great vid! despite the game's lacking quality, i do hope we'll see mega tunnel battle get ported to PC and consoles. even the worst games don't deserve to be lost to time like this
Amazing video, you really did a great job comparing the 2 games. As for me I haven't gotten around to playing them at all due to restrictions though I really hope 99 gets a physical release like what Tetris 99 got since it would absolutely worth it based on what I have seen. As for Mega Tunnel Battle the game feels like it struggled a lot with COVID but a lot of the problems look to simply be a product of neglect and if the game came to other platforms (like Steam) with more updates I could see it working out to be just as fun as 99 but alas just like Party Royale (which I would like to see your thoughts on as well) I expect the game to be forcefully supported by the main platform holder untill the death of it's service (Apple for Party Royale and Google for Mega Tunnel Battle). It's sad but a lot of the Pac-Man titles of the 2010's have been throwaways which is sad. Still there might be some hope for Mega Tunnel Battle.
Covid having possibility screwed up development is a good theory. Also I definitely see it being on steam with significant updates as a way to redeem it. Of course chances of it are slim but one can hope I definitely thought about checking out and covering it. Thing is I don't really have any apple products that support it sooooo... :/
I think the problem with Mega Tunnel battle was how nothing it felt, like a lot of PAC related stuff going forward from 2015. Yeah, it had a good idea for its foundation, but it was executed like a slapped together mobile game. Which kinda says a lot for the series during this time. Like you said about Geo as well, nothing deserves to be lost media, but we have to ask, at what point do we we still care if it does? Monsters and Jump hit pretty hard, but can you say you felt the same way when Pac-Man and Friends, or that generic bubble shooting game went down? All and all, I can at least applaud there efforts, even if they were off the mark. To Museum+ and onwards.
Very true words. All I can really say is that, at the end of the day, what I just hope we get good new games. Museum+ is a sign of potentially good things to come. Let's just hope they follow through. I believe they can
Hey! Do you think there's a chance that Namco could remaster the Pacman World Trilogy for the next-gen consoles, especially for the Switch? Personally, I would love to see an HD remaster of the Pacman World Trilogy, because in that way, we might get our long awaited Pacman World 4 in the same art style in the World Trilogy (i hate the ghostly adventures design of pacman, sorry). Just like when Naughty Dog gave Crash Bandicoot an HD remaster for its trilogy, before announcing the 4th game. I still have hope that Namco still cares for Pacman and its fans, and they will give us the remaster we wanted for the Pacman World Trilogy, and the sequel for Pacman World 3.
The upcoming Pac-Man Meusum+ will have a 3d overworld where you control Pac-man, and Pac seems to have his idle animations from World 1. So I think there's an actual possibility of remakes Also, Naughty Dog did not have anything to do with The Crash N Sane trilogy. That was made by Vicarious Visions and published by Activison.
@@thenumenfrompacland9491 yeah, i've seen the trailer of Pac-Man Museum and the Pac-Man model seems like it's from the World games. Hopefully we get a trilogy remaster announcement soon. About time we get a remake/remaster for the Pac-Man World Trilogy. Who knows? If many people enjoys the HD remaster and buys a lot of physical copies or digitally, we might get Pac-Man World 4!
Pac-Man 99 having (paid) single player content as well makes me feel sad for Mega Tunnel Battle... A 64-player game doomed from the start. Edit: Also if NSO ever ends, 99 will live on with it's single player content.
