Sick run! Do you recommend running Frostcraft for gunlance before the Velkhana Gamma set? I'm getting a bit hammered by Alatreon atm lol. My ideas right now are either try Frostcraft, or 2x Rimeguard B and 4x R brachy B. I'm pretty new to the game and I have no safi equipment right now, my understanding is Safi is on a rotation and it's currently Kulve so I'm using White Night. I'm attempting him atm with my White Night setup (2 Gold Rath 4 R.Brachy) I've got 95% affinity w/ enrage with my setup, and then evade extender 3 and window 4 via decos + some crit boost. What's consistently happening for me is I fail around the 20min mark because I've passed the element check 2x, broken both horns, but then he switches to ice and I die because I can't finish him off in time. I'm guessing that I'm either really bad, or I need more raw (probably both)
something like a pre-alatreon set, i would recommend something like the kjarr ice gunlance and 2p r brach 3p teo but it seems your set is fine too. Evade extender personally isn't very necessary in this fight since you really dont need to close much distance and if he runs you can sheathe and run towards him. Are you using a level 7 shelling gunlance? Abuse your wyrmstake since that does loads of damage. I would also advise against running shelling in this matchup since Alatreon is extremely raw favored (its head is a better hitzone than mollified kulve). I have a cartless high rank gear gunlance run on the channel if you want to check that out.
@@azzygl Yeah I'm using the Frostfang weapon so it's level 7 normal. I've been playing purely slap and not using Wyrmstake. Does Wyrmstake apply element, or is it just a good option for tons of raw?
No not really, depends on the weapon. Against Alatreon element is actually bad for damage, you just want elem to do the check and the rest can go into raw to maximize DPS since Alatreon head/arms are very good raw hitzones
