“The Mountain Chamber Quartet” - Bolling Suite for Flute & Jazz Piano Trio No. 2, With a Modern Swing of Elegant French Jazz
Rita Hayes, Flute ▪ Christopher Tavernier, Piano ▪ Keith Freeburg, Double Bass ▪ Byron Hedgepeth, Drums
The Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano (aka Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio) is a "crossover" composition by the jazz pianist and composer Claude Bolling. The composition, originally written in 1973, is a suite of seven movements, written for a classical flute, and a jazz piano trio (piano, string bass, and drums).
The suite was recorded in 1975 by Bolling, classical flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal, bassist Max Hédiguer, and drummer Marcel Sabiani, and originally released as an LP album by CBS Masterworks Records and Columbia Masterworks. In the U.S., the album was nominated in 1975 for a Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance.
A video recording of Bolling and Rampal playing the Suite was recorded in 1976 at the Palace of Versailles in France, and was released on LaserVision video disc and on videotape. Eventually, under the title, Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio, digital CD and DVD versions of the respective audio and video recordings were also released. In 1986, Bolling and Rampal released Bolling's later composition, Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio No. 2.

pro trick : you can watch movies at Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Franklin Alfonso yup, I've been using Flixzone} for years myself =)
My cousin caught diphtheria using Flixzone. After he died, we sued Flixzone, but the Judge they assigned was a minority stockholder. We're appealing the case.
Not my cup of jazz. But are different.10 score
The description listed is not for this work… it’s for the original written in 1973. I’d like more info on when this one was written.
…. Ok I see it’s added at the end. Number 2 was recorded in 1986.
I do not love it as well as the first. 😕. It has a much much different sensibility. That cool 70’s feeling isn’t there. Imo

뭐야 30분 전이네 ㅋㅋ
29:04 "Pastorale" butchered by omitting 3/4 section
….also it sounds way harder to play.😔
More notes, less heart.
Au secour! Avez vous déjà écouté la version de Bolling et Rampal? S'il vous plaît, arrêtez le massacre (sauf le trio jazz) et apprenez la technique du double detaché! Et le vibrato mécanique, stop please...
