Never underestimate the leverage a vice presesident has. Just by being 2nd in line make a difference. When Andrew Cuomo resigned, Hochul became gpvernor of New York State. The Republicans scoffed at Hochul calling her "governor by accident ," until she won re-election by defeating Zeldin. The same thing could happen to Kamala.
