im not sure if this is in the comments somewhere or u mentioned it in the video, but can you please highlight or elaborate on the feature that lets u know how much beats each chord gets?
I use version 4 with my Mac. Waa! Every time I try to download the chord-identifier plug-in, there is no option to download or export. It says "attachment," So I download the attachment (which is NOT a zip file), and put it into plug-ins folder. I click on it and it says I need an application to open it. None of my applications will open it. So I sure don't have any success with it.
I have tried this plugin but my issue with it is that the analysis is purely "objectively" looking at the chords disregarding its musical function in a greater context. It also does not seem to recognize inversions (could missed a setting ?). An example: - Augmented 6 chords are not recognized as V/V - As a result it does not reccognize modulation to different keys. In my example I have: I - IV6 - V2 - (G) Aug6 - (G) I64 - V7 - I , it interprets it as: I - IV -V42 - BIIIb7 -V64 - bV06 - V (staying in C). It is not my intention to sound ungrateful because I am ! it still is a helpfull tool but it definitely is not a 1 click solution for the "lazy' composition student * wink wink lol.
@@musicspicerackwithjim2332 i see the problem, it doesn't work for a single flute piece, only piano. Wish they had one for an Accordion. But can come in handy still. Thanks for the help.
Nice tutorial. Frustrating because the only plugin that works for me with guitar scores is the pop and Jazz. The most useful for me would be the specialized but doesn't work no matter what I tried. I tried Musescore 3 and 4 with same results. Thank you🙂
I don’t write too much for guitar but this is good to know. Did you ever try posting in the forum? The development team has worked so hard but little things like this would be a beautiful thing
@@grassrootspiano I don't write. I mainly use Musescore to play scores to learn guitar. I know how to add tablature to regular scores and it is easier in Musescore 4. Once I have the tab I want to know the chords so it's much easier to put the fingers. I don't need to hear the chords so I uncheck play in the settings. The chords in the pop and Jazz plugins are too complicated. I know probably the usual basic 20 to 30 chords. The plugin looks very useful because the plugin finds the chord for me and saves lots of time. The main problem is that when something doesn't work you start trying to figure out why and waste lots of time instead of playing music.
I just tried the plugin on a different score and it worked (24_Etudes_op.35__-Fernando_Sor_1778-__1839_Tablature). It looks like is in Musescore 2 format. If you try to convert to the 3.x or 4.x format the plugin won't work. If you try to use the plugin on any 3.x score it won't work.
Thank you so much for your time❤
I can't thank you enough. You really helped. I am working with Musescore 4, but I managed to discover the way to make the two plugins work.
Does it still work? If so please share how you got it to work
Hey Jim! Just found your channel, great quick tutorial on this plugin
Thank you Jim!

Hmmm. Special V3 doesn't seem to work in MuseScore 4.4.3... the plugin window comes up blank when loaded.
ditto

Is there a software notation where you can play a chord on the midi keyboard and the chord symbol will appear above the stave?
Dorico can but let me check as I thought Musescore can too...
I don't see this plugin for Musescore 4....😞
I still use three more often, did you go to the forum?

in Plugin Manager, "chordIdentifier" does not need to put check mark?
not sure have stopped using that plugin as of late..more vids coming
I did all that but it doesn't work. Please help. I need this plug-in to work. Nothing happens when I click ok. No chords. Tried everything.
Mac or PC? Did you highlight all the notes first?

Does chords analizer plug in pop and jazz work with musescore 4?
Thank you.
I have not tried it, but I expect if it doesn’t now it will fairly soon
