    Looks fun. I did it on a bicycle, no motels, self supported, alone and it was a great adventure. Tailwinds to all fellow wanderers.

    No room for any negativity here. Adventure has a different meaning to each person. Even these 15 men experience the same adventure in a different manner. We all have a different way of experiencing adventure, that is what makes it an adventure.

    Not my preferred mounts, but what an epic ride. A great bunch of guys. Beautiful country. I think Evan Firstman said it best when he explained his background at the climbing school. Skills and desires for a certain activity often are formed at an early age and transfer over to other forms of sport later in life. Well done you guys!

    i enjoy the vid of people who do the same thing on smaller bikes without all the equip and backup. while trying not be judgemental, i prefer the less elaborate trips, they show you that you dont need all the stuff money can buy.

    The Continental Divide really is the trip of a life time. This video is one that inspired our trip on the northern half from Glacier to Denver on a DRZ400 and two KTM EXCs. Were are releasing our video series right now. Come check it out if you want to see more of the great Divide. #CrustyCrusaders

      People primarily do it on bicycle so you could probably do it on a TW200 and still have a blast! There are a good amount of miles where you have to get on state roads at like 55mph so that's something to consider. @@andrewpquinn

    Not sure why there are a few negative comments. It 's like they say in the hiking community....HYOH or hike your own hike. Some folks (haters) seem to think every undertaking has to be the way they envision it or it's not legitimate. I say bullshit to that way of thinking. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and would have considered giving my left nut to have been on that trip. The video shots were some of the best I've seen. You guys killed it. :)

    Can you please PM the climbing guy's name at 35minish mark? Thanks in advance. My father in law was a wild child/climber from the south west back in the day. I hear stories of him surviving a big drop off of half dome that made it into a book. He was caught by his belayer but it was pure luck due to him being harnessed into some trees instead of the rock that he had already fell past.. That Crazy Jumping Jack was great and fucking crazy calculated SOB!
    I'm currently trying to plan a trip of the TAT in part in memory to him and the other to my own Nana that passed(Well with some detours to make it our own) East to West. Thanks again for the post.

    I noticed something that struck me as odd between thirty and thirty three minutes in to the video. It may not be odd to you but I have never seen a tire do that. watch the blue BMW's front tire. the tire will shift side to side exposing the rim. Did not notice any other bike doing that. Am I correct to assume the tire should not do that?

      Does happen sometimes, even if you have crash bars installed. Just need to get that one bolder between those bars. Ask me how I know... That’s when a support truck with donor bikes/parts comes in handy. And a satellite phone, of course. Takes less than an hour to do the surgery, even in the wild.

      @EscapeFromRealityAdventures  7 років тому +1

      Ben Brookman Hey Ben! Thanks for watching. The tires are Continental TKC-80s. By a considerable margin, the best off-road tires for these bikes. This route was the continental divide. Zero technical abilities needed and not challenging beyond the endurance needed to ride for eight or nine days, straight. It's like riding through a postcard!!!

    sorry, i love all of these stories. but this just seems like a bunch of older men with a TON of extra money "playing" adventure. way too structured. it's like going on a paid tour instead of backpacking through an unknown country.

    • @EscapeFromRealityAdventures
      @EscapeFromRealityAdventures  7 років тому +9

      Eric Preble you nailed it! It IS a bunch of older men, and yes it's a tour totally structured with maps and campgrounds designated for each evening where the camp has already been set up, with catering tents upon our arrival. Is it an adventure? Of course not. But it's a way for people to dabble in the experience to see if they like it, with very little risk or learn a little bit so we don't get our asses handed to us if we ever try to go it alone. I consider it like going to a rock climbing gym, instead of actually rock climbing. But I got a tell ya, it was freaking awesome!!
