I’m sure there’s things I missed and I may make a follow up video/s but if you have any specific questions another video doesn’t answer leave a comment and I’ll try to answer.
Heavy, but lighter than the Kodiak and others... Not bad for a jacket with high quality, built-in D30 armor. I have the same set in black. 3 years how in PNW rain/mud. Awesome stuff. Best bang for the buck from Klim. They have better stuff, but the prices can be twice what the Carlsbad line is. I use it from about 40-80 degrees... Anything warmer than that and I switch to mesh gear.
interesting video thanks for that i have tried the Carlsbad and Badlands i test drove both Badlands is like a knight's armor so heavy Carlsbad is just right i think. which Klime gloves do you have in the video? greetings from germany
I wear the Dakar pro gloves. I ended up tearing through the gloves in the video near the end of last riding season and bought another pair because I like them so much.
Hey Nick, I’m considering the Carlsbad but I’ve heard other reviewers comment that the knee armor on the pants doesn’t line up with their knees, just wondering if you’ve experienced that issue? Greetings from Tacoma..
Tacoma isn’t too far up the I5 from me. I would agree. Knee armor is a funny thing. Walking around it almost always droops below your knee but in the seated riding position it fits perfect for me at least. The pocket is adjustable in the pant maybe a high and low I don’t remember exactly. I have a set of riding jeans I actually took the armor out of because it didn’t fit well at all but these Carlsbad pants I have no comfort issues riding or walking around.
Well you could either wait for the new model or try to pick ip a late model for cheaper. I’ve seen them post on their website trying to offload old stock.
I do clean it per their recommendation. I think I’ve washed it three times now. After I posted this video I rode all through summer time and did the Washington state bdr ride in July. I washed it after that ride because I was so dusty and sweaty. It cleans up real nice with a quick wash but I am starting to notice superficial things after more wear and tear. Still love it!
I bought a Carlsbad jacket&pants in November great jacket I ride a BMW GT 1600 Great jacket 👍 I've been in the rain for long amount of time and was dry.
I definitely messed up and gotten wet but overall this suit has been amazing. I just did a 1200 mile trip out and back across Washington state in 90°+ and was comfortable. The rainy season comes soon…

😂😂😂! Thanks for the info and / or opinions. Safe travels in your journey.
Thanks a lot. Good review.
Thanks a lot for the review.
Thanks.
Thanks so much for the detailed review. Good stuff. Could you please let me know what top case that is?
That is just a dry box I picked up from a local hardware store. Just a plastic hard case I mounted on that bike.
@@nicholascurrymaciel761 Awesome thanks

I'm still hesitating on the Carlsbad as they will probably release a new model next year!

I snagged the current model Carlsbad pants and jacket on the ADV Rider Flea Market for $600. Recommend checking that place out.
The jacket looks new after a year? Despite of the light color. Do you clean in?

How do you find zipping the jacket to the pants? To me it seems the zip is inside out?
I never zip them together so I don’t have an answer for you. I haven’t had any issues with water or wind going up my back without it.
We are almost exactly the same size; are you wearing a Large or a Medium?
Medium jacket and 34 regular pant. Putting them on to ride to work right now!
Do you have the pants as well?
Yes I do
What do you think of those??@@nicholascurrymaciel761
