- NASA hosted a news conference from the Johnson Space Center in Houston April 3, 2024 to announce the companies selected to move forward in the development of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle under the LTVS (Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services) contract. The award leverages NASA’s expertise in developing and operating rovers to build commercial capabilities that support scientific discovery and long-term human exploration on the Moon. NASA intends to begin using the LTV for crewed operations during Artemis V.

Hurry up, damn it. I'm 70 years old, can't wait forever.
I'm right behind ya at 62. We might be the only group to see Americans on the Moon with Apollo and Artemis. Hang in there!
@@Marty_Boltonhaha that's awesome man - edit - it would have been way awesomererer if NASA had just stayed there in the first place right haha we could have been on Mars decades ago. =)
God bless you sir, stay alive. You got this !!
@@ScumfuckMcDoucheface Thank Congress, and a lack of interest among the public, for that.
But, we've got to maintain a military that dwarfs all others.
@@Marty_BoltonWow - I hadn’t thought about that! I’m in between both of you and I’m going to hang in there doubly hard. 👍
To the moon 🌕 and beyond
Damn, that budget cuts are showing up 😅
Wow 🎉. Such a "fool proof " vehicle. ,for the moon!!
0:40 dune buggy from Battlefield?
You guys can borrow my old 91 Jeep Cherokee, just had to ask haha
How could an LTV cost $4B. It's literally an RC car. Apollo's version cost way less than that. NASA is losing touch with reality
It is really too expensive but lets not compare it to the LRV. There is quite a difference between the demands. The Apollo LRV had to be able to operate 3 days and be driven a maximum of 36km in total. It did not need to recharge or need to have any ability to be serviced or repaired. It did not need to carry anything more than a couple if astronauts and a small bag of rocks. It’s really is like comparing a small private airplane to a jet liner.
Because the shareholders and CEO. Believe they should be paid 3000% more than the people who actually do the work.
@@undertow2142 Nasa is a government agency. There isnt a CEO or Shareholders lol.
Sort of wish they just made Apollo LRV 2.0 for crew mobility, because they want it to be active unmanned it will take so long to develop, design, test and get ready instead
Somebody watching??😈😈😈
haven't you already built this already ?
Not really.
