    Thank you for the great tutorial!! Just wanted to let you know that Floetrol is not a pouring medium. It is a paint conditioner used to extend the paint so you don't use as much paint. A pouring medium is used to bind paint so that it will last for many years. Anyway great tutorial!! Thanks again!!!

    • @jennyc1846
      @jennyc1846 4 роки тому +2

    • @jeffmega1197

      Susan it doesn’t have to be expensive. Some paint brands are expensive, sure, but there are less expensive options. Here in the US, I recently found acrylic craft paints on sale at Wal Mart for 50 cents each. Glue All is only a couple of dollars. I have found canvases for $1 each, so I can do a 3 color pour for about $3 to $4.

    Aloha to you for taking the time for this tutoring to all of us with a lot less experience and multiple questions. I got several and this covered a bunch. I got one more- would you tell how many years/you've spent doing this. I would love to get just a little bit more confidence in myself and not give up. I got so many canvases I don't like and redo way to many times. Mahalo from the Big Island of Hawaii.

    Hi Gilly. Have you tried Golden Gloss Varnish? I swear by it. Mix roughly 60/40 with water and wipe on with a damp micro fibre cloth. It has a good gloss finish and has UV protection. It dries very quickly and you can resist after around 15 minutes x

    Hi Gilly greetings from South Australia. It's nice to find an Aussie doing pouring and doing videos because I can relate to the products being shown An alternative to silicone I've tried is coconut cooking oil but only getting into this art recently I'm not sure if it compares well to silicone when you floetrol what is the ratios that you use? Cheers

    • @gillykubeart
      @gillykubeart  5 років тому

      Gavin Ditcham hi
      I’m not sure cooking oil is a good option but give it a go and see hey.
      If I use floetrol I just add to whatever paint brand I’m using just bit at a time until the consistency is like pouring cream.
      You will soon become addicted 😜

    Hi Gilly, watching all of your videos for beginners again. Is the glue clear or white? Also, if you know, how long can paint sit before being used? I bought all of my supplies last year (I have a lot of paints) Then I got sick. I'm just starting to feel a bit better and really want to begin pour painting soon. Everything has been in the room I intend to use since September. I don't have heat going into that room due to certain items. It's cold and very tolerable. Should my paints, mediums, silicone, etc, be okay? Love your videos always. I catch up on days that I'm not stuck in bed. Love from Canada.

      lorrane I use a great family run Australian art store www.caprioleshabbychic.com.au
      The above Australian suppliers have a great range of acrylic pouring products, air compressor, heat guns,
      Mont marte paints and glues,various sizes and colours, canvas etc
      Helmar silicone and helmar glues
      Just ask Diane or Anthony
      The butane attachment is called an auto ignition gun for butane torch, tape and jumbo push pins are from the same online store, if you can’t see something just ask them they are so helpful that’s why I use and love them 🤩🤩

    I get so confused with all the different solutions I found an 'Elmer's washable clear Glue' which I used. Not sure if it's right or not. I thought pouring solution was all I needed, (along with the silicone of course). Then I saw that the Floetrol was called a paint conditioner, not a pouring solution, so do I need both? I'm a beginner and have had very little luck with my cells but I do know that my paint has been too thick so far.

    Thank you so much for your tutorials. I’m inspired by you to give this a try. I do have a question, do you mix the floetrol 1 to 1 with the paint?

    I normally use only Artist Loft Paints. I found the apple barrel cracked and didn’t get the colors to separate as well. But it’s probably me, not the paints. Found many who do use the apple barrel just fine.

      Sue Walters we can’t get Appleberry paints in Australia we have to order from USA online, same applies though, each of us get different results with the same brands sometimes 😁

    I’m also just getting started. Thank you for your time to share your knowledge. I’m having problems with my paint now blowing. What do you use for your pillow and the white when pouring around the colors? I’m wondering it this is the problem why they won’t blow.

      Thank you 😊 I usually use the same white mint marte paints with same pouring medium medium, just thin paints to get it to blow around for that technique 😊😊

    Hi Gilly! I have a question. Do you add silicone to all your paints including your SWIPE color? So many others don't add the silicone to their swipe color. You may have already addressed this but I've not heard it. I have only used colors without silicone for the swipe color and wondered if it works with the silicone in the swipe color? Thanks! I enjoy watching you! Love your cute accent! You make it fun!

    How do you know if your Elmer’s glue is PVA? I have a jug of clear but it only says washable clear glue.

    Thank you Gilly for the excellent description and show of the thickness required. What size cup was it you were using to mix into? I have watched you work for the last two days and cannot get enough of it. I love your work, much easier than anyone else I have watched.

      The cup in theses are just the small coffee cups. Thanks for watching 🥰🥰

    I have never mixed my paint 24 hours in advance. Do you cover the cups or just leave them sit open?
    Your tips are very helpful for me as a beginner.

      Sara Sutton not if you pre mix the pva glue with water making it your pouring medium, then as mentioned just slowly add to your acrylic paints until consistency of pouring cream 😊
