    John it's so cool to see your little girl at your knees as you play. I have 3 toddler grandchildren that visit often. The first place they go is straight to my office/music room to touch the guitars. They are so fascinated with music.

    Wow this is awesome! Thanks for the video John. I'm sure this means a few more updates in the future. I may sell my XL and get this. Its so portable. Would like to ask, How do you think the pod go would pair with Tonex? could you maybe consider making a video with a set up like that?

      It may not matter to you, but keep in mind that Helix Native is not compatible with Pod Go. If you use Helix Native to build patches in-the-box and want to put them on hardware, you have to use Helix or HX hardware.

    Beautiful! @johnnathancordy, I bought the preset package, but don't see the DumbLead or ElmsLead in the list. Did you rename them?

    I think for me, that Dumble-ish one the best tone I’ve heard you get with any of the digital modellers, not least the fantastic bottom end. Great lead sound, and the volume roll-off / cleanish sounds are very similar to what I’m currently getting with the Butter Machine pedal + a clean boost through am all tube amp wet/dry rig. Which is more fun but arguably (ahem) less practical.
    And obviously stellar playing as always.

    I've only messed with this amp very, very briefly but I couldn't get anything close to these beautiful sounds you've got coming from this unit/patch. I'm going to have to pause this video so I can check out your settings. I've never played a "real" Dumble, so I'm coming in blind and that's probably where my stupidity comes from not being able to get it to sound good...yet. As always, thank you for not only your info, but your superb playing.

  • @Nowo78
    @Nowo78 Рік тому +7

    IMO, all RL two-channel (or multi-channel) amps modeled in the Pod Go should be programmed into the system like the Grammatico GSG, i.e. with snapshot-switchable drive channels instead of including them as separate amps (Nrm + Brt + Jump, etc).
    But then again, the PodGo should not suffer from the input impedance issue either.

    • @TheSammyreynolds
      @TheSammyreynolds Рік тому

      I think the newer models don't suffer from the impedance issue. I believe they fixed it with later models.

    • @Nowo78
      @Nowo78 Рік тому

      how would one know if they have an input impedance issue? I play punk rock with relatively high gain, would I notice?

    • @Nowo78
      @Nowo78 Рік тому

      @@tomfoolery4077 To me the difference was discernible at any gain level. Without a buffered pedal the Pod Go sounds muffled - like a blanket was thrown over the speakers. You can try it with any Boss or other non-true-bypass pedal if you don't have a dedicated buffer. EQ can compensate for some of the signal loss but not all.

    • @tomfoolery4077

    All the gear talk aside, can I just point out what an incredible player John is!
    Like for real, no bs, you sir are one of my favorite players alive today. Your tone reminds a lot of David Gilmore, but you've got the ability to play as tastefully as gilmour AND do it with some pretty serious speed. That is rare indeed. The only thing I don't like about your channel, is that you make everything you review sound good so it's difficult to choose when trying to buy any given product... Cheers from the US
