I'm leaning towards troll, and I think her bean lasanga video showcases that perfectly. She only puts cheese on 1/8th of the lasanga while talking about how shes "adding too much cheese", its a total troll / attention seeker
the fried rice video where she burns garlic to charcoal and cooks peas but not rice is also another obvious troll, she knew what she was doing. Honestly I think shes trying to ragebait some comments.

This is the least seasoned béchamel I've ever seen but she's so pleased w herself, i can't hold it against her 😭
That atrocity isn't bechamel. Just throwing the same ingredients into a pot that the recipe calls for doesn't make the same dish. Instructions matter. I'm from the south and while I love Kay, she'd be banned from any kitchen for starting a roux by adding flour to the liquid and then big chunks of cold butter. She's the family member you always tell to brink ice or drinks or paper plates to the get togethers.

I remember making spaghetti, with a sauce from bell peppers, onion, tomato, mushrooms, and chopped hot dogs- it was alright. In hindsight I probably should have used ground beef

Can someone who has already made béchamel sauce please tell me that they were as horrified as me when she absolutely butchered it. She literally put the ingredients in reversed order! August missed it and I really need some support 😥

And for love of ... anything. put some peppar and salt in it at least. And for expert mode, a hint of nutmeg in it is also realy good.
Stoneground mustard, too. Roughly one to two tsp is all you need, but toasted mustard elevates the bechamel.
@@FyremaelGlittersparkle Mustard is a good addition, but you should try adding some nutmeg and white wine (I prefer south african dry white wine) i learned this from my mom when making a cheese béchamel. The alcohol will evaporate, but the flavor adds another dimension.
Some freshly ground nutmeg, teaspoon of mustard,
white wine and pepper is really good.
Ofcourse it helps if you put the base ingrediënts for the roux in the right order. And to add ingredients in small batches to prevent clumps.
I hope kay discovers the joy of actually making something that tastes good and is freshly made.
I feel there is a whole world for her to discover if she learns some basic cooking skills.

Hilariously, I think he might be pretty supportive. He seems to judge "giving up" and "not trying" the most harshly. You can call Kay many things, but she does try and never gives up. She is the Naruto of cooks.
Also, he clearly has a soft spot for kind mommas and grannies.

My mum actually used to make me and my brother's spaghetti hotdogs, I never realized they weren't a normal thing.
It is a thing but I think it is generally a meal kids can help make for a bit fun.

Fun fact, just found out that Kay has 2 channels. One called “Kay’s Cooking” and an old one called “KAYS COOKING”.
Just like if Lee can't have or just doesn't like cheese the lore of that channel is inconsistent. In the past she has said that channel got hacked so she had to make a new one, however also has said she forgot the password so she made a new one.

The only people I've ever met who didn't like cheese are those were traumatized by their parents not storing cheese correctly, usually by letting it get sweaty and smelly on the counter, which just _sounds_ like something Kay would do.

@@denis9582 Except it's not. You normally cook butter and flour to make a roux which partially serves to cook out the taste of the flour. Then you add milk and cook that mixture down. Simmering globs of flour in a pan of hot milk will not get rid of the flour taste. Adding air with a hand mixer to the milk makes it foam. No amount of nutmeg or salt and pepper can save that.

I've made cheese sauce several times. The very first time, I paid attention to the recipe. Here's the recipe I used.
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
When melted, add 1 tablespoon of flour and whisk butter and flour together.
When whisked, slowly add 1 cup of milk and whisk together.
Add 2 cups grated cheese and continue whisking.
Optional: Add hot sauce and cayenne pepper to taste.
Every single time, this sauce came out looking like: cheese sauce. Nice and orange, a little bit spicy, maybe a bit thicker or thinner than I'd intended, depending on if I decided to fiddle with the amount of milk, but it always turns out looking like what I set out to make.
The fly that is crossing the lens a few times is the true MVP

This wasn't as bad or scary as her other dishes. Lee was surprisingly unamused by this dish. His tongue must have went numb to decent ingredients.

oh yeah this is a variant on octopi! the hot dogs and spaghetti thing is a pretty common food for kids, since kids often have trouble eating really complex foods. and they're cute. but I like hot dogs, so.
