Fantastic playing, lovely board and wonderful soundscapes, and your presentation style is just super chill. I think I need a Mood now. And a Microcosm 😊 Thanks for doing this! I like everything about this. You have curated a very well-thought-out board that makes some gorgeous noises. I appreciate the variety of boutique and non-boutique pedals you use. Your playing and melodic choices are very soothing and inspiring. Even the room your playing in has such nice vibes. I've been considering the Carbon for a while for a low-gain/boost/clean-tone shaper option, but I also think I might like the Origin Effects DCX Boost. I love the way the Carbon sounds in your setup.
Thanks for your kind words man!!! 🙌 Yeah, sometimes it doesn't have to be boutique stuff, but sometimes it's that one pedal without an alternative. The Carbon is my favourite low gain pedal so far. Fantastic video, awesome board and killer sounds. Could you please explain the canvas stereo setup again? I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but I reckon it'll help me achieve stereo with my similar mono rig. I run my delays and reverbs through the effects loop in my amp, and they do have stereo capabilities.
Hey man, if you have only one amp to run your pedals through, than the Canvas won't do anything turning that into stereo. I run the Canvas to sum my Stereo Board (the Canvas has a Sum Button for the through output) to mono, otherwise I would loose one side of my PingPong Delay for example. The DI Box let's me play amp mono or my stereo into my interface without having to swap cables. What's your setup? Are you able running two amps, or can you go direct into a PA System?
Very nice. I didn’t know you could do the looping on the delay selection of the mood. I have the mk2 and love it. How is the delay loop still playing after you turn off the foot switch, do you have a certain dip switch for that? Thx great playing
@@Skiptothebeat007 Yeah, Mood is such a deep pedal to dive into! Great video, killer board and sounds. Can you explain the canvas stereo again, i'm a little slow but think that it will let me go stereo as I have a very similar mono rig, dels and revs through effects loop in amp, dels and revs have stereo functionality
Thanks for your kind words! From the Microscosm on everything is going to be stereo on board, so I go stereo into the DI. From there I have a through connection and a DI/Line level out. The DI out is staying stereo, which I use to go into my Interface or to play into the PA. If I want to use my regular amp, which is obviously mono, I use the throught output, which allows me to sum to stereo signal to mono via a button. Without summing I would lose the right side of my signal, which would cause my delays just sending the left side repeats into my amp. Feel free to ask more specific if that didn't answered your question completely!✌️
Thanks for sharing your thoughtful choices, especially your thoughts on using Carbon to differentiate overlapping guitar tracks. I returned my Protein because I didn’t like the green side, but I did like how the blue side brightened up an OCD when stacked. I think it’s interesting you place your compressor after your overdrive and Mood. I usually put compression first. Any thoughts on that? Lastly: I would be interested if you’ve ever tried the 29 Pedals Euna. Sounds like you already have a pristine signal, but I highly recommend it.
I haven't tried the Euna by now, but I think it will do magic to the signal for sure. At the moment I have the Limelight on my board and the Boost on that pedal is already sweeteing the signal, in a way the Carbon can't on its own. So yes, I think I need to try Euna...or better not, because of it's pricetag 😅 As far as the Compressor goes, it's always before Overdrive for me. The Carbon is very sensitive due to its dynamic response. Compressing my guitar before the Carbon, would kill some of the dynamics from my picking. I don't want to flat the signal beforehand. With Mood, I sometimes just fade in little snippets here and there, which can be very unintrusive, so compressing the signal after wouldn't be a game changer for me. Also, Mood would be before my Drive...and I haven't tried that by now. Maybe I have to experiment out if curiosity now 😁 Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
