Track bikes are tough to do slow riding on it's either spin bog or burn clutch up feeding power. I'll get my leg strong go back to track riding.
I just got a '04 crf450r with a hot cam with a full topend rebuild to compliment, 480 bore, qs2 injector and a full fmf straight pipe. Ive havent been able to ride it yet due to a failing accelerator pump diaphragm, but i did get it starter for about a minute. It spits 10 inch blue flames on decel.
Its also my first bike 😀

I’d it backfires on decel just when revving I’d get the jetting checked before you ride it so it doesn’t run lean and burn out the piston. If you haven’t ever rode anything ever, good luck all the way. More than likely it will be way too much. A stock 250 is too much for someone with no experience lol
@@WheelieWeasel I've rode several bikes before. The jetting *should* be set to run a proper a/f mixture. I was told it spits flames because it's a race machine through and through, but I will read the plug after I get some time on it
Riding and owning bikes can be different lol. Just be safe on it man! But it shouldn’t backfire at all revving it, if it does jetting is off. It should rev smooth and decel smooth. Backfiring is a sign of too much fuel

The sputtering on the high end might be your jetting (I'm assuming it has a carb and no fuel injection), could be a bit on the rich side. I think FMF has recommended jetting when you use their pipes, I'd see what their recommendations are and then see what's in the bike and go from there. Could be the clip position or high speed jet. One size up on the high speed jet caused that same sputtering in my xr400
FMF does require jetting, especially when going with a full exhaust. I'm not sure what the jetting is so when I pull apart the carb I'll check lol. I got it as is so I'm not 100% sure on it yet

i just got a 07 crf450r im setting it up for harescrambles, ita a monster, but make sure its got a manual timing tensioner honda really fucked up on the OEM tensioners 02-08

@@spiderwebber32 heck yeah! Glad you’re still here to talk about it too lol. I know a lot of people that got hurt bad starting on a 150f trail bike, I couldn’t imagine someone starting on a 450 😂

The outer clutch basket had grooves in it and caused the plates to rattle

Honestly that’s a great idea! I have a second channel where I was wanting to create weed and dirt bike content and call it “Bikes and Bongs” but I may just do that instead!

it's not 07, wrong frame, check your vin, 10th digit, should be 2, 3 or 4
also it sounds like trx bcs it have exactly the same engine
Hondas have the year model on the frame, no need to check the 10th digit. It was 100% a 2007. I’ve had a 03, an 04, two 05s, this 07, an 09 and a 16 model 450. Also the 03-07 Crf450r is identical. 08 they redesigned it a little bit and then 09 they went fuel injection. Trust me I know my 450s lol.
Also the odds of this bike having the wrong frame is like 100000000 to 1. People in kentucky don’t swap engines on frames. Unless it’s like a FI Crf450r engine on a trx450r. Also If it was the wrong frame, counting the digits on the vin would also come up as wrong considering the vin and year model are placed on the same spot of the frame just a few inches apart
@@WheelieWeasel I understand that you had many honda's but i had too and im 100% sure that's 02-04, and also noone swap frame or engine bsc from 02 to 08 its the same engine, however frame is different in 05-08, just look at 2 photos of 07 and for example 04. To be exact, you can tell the difference by looking on that part of frame thats near vertical under the seat, it's stright, right? Then look at 07 photo from the internet, its "S-like", round. The second difference is weld on frame, i can't exacly describe it bcs english is not my first language, but just compare it and you will see. Next difference, plastics on tank, and under seat, again just check some shop who sell 02 and 08 plastics ( better red color bcs you can see more differences on it), they are different, and bcs of that seat is little bit different too. Also you probably know but number plate and front fender are not from 04 nor 07, its from much newer bike. Someone swiched or painted front wheel too.
Most importantly I don't want to offend you in any way, I just want to prove my point.
how tall are you does the bike fit nice on you
5’10-5’11 or so and it’s kinda tall when it comes to touching the ground but when seated it’s almost perfect!

@@nle_floppabag4411 I’d try something else first 😂 a good 230 or something would be better for ya, Maybe even a 250. A 450 is a quick ticket to get hurt without good throttle control lol

that's a 1st gen crf450 02-04 not an 07
It was definitely an 07. Said 07 on the frame and the 10th digit of the vin lined up with the year on both the engine and the frame.
I’ve had an 02,04,05 this 07, 09, 11, 16 a 17 and a 17rx. That’s just the Crf450rs I’ve had lol.
If you’re wondering about the way it looks it’s got a 2010 Crf450r front fender and number plate with 03 shrouds because I couldn’t find the black ones for a 07-08. Also had a Crf450x rear fender

It’s mounted on the chin just like the 300+ other videos I have lol. A lot of people run chest mounts so this is quite literally as high as it can get without putting it on top of my helmet lmao
