Just found your channel and love how you guys show how anyone can fish anywhere no matter what! we go to Bamfield every August and its a blast! Where were you boys fishing for those beauty lingers? Thanks and tight lines boys!
Oh I get it now, you're catching small fish, then w/out unhooking that small fish you're lowering it back down (or leaving it down there), NOT un-hooking that small fish, then a "hitchhiker" ling grabs onto it and you slowly bring the ling up and net him before he lets go - the ling is not necessarily hooked! That's LEGAL, from what I understand. I thought you were (I was wrong), you know, putting those small fish in a livewell like most people would think to do with live bait, and then re-hooking them up on a new rod like most people would do, then sending them down, which is think is illegal in BC saltwater. Bravo. Am I right, or not?
This is 100% illegal. Hope you guys have straightened out since posting this video. You cannot fish live bait with edible/keepable fish in any way. it’s clear in the regs don’t see how you can’t see that.
love the vid but just to help you out I know fishing with live greenling or rockfish is by far the best way to catch huge lingcod, but it is very illegal the fisheries will take your boat and all your fishing gear or a 200 thousand dollars fine, so I would watch what you are putting on youtube
It’s completely legal in the area I was fishing, the local tackle shop owner/ also a conservation officer was the one to tell me to do that method..thanks though
When we were fishing at Winter Harbour a few years ago quite a few guys were fishing for sand dabs at the dock for bait to use for ling cod fishing as well
Straight from the regs... "Use of fish for bait When sport fishing, you may not waste any fish suitable for human consumption. However, you are allowed to use fish offal, herring, mackerel, northern anchovy and Pacific sardine as bait when fishing with traps."
100% not legal. States right in the regs, the fish you can use as live bait. And also statea it's not legal to waste any edible fish. Sure didn't see no rock fish in that cooler.
@@kodischwarz You might be right, I don't know. Can you tell us which page in the online reg book it says that using that type of live bait is legal? Thanks!
