived in a house on a steep hill and the kids knew that if they put just one foot up on the back deck railing they would be spanked. A tumble over could have been deadly.

Yes you cannot chase materialistic things in search of happiness because you will always always always be chasing the happiness rather than living and enjoying and loving life for what it is and what you have. JUJU & Des spoke about this on their “a couple things” most podcast, I just watched it last night 😂
I've grown up being hit by my dad with a belt/slipper (i don't have a brother, im not sure if he would be more harsh), however, he did stop when I was roughly 7 years old. But I still remember. I do still love him and I know he loves and cares about us a lot. But there are moments where I wish we could openly express our love to one another through words and hugs without it being so weird and awkward. Nonetheless, if I ever have a kid I would NOT spank them and use the traditional (asian) parenting way. I believe once you resort to spanking then your relationship with the child as you grow older will just be more complicated and restrained. I want to openly tell them I love them without it being awkward af.

You two are so sweet and I love how playful you are towards each other! I’m a little old fashioned when it comes to discipline so I don’t have a problem with spanking, within reason. With that being said, we don’t do it often. Our kids are pretty well behaved I have to say, and we have high expectations. If anything, just be consistent with what you choose and follow through. HOWEVER, I’ve only been a mom for five years and have three kids but a word of advice for new, young parents….don’t ever say you’re not going to do something, because you most likely will be changing your mind about *something* as you navigate parenting and discipline and anything else along the way. Lol I’m speaking from experience 😅

Growing up I always said I want to have six kids… cut to having my first one and after I felt that first contraction, if my son ever has siblings in the future, they’re either going to have fur or adoption papers 😅😂

I got 2 kids already graduated college and 2 on the way.

My husband was like Matt he always said he only wants boys. Then our daughter was born and he was completely in love now he says he only wants girls lol. Girls are a huge blessing! Their just as amazing and precious as little boys. You won't understand the love you will have for a little girl until you have one.
Bladder leakage is not supposed to be “normal”. It’s horrible that after we have kids it’s just “how it is” that we pee a little when we sneeze off cough. It’s not supposed to be that way. It means you have a weak pelvic floor. Seeing a pelvic floor specialist to help with this.
