The sound of a fretless bass - unmatched.
Joe Lester is a machine!
I don't see how you could listen to this song and NOT fall in love with it. The whole entire album is amazing for that matter.
Reminds me of Intronaut. These guys totally have an Intronaut sound to them. I wonder If they were influenced by Intronaut?
It Is Intronaut, Ya Dumb Fuck!!
+Daniel Castro You catch on fast.
I laughed so frigging hard reading that ridiculous shit.
I wish they would repeat that last drum/bass groove like 20 more times. This band is beyond amazing though.
+Noah Colbeck I thought the same thing!
I did also.
Remember when I first heard it. Holy shit that was epic
It makes me angry every time I hear someone complain that this generation doesn't produce good music. We may not have been around to see Queen or Kiss in their prime but shit! We've got bands like Meshuggah, Clutch, and Intronaut. I adore the classics but I wouldn't give up modern day metal for anything. Anyone that thinks our generation makes bad music needs to turn off their radio.
I keep coming back to watch this video. This song is beautiful in so many ways. The breakdowns are amazing. BADASS BASS AND DRUMS
this band is amazing. combining so many elements in a cohesive and intelligent way! trippy psychadelics, math meshuggahrisms, stoner, indie shoegazing moments, raw and real production, intelligent harmony, it's all there! X O X
WOW didnt see that outro coming...so simple yet so dark and amazing. that bassist is a monster
I just discovered this band...and damn those bass-lines sound absolutely legendary!
I was attempting to study for my Biological Anthropology and freshen up on my early hominid species but alas, instead this is where I wound up.
saw them like last night with Meshuggah and immediately became obsessed.
I've just discovered this. As a bass player, I am so in love.
One of the best rhythm sections in metal right now. That's for real.
This was the song that got me into Intronaut and it’s probably still my favorite by them. Sounds even better in 2024!
This band is progressing amazingly. Valley of Smoke is such a great improvement songwriting wise. I cannot wait to see what this band comes up with in the future.
I remember I discovered Intronaut with this song/ video and OMG what a trip it was... I hope sometime they come to Argentina
I wish I coulda caught these guys when they were touring with Mastodon. What a great video! It's like a Tool video with a H.P. Lovecraft-type vibe to it.
Merci Stormy ^^
^^ oui exactement
it sounds like a cross between death metal and stoner metal, dig it.
+sebastien berube also known as sludge
+sebastien berube Stoner guitars, death metal growls, post metal armonies. Jojojo.
+LuredDecoy Nah, sometimes sludge its a faster stoner, not necessary death influenced
Sometimes I like to refer to Intronaut as Post-Technical-Death Jazz.
Thats a good one. Dude, i know you didnt asked but i saw them play last month, and they're awesome. But they just played Literal Black Cloud from this record, i was expecting them to play this song. Great band!
Perfect song with a perfect bass .
One of the baddest fucking songs in this genre EVER!! And the video to match!
I just learned about Australopithecus in my Physical Anthropology class!!!
@RandomJackOfDoom I went to their show in Nashville! SO AMAZING! Definitely one of the best I've ever been to.
It's not often one gets to see a decent metal video these days. This is a rare exception
this video is actually super dope
I still have to come back and visit this vid every month or so. It's a definite recharge.
@ACDCwarmachine i saw them in atlanta and they were amazing
Detached from reality
Withdrawn from the game
Tiptoeing around logic
Catalyst dried up to a muddle
Words will forever fail
Perpetual and steady separation
Parched nerves drink the life out of you
Hell yeah! Didn't know much about Intronaut, but now I am highly intrigued.
I LOVE the Bass in this song :D
great video
great sound
great bassline
great intronaut !
Awesome! These guys are almost like a hybrid between Between The Buried and Me, Tool, and Mastodon!
I think its because with the digital age of music we live in their is so much music being pumped to our ears. When I was a kid in the 80's and had my heroes of metal their were a lot less bands to choose from as promoters could only promote the very best (or the already rich and established).
This song is a breath of fresh air. I need to check out their other stuff. Mind-blowing video too.
Fuck me silly, I love Walker's drumming.
these guys are so talented.i find myself watching this video from time to time
That base is sick...like the hum of the machine grinding away!
Awesome video, amazing song.
the bass is so fucking epic.
finally there is a band, playing this kind of music, where you can here the bass
Well I thought I'd check out all the other bands I'll be seeing with Animals As Leaders next sunday in Covington, but I wasnt expecting to find this. Intronaut is blowing my mind. Why I've never heard them sooner, I'll never know. But I'm glad I did some research. Now I cant wait for the show.
gotta love that bass
I'm gonna see these guys and kylesa in may!! stoked!!
this video always gives me the chills. i love it.
Perfect and imperfect in every way
Intronaut kick ass! This band takes influence from Neurosis, Isis, Mastodon, Meshuhggah and Cynic, also adding a lot of their own, to create a unique brand of progressive sludge. In my opinion their debut album, Void, is one of the greatest metal albums ever made and Prehistoricisms is pretty damn close, too (I slightly prefer Void, though)! Indeed, this album to me is the fourth best album of 2008.
A special mention goes to the drummer because of his very unpredictable style!
Awesome!
Scale the Summit opened for that tour, also an incredible choice to round out the setlist.
that bass line at the end always gets me pumped
This is my first exposure to this band and i loved this song/video.
the calm parts are soo amazing!! :D sadly the more hardcore parts make me feel like under a cloud rainning on me :( but that just makes the bright parts a lot more rewarding :)
Like the music as well as the video. Refreshingly different.
awesome song
i cant stop listening to this song.
This is so awesome
OH MY GOD THE BASS

Hey Pythotron. A buddy of mine just saw these guys in Edmonton with Mastodon, said they were awesome!!!!

@ENOCHwithaGLOCK That's probably the best description for anything I've ever heard. I fucking pictured the most brutal game of CHOPLIFTER ever.
I love the beat.
the bass in this is goddamn awesome
really imaginative songwritin going on here-and that bassist is certainly talented!
this is brilliant!

2:11 Bridge is AMAZING!!!
danny walker kills. he's from my hometown... we used to skate pv pool 3 stair rail back in the day, so funny. anyway intronaut is f'n tough plus very technical. great work guys.
Saw them last night with Mastodon too.Remember opening the door and
Intronaut putting out fucking sonic waves...
Video looks like a Kenneth Anger film. Interested to see them live.
wow. Must know more about this band.
@RandomJackOfDoom Evan Brewer, who recently joined The Faceless, is also on that bill playing songs from his solo bass album. I definitely recommend checking him out if your a fan of Animals As Leaders
