I’m happy if this video helped 😁
Hi Gilly, what a great tutorial 🤩🤩 I’ve been a fan of yours for years, however it’s always best to get any new tricks & tips😊 Thanks for going over different ways to choose mixing, what colours mix best with a colour of paint etc. Have a great day, Cheerio🥰
Not just like, Love your tips and tricks! If I get back down to Queensland again, I will bring you some of my own recipes, you can eat mine though! I appreciate you for teaching me how to do all this stuff. You explain things very well so I hope o can make you proud of my own pours. I ordered a ton of stuff from your shop on Amazon and am so excited to get the paints and other things I need for this new hobby!
Thanks much, Cheers
Thanks 😊 for that information. Now to put it into practice

Thank you! 😃
Great detailed info, thanks
Thanks Gilly for sharing!! Really do appreciate it!
Your most welcome 🤗
Really glad I watched this video. I’ve only used Apple Barrel paints and your 70-30 mix so far and I now know why my projects haven’t turned out like they should. Thank You for sharing!
As always you xplain so well so clear Good Dai day to you😍
I can't believe I haven't watched this before. Fantastic info. Just a tip. I bought plastic cups with lids from ebay. Cheap as chips
Awesome 👏 just been sent some eco reusable silicone cups with lids, I’ll do video and show them 🤗
Gilly , thank you for ALL your videos.. I think I am about 3/4 of the way through them all, love your honesty, your tips, and sometimes giggle at your comments, I now don't stress about any of it, I try to just have fun, like you do, I also love all your experiments.. that you share. you have some amazing pours.
Thank you for the series. So clearly explained and I cant wait to get started on my own paint pours.
YAY!!!!! another Modge Podger GIlly!!!! (i,m also called Gilly!)- ive kinda went round from straight out the jar to 50/50 water and every single one i was happy with! Obv the thinner and less brush or sponge . Yeah i love the results and fast (and im in scotland!!!).....i also use a lil PVA sometimes- which i get 500ml for £1!!!!!
Great 👍🏼
Thanks again Gilly.
I am lucky to have a laminator and when I laminate a pouch without any paper in between, they make great swipe sheets
I’m new to acrylic paints and this has been the best explanation I have seen. Thank you so much Gilly
You are so welcome!
Gilly thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks with us , this is very much appreciated
And it is true about different pouring medium and the kind of paint we use some are thicker then others .
This was great advice , thank you ❤️
Linda Ch. thank you, it’s just my personal opinions and findings 🥰
Happy pouring cell mate
Hello from Colorado, USA You have a beautiful English accent ❤ I am new and have had a few paintings turned out ok but nothing like yours. I saw a video last night that used Rain repellent glass cleaner to bring out cells 😱! Going to try one of your paintings later today…excited! I think you make the prettiest paintings of anyone else I have watched.
Aww thanks so much 😃🤗
You are so real…..I like you😉
Very informative, thank you.
Thank you, Gilly! Wonderful! You are amazing!
Just watched your basic how to video. THANK YOU. Tomorrow I'll do my first paintings!
Wonderful enjoy 😊
Tyvm for sharing ❤️
Thanks Gilly. Extremely helpful. I made paints yesterday and put the damp teatowel over the top overnight but it looks like I've made mine too thick, but I can now fix that before I do my first try at trying to get Gilly Clusters 😁 I'm so excited! 😀💜🐨👍👍👍🤗
Sue Kleinschmidt so happy you found this video helpful, just add a bit of water or more pm to thin your paints if they thicken to much 🥰
Please show me your first pour on my Facebook art page please facebook.com/gillykubeartsecretwomensbusiness/
Good luck and be prepared to become addicted 😂😂
Thanks Gilly just started pouring still learning keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for information ❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
"Hello" from South East, New Mexico, USA
Thank you so much for sharing this great video.
Judi Christopher hi 👋 or should I say gooday from Australia 🥰
@@gillykubeart
Awww Thank YOU!!!!
You made my day (or night here) lol
I love to experiment, I find it relaxing, even if I don't like the end result. I just hate running out of supplies, lol! Thank you for making this video, I'm very new to pouring.
LivingLoving thank you for watching 😃
Thank you for the great tutorial!! Just wanted to let you know that Floetrol is not a pouring medium. It is a paint conditioner used to extend the paint so you don't use as much paint. A pouring medium is used to bind paint so that it will last for many years. Anyway great tutorial!! Thanks again!!!
You can use Floetrol as your pouring medium everyone does these days..maybe not when things started..gotta loosen up Steph and have fun..as Gilly says 'dont sweat the small stuff!'
@@jennyc1846 , Thank you for your comment!
Thank you Gilly, it’s so lovely to listen to you & refreshing to find an Aussie with wonderful advice. You’ve helped me immensely, hi from a newbie, Perth 😘
Thank you Gilly craftonline is out of stock they will let me know when it is in. Once again thank you for the time you spend helping us all and replying to our questions. You are a wonderful lady
Larraine Longhurst hopefully craftonline gets more soon I’m running out, someone suggested asking costco to get in stock, I’m going to email them and spotlight, target etc
I don’t actually get around to answering everyone as my Facebook artpage takes a lot of my time 🥰 oh and my painting.
So happy if I can help in anyway, but it’s all my personal opinions only 🥰
I like your style on abstract art..It SHOULDN'T be stressful!..Im like u..I do my OWN thing as well...Love your art Lady!!!..LOVE IT!🎨🎨🎨
L. Michele aww 🥰 thanks so much for the lovely message
Thank you so much for this video on tips and tricks. I don't normally leave a comment but your no nonsense approach to explaining your tips and tricks was refreshing. We do some things the same but I definitely learnt some new stuff. I also live in Queensland and originate from England. I do struggle to find affordable paint and accessories, obviously these items are incredible cheap in America but here everything is so excy, so any cheap outlets you have come across and would like to share would be very much appreciated. I look forward to following your videos from now on. Many thanks... Rebecca
Rebecca Villiers thanks so much for the lovely message.
Yes I will certainly keep you in the loop for any goodies I find for our art.
Hi Gilly thank you for sharing Your knowledge. You explain so well thank you.

Just found your site and love your work. Thanks for all the helpful videos.
Just starting out. This was extremely helpfull. Thank you so much for sharing
You're so welcome!
Definitely want to try the Modge Podge❣️
Beware, the Modge Podge can leave paint brush lines.
hopefully not this one.. because it is glossy.
What a great tutorial. Thank you. I'm not new to pouring, however I believe there is always more to learn. I have been wondering about the Mod Podge Gloss Sealant and now I know that it works quite well. Again, thank you. I always enjoy your videos and your art is so lovely.
moma thank you for your kind comments 😁
Mod Podge is actually Pva glue and plaster of Paris. I learned that at art class
Love the colors. Please show us final version....cannot wait to see it
Theresa Nelson Swango you can see all finished photos of my work on my acrylic art by gilly kube Facebook page 😃
thank you so much for this video i really like all of your videos
mirettegamal thank you ☺️
I Love your jumbo push pins!
Sally Loves all Series Turkish 🤣🤣
Hi Gilly I just watched you do a twin pour and I found it fantastic
When you first did the pour it resembled an X-ray of a torso and I could see the two lungs I loved it thank you for sharing it
Regards
Diane Galvin
Di Galvin thank you 😊
Thanks you answered some of my questions.
I did my first pour today and my paints were completely too runny.
Maybe I can get it right next time.
What a great tutorial.⭐️⭐️ I'm been pouring for six months or so, must say it's a very expensive hobby but so addictive. Thanks for your paint suggestions and will try Byron paint and mod pog glue for the varnish protection.💖
Susan it doesn’t have to be expensive. Some paint brands are expensive, sure, but there are less expensive options. Here in the US, I recently found acrylic craft paints on sale at Wal Mart for 50 cents each. Glue All is only a couple of dollars. I have found canvases for $1 each, so I can do a 3 color pour for about $3 to $4.
This is such an informative video... thank you so much for all the tips! 💖
Sil Green thank you 😊
Hi Gilly from Bunbury West Aust. Thank you some much for such good information 💕
I only use Elmer's Glue All and only Apple Barrel Paints. I've never had any problem with mixing them, and I get great cells.
Trudy Mintun that’s great, not sure why my appleberry paint goes to jelly with Elmer’s 😁
I am so glad to hear that... I'll try it. Thank YOU.
Yes, Thank you so much for giving we 'newbies' all these new tips & great ideas ! I would like to ask if possible, when you can, would you show us & talk more about the cup holder your husband made for you..( & p.s...you've got a good man that would do this fr you) ! I'd like to see the material he used...Just finished watching 2 of your videos & find both very informative ! Thanks again
thank you very helpfull
Thank you.
Loved this!!!!! So weird seeing you use other paints other then monte mart😱😱😱😂😂😂. I started painting in December-ish and thats all youve used and love all your work😍. Just love how positive and cheerful you are!!!! You brighten my days up🌈🌞
Your so relaxed painting .I like to go out in my studio relax then paint .I'm going to try the brand of paint you use .We will see .Watch WATCHING watch .📹🔔😘🎈
Spotlight in Australia 🇦🇺 do stock Elmers Glue All, I buy the 900ml on sale for about $8AUS. Aussie Floetrol 4lt about $60 at Bunnings
Aloha to you for taking the time for this tutoring to all of us with a lot less experience and multiple questions. I got several and this covered a bunch. I got one more- would you tell how many years/you've spent doing this. I would love to get just a little bit more confidence in myself and not give up. I got so many canvases I don't like and redo way to many times. Mahalo from the Big Island of Hawaii.
59kicki hello Hawaii 🥰🥰 I’m going to visit soon hopefully Hawaii
Iv had interest in art all my life, only about two years ago started creating the acrylic flow art, even though I did have an art teacher in school years ago do a similar technique.
It’s addicting and no please don’t give up because once you get your own stride going nothing will stop you improving 🥰🥰
I use elmers/water for PM and use Apple Barrel paints and it seems to mix fine for me...........
I love your video's Gilly thank you for sharing so much with us
FreeSpirit Art thank you 😊
Thank you Gilly, very useful information on this video, take care and be well, cheers :)
CC's World AUSTRALIA thank you so much ☺️
Thank you for this video!
Hi Gilly. Have you tried Golden Gloss Varnish? I swear by it. Mix roughly 60/40 with water and wipe on with a damp micro fibre cloth. It has a good gloss finish and has UV protection. It dries very quickly and you can resist after around 15 minutes x
Kathy Escott sounds great I’ll certainly give it a go. 🥰
Reapply not resist! 🤣
Thank you !
merci pour le Tuto très jolie
Thank you love
You are so welcome
This has helped loads i use Elmers myself really struggling to form decent cells with my art lord know whats going wrong also i use wd40 for silicon
This recipe is over 3 years ago, I don’t use silicone much at all now, keep it simple pouring medium and globalcolours 😄
I love a girl who tells it how it is!! Too many people putting their two bobs worth in these days Gilly and causing trouble, thanks for your thoughts...because everyone..that's what they are 'Gillys thoughts' you can have your own too.
Thank you 🌸
You’re welcome 😊
Grazie.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO
I’d love to see you list all your items in the description box if possible, and possibly add a link to purchase them.
I now have links to in my recent videos to purchase items in my Amazon store 😆
Thank you Gilly for the videos you post.
I have a basic question what type of plastic cups do you use.
Just take away recyclable plastic 😄
Thank you, very helpful.
Hi Gilly greetings from South Australia. It's nice to find an Aussie doing pouring and doing videos because I can relate to the products being shown An alternative to silicone I've tried is coconut cooking oil but only getting into this art recently I'm not sure if it compares well to silicone when you floetrol what is the ratios that you use? Cheers
Gavin Ditcham hi
I’m not sure cooking oil is a good option but give it a go and see hey.
If I use floetrol I just add to whatever paint brand I’m using just bit at a time until the consistency is like pouring cream.
You will soon become addicted 😜
Hi Gilly, watching all of your videos for beginners again. Is the glue clear or white? Also, if you know, how long can paint sit before being used? I bought all of my supplies last year (I have a lot of paints) Then I got sick. I'm just starting to feel a bit better and really want to begin pour painting soon. Everything has been in the room I intend to use since September. I don't have heat going into that room due to certain items. It's cold and very tolerable. Should my paints, mediums, silicone, etc, be okay? Love your videos always. I catch up on days that I'm not stuck in bed. Love from Canada.
hi ! your paint is so nice ..... i am a beginner and i have difficulties to realise the good mix . Could you please tell me how much of each product you pour to get such a nice mix ? thank you for answer
Merci
What do you call the thingy on top of the butane can so I can get on eBay too. Good tips push pins and blue tape. I’m an Aussie so I’m glad you gave a few alternative brands of paint. So refreshing to have a video by an Australian using products I’m able to buy . I’m 500km from the nearest art store so I rely on Bunnings and online Australian art store. Riot Art and Artshed and art to art, all do online orders and quick response time, instead of a month from USA
lorrane I use a great family run Australian art store www.caprioleshabbychic.com.au
The above Australian suppliers have a great range of acrylic pouring products, air compressor, heat guns,
Mont marte paints and glues, various sizes and colours, canvas etc
Helmar silicone and helmar glues
Just ask Diane or Anthony
The butane attachment is called an auto ignition gun for butane torch, tape and jumbo push pins are from the same online store, if you can’t see something just ask them they are so helpful that’s why I use and love them 🤩🤩
I get so confused with all the different solutions I found an 'Elmer's washable clear Glue' which I used. Not sure if it's right or not. I thought pouring solution was all I needed, (along with the silicone of course). Then I saw that the Floetrol was called a paint conditioner, not a pouring solution, so do I need both? I'm a beginner and have had very little luck with my cells but I do know that my paint has been too thick so far.
Thank you so much for your tutorials. I’m inspired by you to give this a try. I do have a question, do you mix the floetrol 1 to 1 with the paint?
I normally use only Artist Loft Paints. I found the apple barrel cracked and didn’t get the colors to separate as well. But it’s probably me, not the paints. Found many who do use the apple barrel just fine.
Sue Walters we can’t get Appleberry paints in Australia we have to order from USA online, same applies though, each of us get different results with the same brands sometimes 😁
I was curious to know which mixture do you use for the balloon smash?
I’m also just getting started. Thank you for your time to share your knowledge. I’m having problems with my paint now blowing. What do you use for your pillow and the white when pouring around the colors? I’m wondering it this is the problem why they won’t blow.
Thank you 😊 I usually use the same white mint marte paints with same pouring medium medium, just thin paints to get it to blow around for that technique 😊😊
Hi Gilly! I have a question. Do you add silicone to all your paints including your SWIPE color? So many others don't add the silicone to their swipe color. You may have already addressed this but I've not heard it. I have only used colors without silicone for the swipe color and wondered if it works with the silicone in the swipe color? Thanks! I enjoy watching you! Love your cute accent! You make it fun!
Hi Gilly, I am trying to find the video where you tell us how to make your Berrylicious, any help would be great
Hi Gilly I need advice on how to start & where to get supplies
Thank you Barbara
Hi Gilly would you do one with the floetrol pouring mix...thank you this was very helpful to me .....
How do you know if your Elmer’s glue is PVA? I have a jug of clear but it only says washable clear glue.
Do you mix flow troll the same as you mix glue 70 to 30?
Thank you can’t wait to get going.
Thank you Gilly for the excellent description and show of the thickness required. What size cup was it you were using to mix into? I have watched you work for the last two days and cannot get enough of it. I love your work, much easier than anyone else I have watched.
Michelle van der Walt I’m happy to hear that, hopefully I help explain and can be understood easy.
The cup in theses are just the small coffee cups. Thanks for watching 🥰🥰
I have never mixed my paint 24 hours in advance. Do you cover the cups or just leave them sit open?
Your tips are very helpful for me as a beginner.
Sherry Mervold I always have much better results when I do so.
I cover with damp tea towel, 😃
I cover with a wet paper towel.
Does the glue and paint not turn into slime? I tried glue mixture with my pain and it blobs...
Sara Sutton not if you pre mix the pva glue with water making it your pouring medium, then as mentioned just slowly add to your acrylic paints until consistency of pouring cream 😊
Can you tell me where I can get the push pins you use. I live in the US..thank you
Please test out a few colours,in the new paint (replacement for global)
do you prepare these paints a day before!?...I think you once told us so, and if you prepare it, how do you cover them over night!? greetings from Berlin
i cover with a damp cloth :)
