I’ll be working at a new shop soon while I save money to open a place and the whole “don’t tell anyone” but was exactly what I needed to hear. I’m way too open and honest and I don’t need that biting me in the ass this time.
Tell people dude, be honest. Then that’ll show you who also genuine with you. You might even get a couple people that want to go with you when you start your shop or that will invest with you.
Hey Buddy . I finally Tattooed myself. upper thigh and I'm happy enough with it.. maybe sometime I might be able to show you what I've done. Thanks again for all your advice. Love from New Zealand
I don’t know how to tattoo just want to find quality artist in one place and each one give me a tattoo (I’ll pay of course) but just to prove I trust there process and my decision and there art form.
1st I would like to say congrats on getting 100% on your inspections very cool. I’m from Indiana so I don’t know if I’ll ever make it to your shop but I’m so curious what it looks like. Didn’t know if it would ever be possible to do a shop tour video sometime lol. Totally understand if that’s something that can’t be done lol I’m just so curious. Love this channel and I’ve learned so much from just watching your vids on UA-cam and can’t thank you enough. Thanks again man and look forward to more videos. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Just transitioned as a web developer and my first client is a tattoo shop. I live n a rural city n d Ph but tattoos exploding. Appreciate d huge help. Your doing d right thing and hoping to open my own tattoo shop. Thanks a lot!
I’m in the process of opening a shop,.. I just cannot find decent place to rent. As soon as property owner finds out u gonna open tattoo shop the wanna jack up rent to ungodly prices.. Any suggestions.. I have all equipment needed for a shop and be able to start out with two booths. Just finding that sweet spot is/has been a real pain for me in my area..
Ask them upfront what the rent is and if they try to change the price then you don’t want to rent from them anyways. I never worked in a shop or got a full apprenticeship I’ve had my shop opened for a year and just moved into a way bigger building. Everybody you talk to, just be kind and genuine with
@@StJude-ef1mf ,. I have tried. But whenever they find out it’ll be a Tattoo Shop , price goes from $400-$1200 month to $1,000 week. I’m still polite and courteous,. That’s awesome u got your own shop up and running,. Good Luck, hope it works out for u,.
I know this video is old now, but. I want to know if in kentucky you and you have a separate waiting room from the actual tattoo spot and bays. If you can have fabric in waiting room. I know the bays need to be clean slick surfaces but what about the separate waiting rooms. Everything online is so vague on that part. Only mention of workstations.
Hey so I just got my first machine and I’ve been practicing on skins… a little problem I’m consistently running into is pooling of ink on the surface as I’m working, I do my best to float the needle and I don’t think I’m dragging the tube, maybe I’m wrong but does anybody know other causes of this…I just feel like I’m wasting so much ink and I can’t see my work as I’m going
Would love some feedback on this, so im passionate about tattoos, I've been blessed to be able to be tattooed by some amazing artists out there, but I myself am NOT a tattoo artist, I am thinking of opening a shop because im just in love with the vibe, the process and the lifestyle.....is it taboo in a way for a tattoo shop owner NOT be a tattoo artist himself/herself?
A little late to this comment but plenty of people own businesses and don’t do what the business does. Restaurants owners are not always the head chef. Daycare owners might not have their own kids. Etc. Of course knowledge and experience always helps but not a necessity. Good luck. Owned s few shops/studios over the years. Most recent one for 5 artists cost about $17k, but did a lot of work myself. I personally don’t like the new silent electric machines artist have now. Being in a shop without that classic electric machine sound just feels weird. I no longer spend hours in them anymore, just in the morning taking care of money and supplies. If you can find a place to buy, it’s better than renting, but pros and cons to both. I.e. buy a small business park with 3-5 stores. Pick the best one for your shop and rent the other spaces if not already rented. Of course it’s more money or bigger loan, but more freedom and your rent won’t increase (loan payment will but will be fixed and not a surprise or crazy) or get kicked out for any reason.
Truly, it’s like anything, if you don’t understand the industry you’ll be a bad owner. I’ve never seen a good owner who doesn’t tattoo. You’d be a unicorn
Idk how u manage to do tattoos, run your shop and release these videos damn near daily, most impressive
The biggest thing is balancing all that and having a family! But I make it work! I’ll sleep eventually in life lol

I feel ya man, unfortunately there's not much we can do about things out of our control, like landlords trying to jack up rental rates...
Oh man it’s bad and they will increase it to man
This page is great for beginners I wish my apprentice taught me this years ago

Do you have any tips or videos about the different licensing we will need?
We'll be covering this in our upcoming course on how to open up a tattoo studio in 2 weeks for under $5000! So stay tuned for when it drops soon!
@@Tattooing101where’s the link?
In Colorado you only have to be in a licensed shop. And the health department gives you your license when you past the inspection.
What about wooden floors in a shop?
Thank you
Where is the link??
What about a tattoo barber shop
