Late afternoon listening to " Because" , and there's a bird outside my window imitating some of the notes he can hear.
Pure bliss.
Now this is HD Heaven...thank you kindly! An Al di Meola fan for nearly 40 years.
So good to see Paco's cousin Larry here with Al. ty 4 music. Gr8 sound.
al doesn't get enough credit for being so beautifully unique. he really sounds like no other guitarist; just in a world of his own. You never hear anything familiar in his playing, compositions, his sound or approach, like its not derived from anything familiar.
Di Meola has played in a great variety of bandsettings over the years. This (once again beautiful concert) convinces me as a die hard fan (for 30 years now) that his acoustic music sounds best in a small setting like this (of only percussion an one accompanying guitar). It gives Al's playing the breathing space it needs to make him soar (and taking us) through the highest heavens of lyrical music.
Baart Koster i like when he played alone montreaux 86, almost all the album cielo & terra.
@@felmusik5043 That was incredible indeed. I have de dvd, what a concert that was!
As a writer and performer Al is such a joy to watch and listen to. He has remained true to his style. And maintained his skill level at this point I'd rather hear his acoustic playing. His nylon guitar is just killer. With effects he can sound like his Les Paul. Always a pleasure.
Eeeeeeeeh, Mr Russel Crowe definitely can play that instrument.

I'd gone all day without thinking about how terrible I am on guitar. Thumbs up for the reminder!
What's cool is, expansion, the way this artist goes beyond, and keeps on going, so every time you hook onto his train of art, your on the way, not easy to disengage.
Immer wieder begeistert
I really like what the lighting director did in this video. Great looks and vibes for Al’s music, sets a great mood.
Trop classe l'introduction avec Mysterio!!!
Cinema Paradiso
What a beauty sound!
Greeting from Malaysian
Merci "Jazz 3+" for this big hunk of Jazz💖♪ ♫ 🎸🎷 🎻🎹🎺🌺🎧🎼🎩🎩🎩
I stand up now and throw all my guitars into a great fire or from the bridge into the water....what a great performance! Thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it! Keep following to our channel!
Quality music for our souls ...
Great new trio for Al!!
Peo is very sensitive. I love his playing.
Al, I haven't listened to you since your days with Chic Corea. This was not only amazing from a guitarists point of view. But absolutely beautiful!
Who are the accompanying musicians? I am in awe of the complexity and accuracy of it all and those beautiful effects of soaring buzzy distortion and strange steel drumlike sound? How can anyone play this to memory with others so perfectly.
Many true electric artists turn to acoustic music and we gain a lot from this. Blackmore did the same thing 25 years ago and now we can enjoy music that could not be in Rainbow just like Al DiMeola did with his records and we can enjoy Slendido Hotel and World Symphonia !!
Thank you for posting. Simply beautiful.
Bravo!!

Maravilhoso!!!
Master!
Beautiful guitar music!
Ma quanto sei bravo!!!!
class and quality
i thought he defeated ageing, but then i remembered that is for mortals
Sorry to disturb you - but his time will come - as it will for the rest of us
Hair plugs help, too.
D'alllo mes fi magnific
Fantastico
concerto acustico molto bello
Great concert! 'The world has gone mad' made me chuckle, even though it is true. I saw a lot of complaints about the synth. Personally, Al sounds great without it. But he can perform however he wants, and I'll happily listen.
Meola
good
tres bon
Un gran músico
"Brave New World" is also played. Starts at 13:41
❤❤❤❤❤
thank you so much for the upload, wonder what gear that Meola uses in this show, it has the string sounds softly with the melodies he plays, awsome

Kalimera from Greece! who plays the trumpet? thanks for the uploading and sorry for my english
Mediterranean Sundance has to be in the top five greatest guitar instrumentals of all time. I would tell people how great Al was back in ‘75 and they were like Elton John is better. I
I totally agree with you concerning "Mediterranean sundance"... this is really one of the top five of the greatest guitar's instrumental ... Really !.. no doubt !..
ok, 2 minutes 53 into this, and i hear Steve Vai filling in with electric guitar - correct me when i'm wrong...
Or is that just an electronic effect Al is using to dub his own soli?
is Al effect pedal ....ROLAND GR...
That is some awesome synth on the acoustic Al?
What would be the most alike disc of this concert? I'm looking in his discography but I can't find it. Someone please help :)
Soaring through a dream?
I'm doing the same thing.
I would say "The Grande Passion"
A little surprised to see drums but no bass...kinda missing that foundation and punch that the bass provides.
nice touch of distortion on Al's guitar.sounds like an electric
libero
Maturity an ongoing process...
all you need is levis jeans
I can do without the political commentary. Not a Trump or Hillary supporter. I prefer my freedom to either.
Entrevista a Josè Antonio Rodriguez ua-cam.com/video/FDp6lPXsCcY/v-deo.html
Actually for Aldi no need Percussion support as he can create percussion from his guitar...
IMO ... It's melodic and technically very good... he's a great guitarist. But Al's tone with the fuzzed out effect on his classical guitar is awful. Why he chooses this is beyond me. I personally never liked when he uses the Ovation acoustic either... it's such a brittle and thin tone.
Yes I agree, non the less, I think he tried to propose something different and that I respect. He believes on his tone.
Jazz Fusion Fan agreed. That steel drum like effect he always uses is horrible
steve lukather...eddie van halen....chet atkins...mark knopfler...larry coryell // John McGloughlin...steve morse...and Rick emmitt would disagree I think.
Very good concert. I wonder why Al sticks to this guitar....it sounds horrible. I know its MIDI output, but for example Godin or Wechter( johns mcLaughlins nylon) sounds way way better.
Steel > catgut
Mukashi yori monosugoku kaminoke ga fueta... Ktsura? Shokumou?
Of course as always these guys play extremely well, but as soon as there are drums involved, I will always miss the bass instrument of any kind ...! :-(
Love Al ….hate the synth guitar tones . Pan flutes turn me into a werewolf
First tune sadly very false !!! arrgh
still boring
Sorry but this is why in a 150 years everyone will remember acdc and will forget al di miola the sense of tone is really just far off odd sounding even the best players can have a horrible sense of guitar tone.
It always hurts the artist's image when, instead of playing their music, they try to express their political views.
Nice technique- But Muscially it is tiresome and boring. Thumb down-
ADM gets a lot of criticism for being too chopsy -- and I understand that viewpoint -- but with so many jazz subgenres emphasizing virtuosity, I don't find myself penalizing guys for that. ADM is consistently musical, despite all the notes. His beat mastery is just about without parallel among those I've heard. He can push it and pull it like nobody's business, and his staccato attack speaks directly to me as a drumset guy. I think he might actually be a drummer trapped in a guitarist's body.
Jason Cavitt Drums were "his first love".
52:51 is very unique though!
boring
Again..al is reading...his genius accompianist..no reading..so..who do I respect..color man or the lther guy?
superb!!
