Lorry goes wrong way up sliproad to join freeway - Pinetown KZN South Africa - 13/04/22

Stapleton Road off ramp. The bridge was compromised and there was no way to get anywhere but by getting back onto the freeway. No alternate route whatsoever. Excellent driving 👍🏻

At the bottom of the off ramp the right turn onto Stapleton under the freeway was indeed blocked, but he could have turned left on Stapleton then right on Underwood, and rejoined the freeway at Caversham. All these routes were open at the time.

@@robinthompson268 At this stage the entire Eden / Stapleton intersection was more than 1m underwater. Even the Eden road bridge before PCP had been compromised. There was no access to anywhere other than to re-enter the freeway back via the off ramp. Everyone from the nature reserve, blood bank and residents had to use the off ramp to leave the area.

@@Am2nyc this was after the water had drained. Stapleton was clear to the left - towards Underwood. I had just driven it - I took the video myself. I have family who are resident in the area, who I was staying with at the time.
