I love how Purple Potato maintains Shockwave's "arms come together to form the front of alt mode" shtick here as well.
12:00 Tip: The sole of the foot needs to be rotated towards the outer circular hull of the ship to have room when joining the legs together. Things will peg together securely once you get there. But getting there is a huge pain.

Hi Ben. Thank you for reviewing this. It's the reason I bought this amazing figure.
The back not closing is due to you twisting the wrong panels on the upper thighs. You should twist the opposite ones so that the top of the hinge is cleared. This gives the clearance to close it all the way. Mine's perfect and rock solid :)
For some reason soundwave without his yellow eye lit up, reminds me of when you friend who wears glasses takes them off lol. It just so weird. But great figure and review, definitely want to own him

Looks amazing! This is what can happen when a company takes an Iconic Figure and runs wild with imagination while checking off all the boxes needed to keep it within the realm of MP and the Cartoon or Movie. I am looking forward to mine.
I wonder if an MP Ark and/or Nemesis is on the Horizon? Could even scale these two up.

For someone who wants an MP Shockwave that isn't the MP colour nor is really expensive aftermarket prices, this looks amazing.

just got this today, its pretty much perfect. ive got no troubles closing up the cylinder section in alt mode, so i think you should just keep fiddling with it. make sure the knees are clicked all teh way, and make sure the ankle joints have the feet sitting properly

Skateboard gorilla is still my favorite but reading the 3rd party terrorcons info and seeing "Rippersnapper can combine with the other Terrorcons to form Satan" got me pretty good.
I kind of like lemon tree just because lemon trees are very fruitful... 🤷
Bobby Skullface had the sane problem closing up the halves of ship mode.
Now that the Big T has announced a transformable Ark, it makes me wonder if Lemon Tree will follow Purple Potater up with an Omega Supreme based Ark. I'm so tempted to get Purple Potater here only because of the Ark (or vice-versa)

How did you do that? I can not for the life of me figure out how to do that. There no space no where for that to go. Physically no way to close it.
There are two panels on each thigh at the top of each leg. When going into vehicle mode make sure they are out of the way but make sure it's the one at the front of the thigh then swing it to the side. Don't swing the one at the back of the thigh. I had the same problem. Took me forever to figure it out. That'll give you the clearance you need.

I had the same issues with my seam at the top and was racking my brain as to why. The grey flaps that have to be spun at the top of the thigh need to be the set that you can see from the top of the ship when you’re closing it up. Not the bottom ones that you spun. I did the same thing and once I changed that it closed up perfectly. I suspect the instructions just put it in the wrong step?
Good video. I still cannot get the hinge to slide down (7:55ish) so the panels won't close. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Shockwave appears ONCE in the 86 movie, telling the Decepticons who currently populated Cybertron to "scramble" when Unicron attacked, LONG after the ship was created so unfortunately your story doesn't work... It was a good idea though, I like the imagination behind it : )
I noticed that there are what look like identical LED lights recessed up in the rocket engines. Do those run on seperate AG1 batteries?
In retrospect, the writers of the movie should have written Shockwave being reformatted into this Armada ship. It only make sense. In my own little diorama world this is now canon.
I don't know if you mentioned it but the thrusters take batteries and light up as well.
what's weird is my eye lights up with the magnet but to turn it off I have to open it up?! It wasn't like that at first but after a couple times of turning it on and off now I have to open it lol whatevs

I really like their choice of using this metallic flat purple. Beautiful piece, accurate alt mode and very clever transformation. Ive decided to go for this figure alongside with my Studio Cell Unicron.

Im happy with chug scale, mp seems to not be able to make up its mind. The siege shocker is good enough for me.

I've seen the review on sun of empire but they play music in the background and u can't 👂 the ratchets clicking so I asked him how does the plastic feel because there's a few places in the legs were they look brittle. I really wanna buy this figure but im not 2 sure. Can u let me know if the plastic is sturdy or not. Thanks again for awesome 📹 👍👍
youre definitely not the only one who makes up stories for figures lol.. if i remember correctly, i believe in the 86 movie, shockwave is seen on cybertron (when it was being attacked by unicron) after galvatron was given the nemesis. my headcanon for this figure is that after seeing what a threat unicron was, shockwave, being the scientist he is, wanted a bigger form of defense. so he made himself a new (gigantic) body and scanned the nemesis

Boy I had planed on passing on this but its too dam cool and unique to miss out on. I'll find a home for it, the real question is do I keep it in bot or alt mode??? I have other Shockwaves in bot mode but this is different enough that bot mode would be great and it looks to be on par with any other MP style offering but alt mode is truly 1 of 1 and beautiful in its own right!!

I’d be happy if someone just made us a really nice, painted up version of all of the ships. Don’t even have to transform. I’d pay big $$$ if they were the same size as say, Fanstoys Omega Supreme
I kinda want Hasbro to make this his official mode. Not that theres anything wrong with a space gun but it would be nice to have someone transform into the ship.
They kinda did in Siege. Shockwave's vehicle mode is definitey more of a space submarine than a space gun.
@DarkChroniclesXII 100 percent agree with you. The concept of Megatron and Shockwave turning into a gun is a product of its' time. Most of the G1-collecting crowd likes the status quo because that's what they grew up with. I like G1, but I'd also like to see new ideas come around again as well.

Hi there. Have you transformed it many times? A chap on TFW2005.com commented that the plastic is made out of purple gummi bears. It no longer tabs in properly, as a tab broke off and another has eroded away a bit. He also reported that the knee ratchets don't feel as if they'll withstand multiple transformations. May I ask what your thoughts are?

Does no body see the Potatoe shaped likeness that is the rear of the ship? To me it’s kind of glaring
EDIT: Take the below with more than a grain of salt. I was eventually able to get them back to plug in together, it's just a matter of letting everything line up. the arms issue was because the magnets were installed wrong so they were actually pushing against one another, I had to take them out and reinstall them, and then the arms went together.
I've been messing with this thing for hours, but the ship mode just seems like utter garbage. nothing on mine tabs together right. The arms don't tab together, the pegs under the arms don't tab into the torso. the legs won't go together, the light purple piece from the legs that tabs into the arms pops out immediately. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but the instructions are some of the worst I've ever come across. Robot mode is beautiful, but ship mode is really just a disaster. WORST TABS EVER.
Where did you get that Quintesson ship?
While I like the look of a lot of him, I'm not entirely taken in by that "spring" that is his cannon hose... While it's probably more effective than other methods of doing it, it looks really odd to me.
OK, a stupid question:
This is the second transformation video I have watched where they remove the laser hand and use a normal hand. Do you have to do this? Or can you keep the laser portion on?

@@BensKOllectables just got mine, and I also have problems with the top back section (feels like the feet are just a little too wide for some reason). I also have a definitive answer about his laser hand: it is a little to long and wide to be kept on during transformation. It does fit on the bottom inner peg of the flight stand, so there is that.
All in all a difficult, but great figure...

Most of my third party bits are coming across , I work with some official companies don’t like sharing a channel with unlicensed
So why do you do 3P reviews under your KO channel?
Some of the offices stores and brands I work with don’t link non licensed things being on the same channel so I’ve moved most of my third party bits over here
Any stress marks? Couple of videos and pictures I've seen had people worried about white stress marks in many of the hinges (torso, neck areas)

11:17 You transformed that part wrong. You are supposed to pushed that flap downward, not upward. You don't know how much grief you have given me with that one misstep. For 3 hrs I couldn't form the back of the ship and didn't know why. You gave me 3 hrs of frustration and that is just unforgiveable.

As much as I love Shockwave, there was absolutely no reason for him to be made the Persona of this battle cruiser.

Honestly with Shockwave even tho hes my favorite character, it never really seems like he get the best toys. I mean they are never bad but most of the time they just good. So seeing this it might finally be a chance to have like, a great shockwave imo oi oi. Esp since he actually turns into something unlike a lot of other shockwaves. So eh ill take it ahah
