I bought a pair of Aeris loudspeakers around the same time as you. I’ve been loving them. Your listening impressions are reinforced by my experience. Great video!
Been looking forward to this video since you purchased the Legacy speakers. I am sure you will do another one on them. Please consider reviewing the entire system, side and rear speakers as well. I love my music but my family and I are big time home theater enthusiasts so you total review of your system is much appreciated. Once again congratulations on your purchase!
Great review! having seen the Aeris in your room, there is only one comment to make....... STUNNING! The build quality is flawless, design....just wow! Congrats on the new system! ???maybe 1 day???? 😁😁
I would love to have a pair of those. I know from watching many videos and reading reviews that legacy audio make some of the best speakers out there. Enjoy your system, Barrett.
Great video brother! I was torn between the Aeris and Perlisten s7t’s. Went with the Perlisten’s and couldn’t be happier but I bet I would have been just as happy with the Legacy’s. I’ll definitely be getting Legacy iV series amps though as I expand my system.
Fabulous in depth review...love it. I had a pair of Focus SE towers some time ago and from one bass head to another I have never heard anything yet like it yet to date with speakers that cost four times the price. I made a choice to integrate two REL 32s into my setup which will be more bottom end power that I'll ever need however I want the ability of just using the speakers as stand alone and still have the gut wrenching bass as an option so I am once again considering another pair of L.E. towers. In your opinion with what I have do I really need the Aeris powered bottom end (even with the Wavelet) or will the Focus SEs be the perfect match? I am running two powerful mono blocks for strictly two channel stereo. Thanks for your input.
I head the Legacy Whispers (discontinued now) and those were the best speakers I've ever heard - better than B&W. The midrange is so holographic and true-to-scale. You have a sick system. I would be cranking Metallica for sure!
Thank you. I have a few subwoofers in for testing and review at the moment. Sometimes being a UA-camr can be fun, like when I get to play with subwoofers haha.
Great video, love that your enjoying your speakers. The best speakers i heard so far was the paradigm persona speakers. I havent listened to legacy yet. Hope one day i can demo legacy speakers
I have the Focus XD and been thinking about upgrading to the Aeris. I know you had the Focus XD before. Would you compare them sonically? How much better than the Focus XD? Great review. I listened to them at the LA T.H.E show last weekend and yes, their bass is mind blowing especially at $23k. Many speakers in the $50k and higher range can’t beat the Aeris deep bass. I used the same song for the comparison. Legacy is excellent in value.
thank you! Sorry, I've never heard RTJ's speakers. I'm sure RTJ sound amazing, as they are the same as their JTR brothers. What sold me on Legacy is that they sound amazing, look even better and they are tunable with the Wavelaunch processor.
Thanks for this and the previous videos. Could you please show how you connect your AV receiver to the Legacy wavlet. I have not found anything except to confusing instructions from Legacys website.
Legacy includes a Y splitter and some XLR cables with the speakers. It's just your XLR outputs from the AVR/Pre-Pro, into the Y splitter, then Left channel into input 1&3 on the Wavelaunch and right channel into inputs 2&4. They do include a simple instruction sheet in the box with the cables as well. It's really simple if you follow that pamphlet. The reason they do it this way is because there is a stereo algorithm they run through the processor. I disabled that algorithm by muting channels 3 & 4.
Why did you disable this. I have legacy Aeris and Wavelaunch as well. Agree they are so intense. So intense. But curious on why you disabled the Y algorithm. Thanks
Did you get a chance to listen/watch movies in two channel? Curious how the phantom center channel worked. I’m 80% music 20% movies. With that mix, would you just get the Aeris in a two channel setup or the Focus XD with Legacy surround and center channel for a 5 channel setup? Price for those two options would be about the same.
Your review is awesome and I’ve had my eye on that very same speaker. Since there is so much control with the sound does component matching even matter with this speaker?
You're right, component matching is far less beneficial than having the ability to tune the speaker. So it isn't as important, no, but some may not want to delve into the intricacies of the processor and may just want to run the factory tune and match components.
Great & comprehensive review of these speakers. U have passion to describe each detail, really appreciate. From your video about Tonewinner subs I decided to purchase & recently received D8000, wow amazing subwoofer with dual 15" active drivers with 1500 watts of power. In this video saw D8000 pro & D9000, hope u will review soon. Good luck 🤞🏻
IMHO Legacy is the brand for a true full range and accurate sound, being one of the few makers that design products that let you hear every instrument and note plaid on a recording. However, am surprised you found the treble on the Aeris and Focus so unflinching? I find my pair of Focus SE to be fairly forgiving on less than perfect recordings. I am using tube electronics though. Did get good results with a pair of Classe SS Monos but found myself going back to valves after a few months. Just felt they allowed the Legacy to render fuller sense of realism on the human voice than SS amps do. In any case congrats and enjoy.
Good review-I’ve been a Legacy fan for ten years. For my HT Atmos system, I have the Legacy Aeris’s (in Sapele Pommele), Marquis XD center, a single Xtreme XD sub, 4 Calibre surrounds (also in Sapele), and 4 Sonance VP88 ceiling speakers. I recently upgraded to an Anthem AVM 90 processor (no Wavelet in my Legacy HT system). A while ago, it seems you were disappointed in ARC Genesis room correction for multiple subs. Have you tried ARC with the Aeris’s in an HT setup? Also wondering what amps you would recommend with my Legacy setup (my amps are 10+ years old).
That is a beautiful system you have. I have tried ARC with the Aeris, which works great for home theater, but I prefer to tune the speakers without ARC for 2 channel. Why not get the Legacy Audio amps? They pair very well with their speakers, and they look just as good as their speakers.
@@SpecOfTech ... Yessir.. I saw their Mono version also. I need to know why these are any better than PS Audio M700 that also use ICE... Also.. how many other small brands like BuckEye. . VTV ... @@psyphonyxaudio Honestly, my personal feeling on it, is that you aren't buying the Legacy amp because it is vastly out performing other ICE amps. It performs very well, yes, but it's mostly about the aesthetic and brand IMO. I went into it with that mentality. Legacy and Perlisten and JTR sem to be the only high end companies that provide comprehensive and model-matched home theater systems. Have you bought, or are you buying, Legacy surround speakers?
Yes, Legacy has a line up of pro and home theater speakers. I bought a pair of their bookshelves for rear surrounds and pair of of their Pixel on wall speakers for the side surrounds.
I sure do, I mentioned they are a hybrid speaker with powered woofers in the video. When I am referencing that there is no need for a subwoofer, I mean the addition of an external subwoofer. Cheers, Legacy bro!

I think the best type of description comparison for me would be something llike: (the kef r11 is similar in sound signature and is 90 percent as good) meaning the extra cost for diminishing return would be getting 10 percent better than a similar sounding speaker for the extra cost. That is a total hypothetical situation. Just trying to be helpful. I never plan to listen to these and it would help me with the knowledge of how certain speakers sound.
