@@FishinAccomplished get the brick and let's make the Long Island Sound great again by minimizing metal anchor losses and maximizing near-natural structure!
i'm curious what's the reasoning behind throwing back decent sized keepers? Is it a texture of the meat thing or is it like preservation thing? I'm a newbie but from what I normally hear is throw back DD but you threw back a 21 incher. So what size do you recommend
Yeah... it's a multitude of things. Certainly, there are scenarios where I have (and still would) keep a fish that size. However, I have a good amount of fish stocked up... Generally, I'd prefer to let the larger ones - particularly the females - in the Western Sound go, as they are a slower growing species of fish, and could be helpful to future fish spawns.
That's a great question. Certainly, I'm not an expert, and it varies from species to species, and area to area. I have not analyzed any serious data sets, however, I think it's pretty safe to say that recreational fishing generally has the option to exercise more discretion in the amount of fish they take... However, there are many variables involved. Just one example: not all recreational fisherman follow the letter of the law, to put it nicely.
Well, I could have kept that fish, there’s not slot limit… but since I’m not exactly hurting for fillets, I’m going to let a lot of the larger fish go, particularly the females
Haha, I would love to, though I'm not sure which one to get without buying a new kayak. I was interested in the 36" shaft Motorguide xi3 (What Peter has), but it appears that model has been discontinued...
That was a nice day out.
NIce! I've never caught one of those, they look like they pull really hard! Enjoyed the video.
Some nice fish!!!! Heck yea!!!!
Those jigs did the trick, thanks so much for providing them!
@FishinAccomplished Any time brother!!! Happy to help!!!
Great job nice action
Thank you! Keep those lines tight down on the south shore, we know what time it is!
Lol
Another great video Dan 👏👍👌Lots of action 🔥💪
Thank you! Trying to make it happen while we still can!
You forgot to try the brick anchor I suggested! So long as you are over/next to structure it will work!
Mind sharing tip again. Thx
Yeah, been a bit hectic juggling work and family responsibilities… haven’t had a chance to run to home depot

In your honest opinion, what depletes fish populations faster netting or recreational fishing ?

there is A method of rigging your anchor line with A small ziptie that can break easy so the anchor cant get stuck.
How do you identify the rocks on the fish finders
Good question... There certainly is a noticeable appears they will display on the fish finder... That coupled with reading the charts on Navionics.
You throw em back, because your freezer is full
Haha, well, I'm definitely not hurting for fillets like I was a couple of months ago!
You should put stringer on your rod at the handle. Tie a carabiner to it. Just a suggestion in case
Fair point! Last thing we need is a rod overboard!
why is the regulation limits fish over 21"?

Idk if it’s worth asking but….what town was this in?
Yeah, not worth asking 😊
Need to get an electric with spot lock. No need for an anchor.
