Spent a week at Magic Waters Patagonia. Casting in windy conditions was the only downside. Best fly fishing I've ever experienced. 18 inch wild browns were normal and abundant. 24 inchers were landed. Great guides and wonderful food.
Eduardo and Consuelo run a fabulous operation. Chile in that area is safe and friendly. Much Scottish and Germanic influence. Can't wait to go back.

Just spent a week in red flag conditions in the Eastern Sierras. Lots of short casts and roll casts made it doable.

I’m left handed, have trouble if wind coming from the left.

Try turning around so that your left hand is downwind and delivering the fly backhand (on your back cast)

Turn to the side, cast low and deliver on your back cast. Higher line speed and double haul will help.
