30 year old design but still looks cutting edge! These cars were truly ahead of their time
To think, I thought the Peugeot 905 was the best V10 powered Group C car. But this one, seeing it pushing limits, it just sounds so much raw-er and that front looks like it was borrowed from a fighter jet! This *for me*, has become the best sounding Group C car

what a car, what a sound!
This car was one of the best customer cars under the new (1991 and onwards) regulations. Those new regulations (thanks to Mosley, Ecclestone and Balestre) were a tool to syphon the big manufacturers into F1. It also meant the downfall for WSC, Group-C and Group-C2.
It was a brave attempt to develop a car and engine from both manufacturers that had no intentions to move on to F1. Mazda had a similar faith with its MRX-01, aswell as BRM, Brun, Gebhardt and Allard (very interesting car, search for Allard J2X-C). After 2 years Group-C was gone.
A real shame, because it ended a fantastic and relatively affordable era of a wide variety of car configurations and crreativity.
But the new cars were spectacular to say the least!
Now Lola are back in business, lets hope they can produce a Le Mans car again :) this car I've seen in real life and heard. Its beyond amazing!
She was at the Le Mans Classic (2023) this weekend. From the Dunlop, we could hear her entering the pit straight with our eyes closed. Incredible.

Group C was and is still the best ever class of cars. Just look around the lineup. Beautiful design and magnificent engines.
Next to Mazda rotary there's no better sound... any Judd engine ROCKS!!!! HELL YEAH!!!
