Thank you so much for this tutorial Stacy. I love watching your videos and this one combines my love of paper crafts with my new love of cross stitch. Something else I can do easily while bingeing Netflix with my husband. I’ve kept quite a few cereal boxes too,, which I can recycle for this project. Now I know what I will use my next Michaels coupon for. Hugs, Lola 🇨🇦
Today I went to Micheals and Hobby Lobby to buy everything to make these floss tags. I made 30 of them and they turned out awesome. Thank you for the great tutorial!!
I love watching all your videos! I found some beautiful French samplers from watching you. Prayers to your family on the loss of your stepdaughter. May her soul Rest In Peace and may perpetual light shine upon her🙏🏼💗🙏🏼
I just started seeing floss drops and wondered what they were. I have been using bobbins for years. Thanks so much for a very well done tutorial. I love that you give/show/demonstrate options - different types of tags, sizes, etc depending on what one wants/needs. Thanks so much!
I LOVE the floss tags I've purchased from you. They are awesome! I also love the video tutorial! MUCH appreciated. I have so much scrapbook paper that I will NEVER use so maybe I can use a bit with this! THANK YOU!
Thank you, Stacey for this video...I have all the equipment for making the floss drops, I just wanted a little help with the "how-to". You gave me some great tips. My big punch hasn't arrived yet - I ordered it just a few days ago...but it'll get here. I've been "pondering" what to do with my old scrapbook paper...this is it! :) Thanks so much.
Thank you so much...several of my questions answered. Good luck with your surgery; my shoulder replacement (8 weeks ago) is going very well and I have ditched the brace...have another month of therapy.
Great tips...I've made laminated ones... my hands to weak to punch ...hub kindly punched...it was hard on his hands too...but some came out super nice while others the laminate came undone along circle edges...I won't do that again but will try these awesome ideas you shared...thank you so much for sharing ...
Stacy this was such a well thought out tutorial. Your explanation and visual explanation were great! Hope you had fun picking up all the little punched pieces that flew everywhere! 😊 Hope you're enjoying this Christmas season. 'Til next time-
One thing to point out about the poster board is that on matte finishes the ink from your pen is absorbed by the paper. Slick or shiny finishes I find the ink does not dry and not only does the ink not dry but you also run the risk of having ink smeared on your gorgeous (and sometimes expensive) floss. Thanks for the tutorial!!
These are great tips, TY. I laminate my tags then you can put a sticker on with the color but can easily pull the sticker off to reuse it. They are thick and I love them. Love your videos.
Oh my gosh...do you know how many floss tags I ruined using the punches upside right? Why didn’t I think of using it upside down with the plastic cover removed? Brilliant! This tutorial was very helpful! Thank you! Blessings and take care,
Thank you for the tutorial. I use Annie’s keepers but this would be a lot cheaper to use not to mention more fun! Just might invest in some of those punchers. Thanks again!
Great tutorial Stacy! Love your tags. If shipping cost wasn't an issue in sending to Australia, I'd buy tags from you but.... oh well, will just have to make my own. Take care 🐕⚘
Thank you very much for this tutorial. It was very easy to follow. For the circle punch do you think a 3/4 inch is too big? That is the smallest size I could see on the Michael's website and of course both are out of stock so I have to wait.
Cool hmmmm, maybe Do your top punch before adding sticker 😉 popsicle stick can smooth out creases/bumps. I would do 2 design sheets & construction paper. Fun tutorial.
Thanks for the tutorial! I’m definitely going to give it a try. I must have missed your elbow surgery. Was it stitching related or something else. I’m hoping it’s healing well.
I love your ideas. Thanks for posting. How do you organize the thread drops. Do you keep your thread them after you're done with the project and then hang them until you need that thread color again?
I added the name to search on Amazon. Search Stamperia paper and it should come up. They have a great selection but it’s a little pricey for what you get.
Hi Stacy, I just found this video and have a question for you. I have noticed in the passed the glue from glue stitcks tends to dry out over time and things come apart (found this out in my classroom). Have you had any problem with that? if so, what other glue have you tried? Thanks! @thedisorderlystitcher
Great tutorial! Thank you so much. When you put your floss through the tag, is it ready to be pulled off to use? What size do you cut your floss? I use two strands to stitch so I cut my floss 24” and when I pull the one strand of floss from the tag, it gets really, really kinky. Is it because of the length? Thanks 🙏
I've heard it can get real kinky if you put the floss on too tight. I'm not sure what else might make it kinky like thats. I've heard bobbins can cause them to have creases in it too if wound tight and kept on the bobbin for a while. If it's DMC, you can slightly dampen the floss with a dab of water to make it a little easier when you full it off the tag or bobbin. I wouldn't do it with Classic Colorworks though, as some is not Colorfast. As for length, I use one continuous length. I don't cut mine. I like to pull off floss and determine the length I need at the time. I hope that makes sense
Great video I made many of these months ago and put all my floss on them! Now the scrapbooking paper is separating from the poster board!🤯 I used plenty of glue stick and pressed them a couple days in heavy books. I hate they have started falling apart.. hope yours do not. I used same glue you are using.
That is so strange. I’ve been making tags for years and never had that problem. I often also reuse the tags. I wonder what’s up? Maybe try a different, stronger glue
I'm back! OK, I bought all materials and am using Fiskars punch. The poster board and paper with glue is too thick. Plus paper is peeling away. I'm goingvtovtry card stock and spray adhesive. How did yours last with the glue stick?
I use a light poster board and not the heavy duty one that’s super hard. I also use a lot of glue stick so it’s nice and thick coverage. The only thing I can think of that would make the glue/paper peel is if maybe you live in a humid environment. I have a friend that has some trouble with humidity and paper crafts. In that case maybe try a different adhesive like the spray. I hope that works for you
I keep all my thread by brand, like one large ring for Classic Colorworks, another large ring for Colour & Cotton. If I really wanted to, I could put them back on their tag or change it out to a matching tag color but I don’t. I just hang them by ring.
@@911stitcher thanks so much for your response. Ok, so how /where do you hang/store your rings. Returning stitch here, navigating all that’s new to me.
@@Christine-ix7tp Check out my latest UA-cam video and you’ll see them all hanging behind me. My husband installed poles on the back of my craft door and I hang the rings from them. Sure, you can always use the thick paper or even a poster board if you want just plain white or colored tags. You could always put a sticker on them to jazz them up. I mentioned in this video also using recycled greeting cards. But if you want to use fun, pretty paper like holiday themes or like the Alice in Wonderland paper & Victorian paper I found, its way too thin. Good luck finding any thick enough. Postcards are another great option.
Thanks for sharing this! What a great way to use up some of the 10,000 pads of scrapbooking paper I have in my stash, lol 😁

Very helpful video!! What size is the round hole punch for the larger hole? I'm making my purchase list! 😉
The hole size for the floss is 3/4” around. It’s by Reflections and on the top of the tag it reads 5/8in/1.59cm

Good for people who don't paper projects😁. Just a suggestion, why not punch the small hole up the top before you put your sticker!
Loved watching the floss tags. What size are your floss tag die?
The Tag itself measures
2 3/4" long and 1 3/4"wide. I hope that's what you were asking :)
Thank you. Question - after you finish your project how do you return your floss to whatever storage system you use for your floss.
