This is the definition of cool headed professionalism. To know your captain and first officer are working together with such mutual respect gives great assurance to passengers. That, and not flying on a Boeing, of course
As always, this is phantastic content. Knowing how much effort goes into editing video, I highly appreciate your dedication. We may take such quality for granted, but it clearly is not. From camera placement to the final edit, everything is highly professional. If we had such videos 40 years ago, I would probably have thought about a career in aviation much earlier instead of obtaining a PPL later in life. In any case, this is great study material for flight simming, which is highly appreciated as well.
Many thanks for this video - I really appreciate the longer "whole flight" videos - but I can see that there must be a lot of work that you have to put into making them. The short flight from the UK to Germany across busy airspace shows how much flying needs complicated team work between you and the various ATC controllers -- very interesting

That was absolutely outstanding Stefan, thank you. It was so interesting to see the operations on the ground at Heathrow and I could sense a very high degree of concentration for that. Also very interesting on final at DUS when the FO said "Let's see if it will do it [slow to 160kts] itself" and you said "Maybe need a bit of speedbrake". So I guess when you're in Thrust Idle and Open Descent, the A/P adjusts the angle of descent to capture the target speed but you can't do that when the angle of descent is fixed on the glide slope so you may need to use a bit of speedbrake to make it slow down sometimes, yes? When I am playing on my Microsoft Flight Simulator (it's just the freeware which doesn't simulate the A/P and A/T modes of a real Airbus), I always find it really difficult to slow down at the right time!!! Do you know if there is a VERY simple guide to the Airbus A/P and A/T modes accessible somewhere? - I am very interested in how they interact with manual inputs like the speedbrake. Thank you so much again for a great video.

When the power is already idle and you have to fly a certain speed on the glideslope, you have to use some kind of drag if the plane does not want to slow down. Speedbrakes are a good help. I do not know about a simple guide for the autothrust and autoflight systems interactions. The Airbus FCOM provides a good amount of information.

@@Inflight635 Yes, they shall keep a few things in mind: Always know that the most dangerous part of a trip with an airplane is the travel to and from the airport with a car, bus or so. Watch our videos which may give you a better idea what happens in the cockpit and how we work. Also, you should always know that all important systems in the airplane are installed with a backup or even 2 backup systems. Also, without fuel or running engines, the plane would not fall out of the sky. It would glide like a glider. The whole crew wants to get home safely and will do everything to make that happen!

@@Inflight635 Yes, they shall keep a few things in mind: Always know that the most dangerous part of a trip with an airplane is the travel to and from the airport with a car, bus or so. Watch our videos which may give you a better idea what happens in the cockpit and how we work. Also, you should always know that all important systems in the airplane are installed with a backup or even 2 backup systems. Also, without fuel or running engines, the plane would not fall out of the sky. It would glide like a glider. The whole crew wants to get home safely and will do everything to make that happen!
