I was really young, maybe around first grade, when this song came out. I had this ragged old stuffed animal beagle as long as I remember. When the song came out, I was so in love with it whenever it played in my mom's car that I named the stuffed animal Delilah. And yes I still have that stuffed animal to this day. some will see it as immature. But when I feel it's old fur and hear this song after more than ten years, it gives me the nostalgia of the young carefree days. If you read this thx I guess.

Today my cat, Delilah, passed away. Kidney failure. My mother named her after this song when we found her and she’d been a member of our family for over 12 years of my life. She passed away in my arms as I gently sung this song to her and let her know how much I love her and how much everyone loves her. I’ve been trying to breathe and think, but I wanted to just leave a comment here for her. Just a thanks for helping us give her a wonderful name.

not to ruin your comment but this song is based off of him and this girl dalilah (obviously but I forgot her last name) and the leader of the band met her at a party. He tried to woo her by saying he will write a song about her, she clearly stated she has a bf. He didn't care. He made the song about her and in an interview she stated that she felt like a wench because she thought she led him on (she didn't, he just didn't care and wanted her even though she has a bf) and even said that the song turned her life in a nightmare cause wherever she went it'd be playing, the pool, party, club, whatever.
