    This is a glorious hymn to remind of us our dear Saviour's wonderful sacrifice - His precious blood flowing for us as a true fount of life.
    The contrast of the horror and the beauty in the death of our Jesus.
    He was bruised for our iniquities and our chastisement fell upon Him - but by His wounds we have been healed.
    O sinner, turn from your sins, your lying, thievings, adulteries of heart when looking with lust and the like. You are guilty - there is only one fount to flee to!
    That is Jesus, the Lamb of God who took your sins and died with them.
    "Ever since by faith I saw the stream.... redeeming love has been my theme and shall be til' I die."
    It is faith in Christ that saves, ultimately a trust in His merit alone for salvation.

    Praise God for that Fountain. I too have washed in that Fountain. Hallalujah to the Lamb of God that was slain upon the tree.

    The intended message that the blood of our precious Jesus is our only path to salvation comes through loud and clear either way it is sung. Amen

    I love this hymn. I play it often on my piano and keyboard. I thank and praise the Lord that our Lord Jesus Blood is that Fountain that washed away my sin. I daily come to that precious Fountain for cleansing. What a joy to hear the melodious young voices in praise to our Living Lord!

    Good singing by good singers. Appreciate that only vocal and not unscriptural instruments are here. Always appreciate the way the female church members and singers are dressed so properly modest.

    Mennonites take gospel songs from outside their own tradition, thoughtfully, advance them theologically, and surpass all the rest of us in rendition musically.
    I do, however, wish the hearers unlike what the rest of us have become much wont would in reverence even outside worship refrain from the worldliness of applause.

    I have found out that the hymn book used is put out by the Charity Christian Fellowship people. Now I understand why it is in error. it just reflects their deviant ideas.Perhaps "plunged" sounded too much like baptism by immersion in some sense so they felt they had to change it.

    The Hymn Book that they used reads it this way.

    @ConfederateGypsy The Hymn Book was "The Christian Hymnary" I guess the compiler Changed that Phrase. And you are right the original was the way you said. "sinners plunged beneath..."

    What is the difference "NC Confederate" they are singing to God and Jesus let them be the judge. It is beautiful. It was written by man, sang by man but sent to God. So let Him judge. Do not nit pick, it will make you bitter.

  • @ConfederateGypsy

    Why do they say "sinners washing in..." when the hymn actually reads," sinners plunged beneath..."? Are they afraid to sing it correctly ?

      To my mind their text is theologically stronger.

    It would seem their hymn book is wrong.Cowper didn't write it that way. The question is: Is it a mennonite or methodist hymn book?

  • @ConfederateGypsy

    @Phoenix51200 Charity does not hold to immersion alone. Baptism in their view can be by immersion, sprinkling or pouring. This position isn't so much deviant as just plain wrong.Their cult like mindset is the deviant thing.Check them out and see.

  • @ConfederateGypsy
    @ConfederateGypsy 14 років тому

    @Phoenix51200 First off, do a little searching on line about these people. Read the testimonies of those who have left them. See what they say.Plus, I would be careful of anybody calling themselves Remnant. The 7th Day Adventists call themselves that.

  • @ConfederateGypsy
    @ConfederateGypsy 14 років тому

    @Phoenix51200 The Bible uses the term but not in the cultic buzz word fashion Charity does.Only immersion is baptism. Sprinkling is not baptism period. The Holdemans are as nutty as Charity. They put out a tract which I used to have ranting against immersion. According to them NOBODY else has it together at all, just them.

  • @ConfederateGypsy
    @ConfederateGypsy 14 років тому

    Hey, believe what you want. People who know them better than you do are the ones saying they are cultic.They changed the wording of the song. Why?Remnant is not just a name, its a mindset. Every group I've heard of that uses remnant has been cultic.Disregard as you wish.
